Surah 29 of 114 · Makki
سُورَةُ العَنكَبُوتِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
2
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
أَحَسِبَaḥasibaDo thinkٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuthe peopleأَنanthatيُتْرَكُوٓا۟yut'rakūthey will be leftأَنanbecauseيَقُولُوٓا۟yaqūlūthey sayءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاlāwill not be testedيُفْتَنُونَyuf'tanūnawill not be tested
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried

29:2
3
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd indeedفَتَنَّاfatannāWe testedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ ۖqablihim(were) before themفَلَيَعْلَمَنَّfalayaʿlamannaAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoصَدَقُوا۟ṣadaqū(are) truthfulوَلَيَعْلَمَنَّwalayaʿlamannaand He will surely make evidentٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars

4
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
أَمْamOrحَسِبَḥasibathinkٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnadoٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātievil deedsأَنanthatيَسْبِقُونَا ۚyasbiqūnāthey can outrun UsسَآءَsāaEvil isمَاmāwhatيَحْكُمُونَyaḥkumūnathey judge
Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge

5
مَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَـَٔاتٍۢ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
مَنmanWhoeverكَانَkāna[is]يَرْجُوا۟yarjūhopesلِقَآءَliqāa(for the) meetingٱللَّهِl-lahi(with) Allahفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedأَجَلَajala(the) Termٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahلَـَٔاتٍۢ ۚlaātin(is) surely comingوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term decreed by Allah is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing

29:5
6
وَمَن جَـٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَـٰهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverجَـٰهَدَjāhadastrivesفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيُجَـٰهِدُyujāhiduhe strivesلِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚlinafsihifor himselfإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَغَنِىٌّlaghaniyyun(is) Free from needعَنِʿaniofٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīnathe worlds
And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds

29:6
7
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous (deeds)لَنُكَفِّرَنَّlanukaffirannasurely, We will removeعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themسَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْsayyiātihimtheir evil deedsوَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْwalanajziyannahumand We will surely reward themأَحْسَنَaḥsana(the) bestٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūna(to) do
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do

29:7
8
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًۭا ۖ وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ ۚ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَوَصَّيْنَاwawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoinedٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna(on) manبِوَٰلِدَيْهِbiwālidayhigoodness to his parentsحُسْنًۭا ۖḥus'nangoodness to his parentsوَإِنwa-inbut ifجَـٰهَدَاكَjāhadākathey both strive against youلِتُشْرِكَlitush'rikato make you associateبِىbīwith Meمَاmāwhatلَيْسَlaysanotلَكَlakayou haveبِهِۦbihiof itعِلْمٌۭʿil'munany knowledgeفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتُطِعْهُمَآ ۚtuṭiʿ'humāobey both of themإِلَىَّilayyaTo Meمَرْجِعُكُمْmarjiʿukum(is) your returnفَأُنَبِّئُكُمfa-unabbi-ukumand I will inform youبِمَاbimāabout whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou usedتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūna(to) do
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do

29:8
9
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsلَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْlanud'khilannahumWe will surely admit themفِىfīamongٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise]

29:9
10
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمِنَwaminaAnd ofٱلنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleمَنman(is he) whoيَقُولُyaqūlusaysءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahفَإِذَآfa-idhāBut whenأُوذِىَūdhiyahe is harmedفِىfīinٱللَّهِl-lahi(the Way of) Allahجَعَلَjaʿalahe considersفِتْنَةَfit'nata(the) trialٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleكَعَذَابِkaʿadhābias (the) punishmentٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَلَئِنwala-inBut ifجَآءَjāacomesنَصْرٌۭnaṣrunvictoryمِّنminfromرَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lordلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnasurely they sayإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weكُنَّاkunnāwereمَعَكُمْ ۚmaʿakumwith youأَوَلَيْسَawalaysaIs notٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِأَعْلَمَbi-aʿlamamost knowingبِمَاbimāof whatفِىfī(is) inصُدُورِṣudūri(the) breastsٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures

29:10
11
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّwalayaʿlamannaAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah will surely make evidentٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَلَيَعْلَمَنَّwalayaʿlamannaAnd He will surely make evidentٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocrites
And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites

29:11
12
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَـٰيَـٰكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَـٰمِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَـٰيَـٰهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveٱتَّبِعُوا۟ittabiʿūFollowسَبِيلَنَاsabīlanāour wayوَلْنَحْمِلْwalnaḥmiland we will carryخَطَـٰيَـٰكُمْkhaṭāyākumyour sinsوَمَاwamāBut notهُمhumtheyبِحَـٰمِلِينَbiḥāmilīna(are) going to carryمِنْminofخَطَـٰيَـٰهُمkhaṭāyāhumtheir sinsمِّنminanyشَىْءٍ ۖshayinthingإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyلَكَـٰذِبُونَlakādhibūna(are) surely liars
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars

29:12
13
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًۭا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّwalayaḥmilunnaBut surely they will carryأَثْقَالَهُمْathqālahumtheir burdensوَأَثْقَالًۭاwa-athqālanand burdensمَّعَmaʿawithأَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖathqālihimtheir burdensوَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّwalayus'alunnaand surely they will be questionedيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionعَمَّاʿammāabout whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedيَفْتَرُونَyaftarūna(to) invent
But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent

29:13
14
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًۭا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentنُوحًاnūḥanNuhإِلَىٰilātoقَوْمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleفَلَبِثَfalabithaand he remainedفِيهِمْfīhimamong themأَلْفَalfaa thousandسَنَةٍsanatinyear(s)إِلَّاillāsaveخَمْسِينَkhamsīnafiftyعَامًۭاʿāmanyear(s)فَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuthen seized themٱلطُّوفَانُl-ṭūfānuthe floodوَهُمْwahumwhile theyظَـٰلِمُونَẓālimūna(were) wrongdoers
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers

29:14
15
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلسَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُfa-anjaynāhuBut We saved himوَأَصْحَـٰبَwa-aṣḥābaand (the) peopleٱلسَّفِينَةِl-safīnati(of) the shipوَجَعَلْنَـٰهَآwajaʿalnāhāand We made itءَايَةًۭāyatana Signلِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnafor the worlds
But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds

29:15
16
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَwa-ib'rāhīmaAnd Ibrahim إِذْidhwhenقَالَqālahe saidلِقَوْمِهِliqawmihito his peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَٱتَّقُوهُ ۖwa-ittaqūhuand fear HimذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumThatخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterلَّكُمْlakumfor youإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyouتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know

29:16
17
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًۭا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًۭا فَٱبْتَغُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرِّزْقَ وَٱعْبُدُوهُ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لَهُۥٓ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worshipمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَوْثَـٰنًۭاawthānanidolsوَتَخْلُقُونَwatakhluqūnaand you createإِفْكًا ۚif'kanfalsehoodإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worshipمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَاlā(do) notيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnapossessلَكُمْlakumfor youرِزْقًۭاriz'qanany provisionفَٱبْتَغُوا۟fa-ib'taghūSo seekعِندَʿindafromٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionوَٱعْبُدُوهُwa-uʿ'budūhuand worship Himوَٱشْكُرُوا۟wa-ush'kurūand be gratefulلَهُۥٓ ۖlahuto HimإِلَيْهِilayhiTo Himتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned

29:17
18
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا۟ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifتُكَذِّبُوا۟tukadhibūyou denyفَقَدْfaqadthen verilyكَذَّبَkadhabadeniedأُمَمٌۭumamun(the) nationsمِّنminbefore youقَبْلِكُمْ ۖqablikumbefore youوَمَاwamāAnd notعَلَىʿalā(is) onٱلرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْبَلَـٰغُl-balāghuthe conveyanceٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuclear
And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification

29:18
19
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ
أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeكَيْفَkayfahowيُبْدِئُyub'di-uAllah originatesٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah originatesٱلْخَلْقَl-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummathenيُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚyuʿīduhurepeats itإِنَّinnaIndeedذَٰلِكَdhālikathatعَلَىʿalāforٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَسِيرٌۭyasīrun(is) easy
Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy

29:19
20
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ
قُلْqulSayسِيرُوا۟sīrūTravelفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَٱنظُرُوا۟fa-unẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowبَدَأَbada-aHe originatedٱلْخَلْقَ ۚl-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummaThenٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahيُنشِئُyunshi-uwill produceٱلنَّشْأَةَl-nashatathe creationٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۚl-ākhiratathe lastإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلَىٰʿalāonكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingقَدِيرٌۭqadīrun(is) All-Powerful
Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent

29:20
21
يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ
يُعَذِّبُyuʿadhibuHe punishesمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُyashāuHe willsوَيَرْحَمُwayarḥamuand has mercyمَنman(on) whomيَشَآءُ ۖyashāuHe willsوَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Himتُقْلَبُونَtuq'labūnayou will be returned
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned

29:21
22
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا نَصِيرٍۢ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَنتُمantumyouبِمُعْجِزِينَbimuʿ'jizīnacan escapeفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَاwalāand notفِىfīinٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖl-samāithe heavenوَمَاwamāAnd notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنminanyوَلِىٍّۢwaliyyinprotectorوَلَاwalāand notنَصِيرٍۢnaṣīrina helper
And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper

29:22
23
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِقَآئِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَئِسُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَتِى وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin (the) Signsٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَلِقَآئِهِۦٓwaliqāihiand (the) meeting (with) Himأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseيَئِسُوا۟ya-isū(have) despairedمِنminofرَّحْمَتِىraḥmatīMy Mercyوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd thoseلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment

24
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
فَمَاfamāAnd notكَانَkānawasجَوَابَjawāba(the) answerقَوْمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his peopleإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanthatقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidٱقْتُلُوهُuq'tulūhuKill himأَوْaworحَرِّقُوهُḥarriqūhuburn himفَأَنجَىٰهُfa-anjāhuBut Allah saved himٱللَّهُl-lahuBut Allah saved himمِنَminafromٱلنَّارِ ۚl-nārithe fireإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
And the answer of Abraham's people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe

29:24
25
وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًۭا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍۢ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًۭا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd he saidإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱتَّخَذْتُمittakhadhtumyou have takenمِّنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَوْثَـٰنًۭاawthānanidolsمَّوَدَّةَmawaddata(out of) loveبَيْنِكُمْbaynikumamong youفِىfīinٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayatithe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا ۖl-dun'yā(of) the worldثُمَّthummaThenيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionيَكْفُرُyakfuruyou will denyبَعْضُكُمbaʿḍukumone anotherبِبَعْضٍۢbibaʿḍinone anotherوَيَلْعَنُwayalʿanuand curseبَعْضُكُمbaʿḍukumone anotherبَعْضًۭاbaʿḍanone anotherوَمَأْوَىٰكُمُwamawākumuand your abodeٱلنَّارُl-nāru(will be) the Fireوَمَاwamāand notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminanyنَّـٰصِرِينَnāṣirīnahelpers
And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers

29:25
26
۞ فَـَٔامَنَ لَهُۥ لُوطٌۭ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّى مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
۞ فَـَٔامَنَfaāmanaAnd believedلَهُۥlahu[in] himلُوطٌۭ ۘlūṭunLutوَقَالَwaqālaand he saidإِنِّىinnīIndeed I (am)مُهَاجِرٌmuhājirunemigratingإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّىٓ ۖrabbīmy LordإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heهُوَhuwa[He] (is)ٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

29:26
27
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِ ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ أَجْرَهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We grantedلَهُۥٓlahuto himإِسْحَـٰقَis'ḥāqaIsaacوَيَعْقُوبَwayaʿqūbaand Yaqubوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We placedفِىfīinذُرِّيَّتِهِdhurriyyatihihis offspringsٱلنُّبُوَّةَl-nubuwatathe Prophethoodوَٱلْكِتَـٰبَwal-kitābaand the BookوَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave himأَجْرَهُۥajrahuhis rewardفِىfīinٱلدُّنْيَا ۖl-dun'yāthe worldوَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, heفِىfīinٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterلَمِنَlamina(is) surely, amongٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
And We gave to Him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous

29:27
28
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَلُوطًاwalūṭanAnd Lutإِذْidhwhenقَالَqālahe saidلِقَوْمِهِۦٓliqawmihito his peopleإِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed, youلَتَأْتُونَlatatūnacommitٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَl-fāḥishatathe immoralityمَاmānotسَبَقَكُمsabaqakumhas preceded youبِهَاbihāwith itمِنْminanyأَحَدٍۢaḥadinoneمِّنَminafromٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīnathe worlds
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds

29:28
29
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ ٱلسَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِى نَادِيكُمُ ٱلْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
أَئِنَّكُمْa-innakumIndeed, youلَتَأْتُونَlatatūnaapproachٱلرِّجَالَl-rijālathe menوَتَقْطَعُونَwataqṭaʿūnaand you cut offٱلسَّبِيلَl-sabīlathe roadوَتَأْتُونَwatatūnaand commitفِىfīinنَادِيكُمُnādīkumuyour meetingsٱلْمُنكَرَ ۖl-munkaraevilفَمَاfamāAnd notكَانَkānawasجَوَابَjawāba(the) answerقَوْمِهِۦٓqawmihi(of) his peopleإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanthatقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidٱئْتِنَاi'tināBring upon usبِعَذَابِbiʿadhābi(the) punishmentٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful

30
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lordٱنصُرْنِىunṣur'nīHelp meعَلَىʿalāagainstٱلْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleٱلْمُفْسِدِينَl-muf'sidīnathe corrupters
He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people

29:30
31
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُهْلِكُوٓا۟ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا۟ ظَـٰلِمِينَ
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَآءَتْjāatcameرُسُلُنَآrusulunāOur messengersإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(to) Ibrahimبِٱلْبُشْرَىٰbil-bush'rāwith the glad tidingsقَالُوٓا۟qālūthey saidإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weمُهْلِكُوٓا۟muh'likū(are) going to destroyأَهْلِahli(the) peopleهَـٰذِهِhādhihi(of) thisٱلْقَرْيَةِ ۖl-qaryatitownإِنَّinnaIndeedأَهْلَهَاahlahāits peopleكَانُوا۟kānūareظَـٰلِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good tidings, they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that Lot's city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers

29:31
32
قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًۭا ۚ قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيهَاfīhāin itلُوطًۭا ۚlūṭan(is) Lutقَالُوا۟qālūThey saidنَحْنُnaḥnuWeأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknow betterبِمَنbimanwhoفِيهَا ۖfīhā(is) in itلَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥlanunajjiyannahuWe will surely save himوَأَهْلَهُۥٓwa-ahlahuand his familyإِلَّاillāexceptٱمْرَأَتَهُۥim'ra-atahuhis wifeكَانَتْkānatSheمِنَmina(is) ofٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَl-ghābirīnathose who remain behind
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind

29:32
33
وَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًۭا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًۭا وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
وَلَمَّآwalammāAnd whenأَنan[that]جَآءَتْjāatcameرُسُلُنَاrusulunāOur messengersلُوطًۭاlūṭan(to) Lutسِىٓءَsīahe was distressedبِهِمْbihimfor themوَضَاقَwaḍāqaand felt straitenedبِهِمْbihimfor themذَرْعًۭاdharʿan(and) uneasyوَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they saidلَاlā(Do) notتَخَفْtakhaffearوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَحْزَنْ ۖtaḥzangrieveإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weمُنَجُّوكَmunajjūka(will) save youوَأَهْلَكَwa-ahlakaand your familyإِلَّاillāexceptٱمْرَأَتَكَim'ra-atakayour wifeكَانَتْkānatSheمِنَmina(is) ofٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَl-ghābirīnathose who remain behind
And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort. They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind

29:33
34
إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, weمُنزِلُونَmunzilūna(will) bring downعَلَىٰٓʿalāonأَهْلِahli(the) peopleهَـٰذِهِhādhihi(of) thisٱلْقَرْيَةِl-qaryatitownرِجْزًۭاrij'zana punishmentمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāi(the) skyبِمَاbimābecauseكَانُوا۟kānūthey have beenيَفْسُقُونَyafsuqūnadefiantly disobedient
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient

29:34
35
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَآ ءَايَةًۢ بَيِّنَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ
وَلَقَدwalaqadAnd verilyتَّرَكْنَاtaraknāWe have leftمِنْهَآmin'hāabout itءَايَةًۢāyatana signبَيِّنَةًۭbayyinatan(as) evidenceلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use reason
And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason

29:35
36
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًۭا فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱرْجُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
وَإِلَىٰwa-ilāAnd toمَدْيَنَmadyanaMadyanأَخَاهُمْakhāhumtheir brotherشُعَيْبًۭاshuʿaybanShuaibفَقَالَfaqālaAnd he saidيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَٱرْجُوا۟wa-ir'jūand expectٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmathe Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرَl-ākhirathe Lastوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَعْثَوْا۟taʿthawcommit evilفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمُفْسِدِينَmuf'sidīna(as) corrupters
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption

29:36
37
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhuBut they denied himفَأَخَذَتْهُمُfa-akhadhathumuso seized themٱلرَّجْفَةُl-rajfatuthe earthquakeفَأَصْبَحُوا۟fa-aṣbaḥūand they becameفِىfīinدَارِهِمْdārihimtheir homeجَـٰثِمِينَjāthimīnafallen prone
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone

29:37
38
وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
وَعَادًۭاwaʿādanAnd Aadوَثَمُودَا۟wathamūdāand Thamudوَقَدwaqadand verilyتَّبَيَّنَtabayyana(has) become clearلَكُمlakumto youمِّنminfromمَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۖmasākinihimtheir dwellingsوَزَيَّنَwazayyanaAnd made fair-seemingلَهُمُlahumuto themٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaanأَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deedsفَصَدَّهُمْfaṣaddahumand averted themعَنِʿanifromٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīlithe Wayوَكَانُوا۟wakānūthough they wereمُسْتَبْصِرِينَmus'tabṣirīnaendowed with insight
And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception

29:38
39
وَقَـٰرُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ سَـٰبِقِينَ
وَقَـٰرُونَwaqārūnaAnd Qarunوَفِرْعَوْنَwafir'ʿawnaand Firaunوَهَـٰمَـٰنَ ۖwahāmānaand HamanوَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَهُمjāahumcame to themمُّوسَىٰmūsāMusaبِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِbil-bayinātiwith clear evidencesفَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟fa-is'takbarūbut they were arrogantفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand notكَانُوا۟kānūthey couldسَـٰبِقِينَsābiqīnaoutstrip Us
And [We destroyed] Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment]

29:39
40
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًۭا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
فَكُلًّاfakullanSo eachأَخَذْنَاakhadhnāWe seizedبِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖbidhanbihifor his sinفَمِنْهُمfamin'humThen of themمَّنْman(was he) whoأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himحَاصِبًۭاḥāṣibana violent stormوَمِنْهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنْman(was he) whoأَخَذَتْهُakhadhathuseized himٱلصَّيْحَةُl-ṣayḥatuthe awful cryوَمِنْهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنْman(was he) whoخَسَفْنَاkhasafnāWe caused to swallowبِهِbihihimٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthوَمِنْهُمwamin'humand of themمَّنْman(was he) whoأَغْرَقْنَا ۚaghraqnāWe drownedوَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānawasٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahلِيَظْلِمَهُمْliyaẓlimahumto wrong themوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutكَانُوٓا۟kānūthey wereأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnadoing wrong
So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves

41
مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ٱتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًۭا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ ٱلْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
مَثَلُmathalu(The) exampleٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūtakeمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَوْلِيَآءَawliyāaprotectorsكَمَثَلِkamathali(is) likeٱلْعَنكَبُوتِl-ʿankabūtithe spiderٱتَّخَذَتْittakhadhatwho takesبَيْتًۭا ۖbaytana houseوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedأَوْهَنَawhanathe weakestٱلْبُيُوتِl-buyūti(of) housesلَبَيْتُlabaytu(is) surely (the) houseٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖl-ʿankabūti(of) the spiderلَوْlawif (only)كَانُوا۟kānūtheyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew

42
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاmāwhatيَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey invokeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦdūnihibesides Himمِنminanyشَىْءٍۢ ۚshayinthingوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
Indeed, Allah knows whatever thing they call upon other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

43
وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَ
وَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd theseٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُl-amthāluexamplesنَضْرِبُهَاnaḍribuhāWe set forthلِلنَّاسِ ۖlilnnāsito mankindوَمَاwamābut notيَعْقِلُهَآyaʿqiluhāwill understand themإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَl-ʿālimūnathose of knowledge
And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge

44
خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
خَلَقَkhalaqaAllah createdٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah createdٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthبِٱلْحَقِّ ۚbil-ḥaqiin truthإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Signلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīnafor the believers
Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

29:44
45
ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ
ٱتْلُut'luReciteمَآmāwhatأُوحِىَūḥiyahas been revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youمِنَminaofٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookوَأَقِمِwa-aqimiand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖl-ṣalatathe prayerإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayerتَنْهَىٰtanhāpreventsعَنِʿanifromٱلْفَحْشَآءِl-faḥshāithe immoralityوَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗwal-munkariand evil deedsوَلَذِكْرُwaladhik'ruand surely (the) remembranceٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahأَكْبَرُ ۗakbaru(is) greatestوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاmāwhatتَصْنَعُونَtaṣnaʿūnayou do
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do

29:45
46
۞ وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُنَا وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَٰحِدٌۭ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ
۞ وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُجَـٰدِلُوٓا۟tujādilūargueأَهْلَahla(with the) People of the Bookٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(with the) People of the Bookإِلَّاillāexceptبِٱلَّتِىbi-allatīby whichهِىَhiya[it]أَحْسَنُaḥsanu(is) bestإِلَّاillāexceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamū(do) wrongمِنْهُمْ ۖmin'humamong themوَقُولُوٓا۟waqūlūand sayءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِٱلَّذِىٓbi-alladhīin that (which)أُنزِلَunzilahas been revealedإِلَيْنَاilaynāto usوَأُنزِلَwa-unzilaand was revealedإِلَيْكُمْilaykumto youوَإِلَـٰهُنَاwa-ilāhunāAnd our Godوَإِلَـٰهُكُمْwa-ilāhukumand your Godوَٰحِدٌۭwāḥidun(is) Oneوَنَحْنُwanaḥnuand weلَهُۥlahuto Himمُسْلِمُونَmus'limūnasubmit
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him

29:46
47
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusأَنزَلْنَآanzalnāWe (have) revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚl-kitābathe Bookفَٱلَّذِينَfa-alladhīnaSo thoseءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُātaynāhumuWe gave [them]ٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِهِۦ ۖbihithereinوَمِنْwaminAnd amongهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāitheseمَنman(are some) whoيُؤْمِنُyu'minubelieveبِهِۦ ۚbihithereinوَمَاwamāAnd noneيَجْحَدُyajḥadurejectبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآbiāyātināOur Versesإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
And thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers

29:47
48
وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِن كِتَـٰبٍۢ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُۥ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًۭا لَّٱرْتَابَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notكُنتَkunta(did) youتَتْلُوا۟tatlūreciteمِنminbefore itقَبْلِهِۦqablihibefore itمِنminanyكِتَـٰبٍۢkitābinBookوَلَاwalāand notتَخُطُّهُۥtakhuṭṭuhu(did) you write itبِيَمِينِكَ ۖbiyamīnikawith your right handإِذًۭاidhanin that caseلَّٱرْتَابَla-ir'tābasurely (would) have doubtedٱلْمُبْطِلُونَl-mub'ṭilūnathe falsifiers
And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt

29:48
49
بَلْ هُوَ ءَايَـٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَـٰتٌۭ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
بَلْbalNayهُوَhuwaitءَايَـٰتٌۢāyātun(is) Versesبَيِّنَـٰتٌۭbayyinātunclearفِىfīinصُدُورِṣudūri(the) breastsٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoأُوتُوا۟ūtūare givenٱلْعِلْمَ ۚl-ʿil'mathe knowledgeوَمَاwamāAnd notيَجْحَدُyajḥadurejectبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآbiāyātināOur Versesإِلَّاillāexceptٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoers
Rather, the Qur'an is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers

29:49
50
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they sayلَوْلَآlawlāWhy notأُنزِلَunzilaare sent downعَلَيْهِʿalayhito himءَايَـٰتٌۭāyātun(the) Signsمِّنminfromرَّبِّهِۦ ۖrabbihihis LordقُلْqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُl-āyātuthe Signsعِندَʿinda(are) withٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَإِنَّمَآwa-innamāand onlyأَنَا۠anāI (am)نَذِيرٌۭnadhīruna warnerمُّبِينٌmubīnunclear
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner

29:50
51
أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةًۭ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَوَلَمْawalamAnd is (it) notيَكْفِهِمْyakfihimsufficient for themأَنَّآannāthat Weأَنزَلْنَاanzalnārevealedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookيُتْلَىٰyut'lā(which) is recitedعَلَيْهِمْ ۚʿalayhimto themإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَرَحْمَةًۭlaraḥmatansurely is a mercyوَذِكْرَىٰwadhik'rāand a reminderلِقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe

29:51
52
قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًۭا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
قُلْqulSayكَفَىٰkafāSufficient isبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiAllahبَيْنِىbaynībetween meوَبَيْنَكُمْwabaynakumand between youشَهِيدًۭا ۖshahīdan(as) a WitnessيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuHe knowsمَاmāwhatفِىfī(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗwal-arḍiand the earthوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِbil-bāṭiliin [the] falsehoodوَكَفَرُوا۟wakafarūand disbelieveبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseهُمُhumutheyٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
Say, "Sufficient is Allah between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah - it is those who are the losers

29:52
53
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَآ أَجَلٌۭ مُّسَمًّۭى لَّجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَwayastaʿjilūnakaAnd they ask you to hastenبِٱلْعَذَابِ ۚbil-ʿadhābi[with] the punishmentوَلَوْلَآwalawlāAnd if notأَجَلٌۭajalun(for) a termمُّسَمًّۭىmusammanappointedلَّجَآءَهُمُlajāahumusurely (would) have come to themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentوَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُمwalayatiyannahumBut it will surely come to themبَغْتَةًۭbaghtatansuddenlyوَهُمْwahumwhile theyلَاlā(do) notيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not

54
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ بِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَyastaʿjilūnakaThey ask you to hastenبِٱلْعَذَابِbil-ʿadhābithe punishmentوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellلَمُحِيطَةٌۢlamuḥīṭatunwill surely, encompassبِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَbil-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers

29:54
55
يَوْمَ يَغْشَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
يَوْمَyawmaOn (the) Dayيَغْشَىٰهُمُyaghshāhumuwill cover themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentمِنminfromفَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove themوَمِنwaminand fromتَحْتِtaḥtibelowأَرْجُلِهِمْarjulihimtheir feetوَيَقُولُwayaqūluand He will sayذُوقُوا۟dhūqūTasteمَاmāwhatكُنتُمْkuntumyou usedتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūna(to) do
On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do

29:55
56
يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ أَرْضِى وَٰسِعَةٌۭ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
يَـٰعِبَادِىَyāʿibādiyaO My servantsٱلَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelieveإِنَّinnaIndeedأَرْضِىarḍīMy earthوَٰسِعَةٌۭwāsiʿatun(is) spaciousفَإِيَّـٰىَfa-iyyāyaso onlyفَٱعْبُدُونِfa-uʿ'budūniworship Me
O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me

29:56
57
كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
كُلُّkulluEveryنَفْسٍۢnafsinsoulذَآئِقَةُdhāiqatu(will) tasteٱلْمَوْتِ ۖl-mawtithe deathثُمَّthummaThenإِلَيْنَاilaynāto Usتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned

29:57
58
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًۭا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ نِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deedsلَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمlanubawwi-annahumsurely We will give them a placeمِّنَminainٱلْجَنَّةِl-janatiParadiseغُرَفًۭاghurafanlofty dwellingsتَجْرِىtajrīflowمِنminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُl-anhāruthe riversخَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnawill abide foreverفِيهَا ۚfīhāin itنِعْمَniʿ'maExcellent isأَجْرُajru(the) rewardٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَl-ʿāmilīna(of) the workers
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers

29:58
59
ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoصَبَرُوا۟ṣabarū(are) patientوَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand uponرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnaput their trust
Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely

29:59
60
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَآبَّةٍۢ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا ٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
وَكَأَيِّنwaka-ayyinAnd how manyمِّنminofدَآبَّةٍۢdābbatina creatureلَّاlā(does) notتَحْمِلُtaḥmilucarryرِزْقَهَاriz'qahāits provisionٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahيَرْزُقُهَاyarzuquhāprovides (for) itوَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚwa-iyyākumand (for) youوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing

29:60
61
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنْmanWhoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَسَخَّرَwasakharaand subjectedٱلشَّمْسَl-shamsathe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَwal-qamaraand the moonلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnaSurely they would sayٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuAllahفَأَنَّىٰfa-annāThen howيُؤْفَكُونَyu'fakūnaare they deluded
If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded

29:61
62
ٱللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۭ
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahيَبْسُطُyabsuṭuextendsٱلرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionلِمَنlimanfor whomيَشَآءُyashāuHe willsمِنْminofعِبَادِهِۦʿibādihiHis slavesوَيَقْدِرُwayaqdiruand restrictsلَهُۥٓ ۚlahufor himإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَىْءٍshayinthingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
Allah extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing

29:62
63
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنmanWhoنَّزَّلَnazzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۭmāanwaterفَأَحْيَاfa-aḥyāand gives lifeبِهِbihitherebyٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnaSurely, they would sayٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllahقُلِquliSayٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll Praisesلِلَّهِ ۚlillahi(are) for AllahبَلْbalButأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themلَاlā(do) notيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnause reason
And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say " Allah." Say, "Praise to Allah "; but most of them do not reason

29:63
64
وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌۭ وَلَعِبٌۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notهَـٰذِهِhādhihi(is) thisٱلْحَيَوٰةُl-ḥayatulifeٱلدُّنْيَآl-dun'yā(of) the worldإِلَّاillābutلَهْوٌۭlahwunamusementوَلَعِبٌۭ ۚwalaʿibunand playوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱلدَّارَl-dārathe Homeٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَl-ākhirata(of) the Hereafter لَهِىَlahiyasurely, itٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚl-ḥayawānu(is) the lifeلَوْlawif onlyكَانُوا۟kānūtheyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew

29:64
65
فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
فَإِذَاfa-idhāAnd whenرَكِبُوا۟rakibūthey embarkفِىfī[in]ٱلْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipدَعَوُا۟daʿawūthey callٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمُخْلِصِينَmukh'liṣīna(being) sincereلَهُlahuto Himٱلدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religionفَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenنَجَّىٰهُمْnajjāhumHe delivers themإِلَىilātoٱلْبَرِّl-barithe landإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumtheyيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociate partners (with Him)
And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him

29:65
66
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟liyakfurūSo that they may denyبِمَآbimā[in] whatءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْātaynāhumWe have given themوَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖwaliyatamattaʿūand they may enjoy (themselves)فَسَوْفَfasawfaBut soonيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnathey will know
So that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know

67
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا ءَامِنًۭا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ ٱلنَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ
أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeأَنَّاannāthat Weجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāhave madeحَرَمًاḥaramana Sanctuaryءَامِنًۭاāminansecureوَيُتَخَطَّفُwayutakhaṭṭafuwhile are being taken awayٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuthe peopleمِنْminaround themحَوْلِهِمْ ۚḥawlihimaround themأَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِafabil-bāṭiliThen do in (the) falsehoodيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believeوَبِنِعْمَةِwabiniʿ'matiand in (the) Favorٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahيَكْفُرُونَyakfurūnathey disbelieve
Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve

29:67
68
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًۭى لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَمَنْwamanAnd whoأَظْلَمُaẓlamu(is) more unjustمِمَّنِmimmanithan (he) whoٱفْتَرَىٰif'tarāinventsعَلَىʿalāagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahكَذِبًاkadhibana lieأَوْaworكَذَّبَkadhabadeniesبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthلَمَّاlammāwhenجَآءَهُۥٓ ۚjāahuit has come to himأَلَيْسَalaysaIs there notفِىfīinجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellمَثْوًۭىmathwanan abodeلِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelievers
And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers

29:68
69
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoجَـٰهَدُوا۟jāhadūstriveفِينَاfīnāfor UsلَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْlanahdiyannahumWe will surely, guide themسُبُلَنَا ۚsubulanā(to) Our waysوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَمَعَlamaʿasurely (is) withٱلْمُحْسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīnathe good-doers
And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good
