In short

A khatm in Ramadan is one juz a day: about 20 pages, or four pages after each prayer. For two khatm, read two juz a day. The Prophet ﷺ reviewed the Qur’an with Jibril every Ramadan (Sahih al-Bukhari 6).

How this works and sources

  • Boundaries. Juz start and end ayahs come from the same Qur’an data as the Niyat app, and page ranges from the 604-page Madinah mushaf. The early-khatm plan splits each juz at its middle page, so its From and To are page-based.
  • Ramadan and the Qur’an. “The month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was revealed” (Qur’an 2:185). “Recite the Qur’an with measured recitation” (Qur’an 73:4).
  • Pace. Reading a whole Qur’an in under three days is discouraged (Sunan Abi Dawud 1394). Thirty days is a gentle, widely followed pace.
  • Dates. Assumed start: Monday 8 February 2027 (Umm al-Qura). Change it on the planner and these dates follow.

Want to listen while you read? The Niyat app has the full Qur’an with word-by-word audio. You can also read the Qur’an on this site.

How to finish in 30 days

  1. Pick your plan. Choose one juz a day for a single khatm, two juz a day for two khatm, or the early khatm with a second in the last ten nights.
  2. Split each day. Divide the day’s reading into five parts, about four pages after each prayer.
  3. Print the schedule. Pick A4 or US Letter, press Print for the plan you chose, and keep the sheet beside your mushaf.
  4. Tick each day. Tick the box when you finish the day’s reading. On this page your ticks are saved on this device.
  5. Catch up gently. If you miss a day, add a few pages to each remaining day instead of stopping.

Frequently asked questions

How do I finish the Qur’an in Ramadan?

Read one juz a day. There are 30 juz and about 30 days in the month, so each day is about 20 pages of the 604-page Madinah mushaf, or four pages after each of the five prayers. Jibril reviewed the Qur’an with the Prophet ﷺ every night of Ramadan (Sahih al-Bukhari 6).

Is it good to finish the Qur’an twice?

Jibril reviewed the whole Qur’an with the Prophet ﷺ once each year, and twice in the year he died (Sahih al-Bukhari 4998). Reading with understanding matters more than speed: the Prophet ﷺ said that one who recites it in less than three days does not grasp it (Sunan Abi Dawud 1394).

What if I miss a day?

Add a little to each remaining day. The planner on the main page shows how many pages a day finish by day 30. Do not drop the habit: a small daily amount is better than none.

Does Ramadan have 29 or 30 days?

Either. The schedule has 30 days; if your Ramadan has 29, read a little more on each day or finish the last juz on day 29.

Which mushaf are the page numbers for?

The 604-page Madinah mushaf, the most common print worldwide. Juz boundaries are the same in every print. Page numbers may differ in other prints, so use the From and To columns.

Can I plan a khatm for any month?

Yes. Our khatm planner builds a schedule for any number of days, any daily time, or one page at a time, and the Niyat app can track it with a group.
