بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
تَنزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelationٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Bookمِنَmina(is) fromٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمِl-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
The revelation of the Qur'an is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise
⤳ Link 39:1
2
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَٱعْبُدِ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصًۭا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, Weأَنزَلْنَآanzalnā[We] have revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthفَٱعْبُدِfa-uʿ'budiso worshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمُخْلِصًۭاmukh'liṣan(being) sincereلَّهُlahuto Himٱلدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religion
Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book, [O Muhammad], in truth. So worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion
⤳ Link 39:2
3
أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْخَالِصُ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِى مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ كَـٰذِبٌۭ كَفَّارٌۭ
أَلَاalāUnquestionablyلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahٱلدِّينُl-dīnu(is) the religionٱلْخَالِصُ ۚl-khāliṣuthe pureوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūtakeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdūnihibesides HimأَوْلِيَآءَawliyāaprotectorsمَاNotنَعْبُدُهُمْnaʿbuduhumwe worship themإِلَّاillāexceptلِيُقَرِّبُونَآliyuqarribūnāthat they may bring us nearإِلَىilātoٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahزُلْفَىٰٓzul'fā(in) nearnessإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَحْكُمُyaḥkumuwill judgeبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themفِىinمَاwhatهُمْhumtheyفِيهِfīhi[in it]يَخْتَلِفُونَ ۗyakhtalifūnadifferإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىyahdīguideمَنْman(one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]كَـٰذِبٌۭkādhibun(is) a liarكَفَّارٌۭkaffārunand a disbeliever
Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever
⤳ Link 39:3
4
لَّوْ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًۭا لَّٱصْطَفَىٰ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۖ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْوَٰحِدُ ٱلْقَهَّارُ
لَّوْlawIfأَرَادَarādaAllah (had) intendedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (had) intendedأَنantoيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhatakeوَلَدًۭاwaladana sonلَّٱصْطَفَىٰla-iṣ'ṭafāsurely, He (could) have chosenمِمَّاmimmāfrom whatيَخْلُقُyakhluquHe createsمَاwhateverيَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe willedسُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۖsub'ḥānahuGlory be to HimهُوَhuwaHeٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahٱلْوَٰحِدُl-wāḥiduthe Oneٱلْقَهَّارُl-qahāruthe Irresistible
If Allah had intended to take a son, He could have chosen from what He creates whatever He willed. Exalted is He; He is Allah, the One, the Prevailing
⤳ Link 39:4
5
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيْلِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّۭ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفَّـٰرُ
خَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthبِٱلْحَقِّ ۖbil-ḥaqiin [the] truthيُكَوِّرُyukawwiruHe wrapsٱلَّيْلَal-laylathe nightعَلَىʿalāoverٱلنَّهَارِl-nahārithe dayوَيُكَوِّرُwayukawwiruand wrapsٱلنَّهَارَl-nahārathe dayعَلَىʿalāoverٱلَّيْلِ ۖal-laylithe nightوَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He subjectedٱلشَّمْسَl-shamsathe sunوَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖwal-qamaraand the moonكُلٌّۭkulluneachيَجْرِىyajrīrunningلِأَجَلٍۢli-ajalinfor a termمُّسَمًّى ۗmusammanspecifiedأَلَاalāUnquestionablyهُوَhuwaHeٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلْغَفَّـٰرُl-ghafāruthe Oft-Forgiving
He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver
⤳ Link 39:5
6
خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ثَمَـٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍۢ ۚ يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ خَلْقًۭا مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍۢ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتٍۢ ثَلَـٰثٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصْرَفُونَ
خَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumHe created youمِّنminfromنَّفْسٍۢnafsina soulوَٰحِدَةٍۢwāḥidatinsingleثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلَjaʿalaHe madeمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itزَوْجَهَاzawjahāits mateوَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaAnd He sent downلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَminaofٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmithe cattleثَمَـٰنِيَةَthamāniyataeightأَزْوَٰجٍۢ ۚazwājinkindsيَخْلُقُكُمْyakhluqukumHe creates youفِىinبُطُونِbuṭūni(the) wombsأُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْummahātikum(of) your mothersخَلْقًۭاkhalqancreationمِّنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterخَلْقٍۢkhalqincreationفِىinظُلُمَـٰتٍۢẓulumātindarkness[es]ثَلَـٰثٍۢ ۚthalāthinthreeذَٰلِكُمُdhālikumuThatٱللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordلَهُlahufor Himٱلْمُلْكُ ۖl-mul'ku(is) the dominionلَآ(There is) noإِلَـٰهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptهُوَ ۖhuwaHeفَأَنَّىٰfa-annāThen howتُصْرَفُونَtuṣ'rafūnaare you turning away
He created you from one soul. Then He made from it its mate, and He produced for you from the grazing livestock eight mates. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs dominion. There is no deity except Him, so how are you averted
⤳ Link 39:6
7
إِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنكُمْ ۖ وَلَا يَرْضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلْكُفْرَ ۖ وَإِن تَشْكُرُوا۟ يَرْضَهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌۭ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۗ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
إِنinIfتَكْفُرُوا۟takfurūyou disbelieveفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَنِىٌّghaniyyun(is) free from needعَنكُمْ ۖʿankumof youوَلَاwalāAnd notيَرْضَىٰyarḍāHe likesلِعِبَادِهِliʿibādihiin His slavesٱلْكُفْرَ ۖl-kuf'raungratefulnessوَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَشْكُرُوا۟tashkurūyou are gratefulيَرْضَهُyarḍahuHe likes itلَكُمْ ۗlakumin youوَلَاwalāAnd notتَزِرُtaziruwill bearوَازِرَةٌۭwāziratunbearer of burdensوِزْرَwiz'ra(the) burdenأُخْرَىٰ ۗukh'rā(of) anotherثُمَّthummaThenإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّكُمrabbikumyour Lordمَّرْجِعُكُمْmarjiʿukum(is) your returnفَيُنَبِّئُكُمfayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَاbimāabout whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَعْمَلُونَ ۚtaʿmalūnadoإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heعَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) the All-Knowerبِذَاتِbidhātiof what (is) in the breastsٱلصُّدُورِl-ṣudūriof what (is) in the breasts
If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you; and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you about what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts
⤳ Link 39:7
8
۞ وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ ضُرٌّۭ دَعَا رَبَّهُۥ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُۥ نِعْمَةًۭ مِّنْهُ نَسِىَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ مِن قَبْلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًۭا لِّيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۚ قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ
۞ وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenمَسَّmassatouchesٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna[the] manضُرٌّۭḍurrunadversityدَعَاdaʿāhe callsرَبَّهُۥrabbahuhis Lordمُنِيبًاmunībanturningإِلَيْهِilayhito HimثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhāwhenخَوَّلَهُۥkhawwalahuHe bestows on himنِعْمَةًۭniʿ'matana favorمِّنْهُmin'hufrom Himselfنَسِىَnasiyahe forgetsمَا(for) whatكَانَkānahe used to callيَدْعُوٓا۟yadʿūhe used to callإِلَيْهِilayhi[to] Himمِنminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand he sets upلِلَّهِlillahito Allahأَندَادًۭاandādanrivalsلِّيُضِلَّliyuḍillato misleadعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِهِۦ ۚsabīlihiHis PathقُلْqulSayتَمَتَّعْtamattaʿEnjoyبِكُفْرِكَbikuf'rikain your disbeliefقَلِيلًا ۖqalīlan(for) a littleإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youمِنْmin(are) ofأَصْحَـٰبِaṣḥābi(the) companionsٱلنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fire
And when adversity touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone]; then when He bestows on him a favor from Himself, he forgets Him whom he called upon before, and he attributes to Allah equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire
⤳ Link 39:8
9
أَمَّنْ هُوَ قَـٰنِتٌ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ سَاجِدًۭا وَقَآئِمًۭا يَحْذَرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَيَرْجُوا۟ رَحْمَةَ رَبِّهِۦ ۗ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۗ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
أَمَّنْammanIs (one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]قَـٰنِتٌqānitun(is) devoutly obedient ءَانَآءَānāa(during) hoursٱلَّيْلِal-layli(of) the nightسَاجِدًۭاsājidanprostratingوَقَآئِمًۭاwaqāimanand standingيَحْذَرُyaḥdharufearingٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَl-ākhiratathe Hereafterوَيَرْجُوا۟wayarjūand hopingرَحْمَةَraḥmata(for the) Mercyرَبِّهِۦ ۗrabbihi(of) his LordقُلْqulSayهَلْhalAreيَسْتَوِىyastawīequalٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknowوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَ ۗyaʿlamūnaknowإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيَتَذَكَّرُyatadhakkaruwill take heedأُو۟لُوا۟ulūthose of understandingٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābithose of understanding
Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding
⤳ Link 39:9
10
قُلْ يَـٰعِبَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌۭ ۗ وَأَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةٌ ۗ إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ
قُلْqulSayيَـٰعِبَادِyāʿibādiO My slavesٱلَّذِينَalladhīna[those] whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveٱتَّقُوا۟ittaqūFearرَبَّكُمْ ۚrabbakumyour LordلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those whoأَحْسَنُوا۟aḥsanūdo goodفِىinهَـٰذِهِhādhihithisٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāworldحَسَنَةٌۭ ۗḥasanatun(is) goodوَأَرْضُwa-arḍuand the earthٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَٰسِعَةٌ ۗwāsiʿatun(is) spaciousإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيُوَفَّىyuwaffāwill be paid back in fullٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَl-ṣābirūnathe patient onesأَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir rewardبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutحِسَابٍۢḥisābinaccount
Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account
⤳ Link 39:10
11
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصًۭا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ
قُلْqulSayإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأُمِرْتُumir'tu[I] am commandedأَنْanthatأَعْبُدَaʿbudaI worshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمُخْلِصًۭاmukh'liṣan(being) sincereلَّهُlahuto Himٱلدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religion
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion
⤳ Link 39:11
12
وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَنْ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
وَأُمِرْتُwa-umir'tuAnd I am commandedلِأَنْli-anthatأَكُونَakūnaI beأَوَّلَawwala(the) firstٱلْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīna(of) those who submit
And I have been commanded to be the first [among you] of the Muslims
⤳ Link 39:12
13
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
قُلْqulSayإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearإِنْinifعَصَيْتُʿaṣaytuI disobeyرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Dayعَظِيمٍۢʿaẓīmingreat
Say, "Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day
⤳ Link 39:13
14
قُلِ ٱللَّهَ أَعْبُدُ مُخْلِصًۭا لَّهُۥ دِينِى
قُلِquliSayٱللَّهَl-lahaI worship AllahأَعْبُدُaʿbuduI worship Allahمُخْلِصًۭاmukh'liṣan(being) sincereلَّهُۥlahuto Himدِينِىdīnī(in) my religion
Say, "Allah [alone] do I worship, sincere to Him in my religion
⤳ Link 39:14
15
فَٱعْبُدُوا۟ مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْخُسْرَانُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
فَٱعْبُدُوا۟fa-uʿ'budūSo worshipمَاwhatشِئْتُمshi'tumyou willمِّنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦ ۗdūnihibesides HimقُلْqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَl-khāsirīnathe losersٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those whoخَسِرُوٓا۟khasirū(will) loseأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesوَأَهْلِيهِمْwa-ahlīhimand their familiesيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗl-qiyāmati(of) the ResurrectionأَلَاalāUnquestionablyذَٰلِكَdhālikathat هُوَhuwaitٱلْخُسْرَانُl-khus'rānu(is) the lossٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuthe clear
So worship what you will besides Him." Say, "Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss
⤳ Link 39:15
16
لَهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ ظُلَلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمِن تَحْتِهِمْ ظُلَلٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يُخَوِّفُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ عِبَادَهُۥ ۚ يَـٰعِبَادِ فَٱتَّقُونِ
لَهُمlahumFor themمِّنminfromفَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove themظُلَلٌۭẓulaluncoveringsمِّنَminaofٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fireوَمِنwaminand fromتَحْتِهِمْtaḥtihimbelow themظُلَلٌۭ ۚẓulaluncoveringsذَٰلِكَdhālika(With) thatيُخَوِّفُyukhawwifuthreatensٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِهِۦbihi[with it]عِبَادَهُۥ ۚʿibādahuHis slavesيَـٰعِبَادِyāʿibādiO My slavesفَٱتَّقُونِfa-ittaqūniSo fear Me
They will have canopies of fire above them and below them, canopies. By that Allah threatens His servants. O My servants, then fear Me
⤳ Link 39:16
17
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَنَبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ أَن يَعْبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ لَهُمُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ ۚ فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoٱجْتَنَبُوا۟ij'tanabūavoidٱلطَّـٰغُوتَl-ṭāghūtathe false godsأَنanlestيَعْبُدُوهَاyaʿbudūhāthey worship themوَأَنَابُوٓا۟wa-anābūand turnإِلَىilātoٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلْبُشْرَىٰ ۚl-bush'rā(are) glad tidingsفَبَشِّرْfabashirSo give glad tidingsعِبَادِʿibādi(to) My slaves
But those who have avoided Taghut, lest they worship it, and turned back to Allah - for them are good tidings. So give good tidings to My servants
⤳ Link 39:17
18
ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ ٱلْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُۥٓ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيَسْتَمِعُونَyastamiʿūnathey listen (to)ٱلْقَوْلَl-qawlathe Wordفَيَتَّبِعُونَfayattabiʿūnathen followأَحْسَنَهُۥٓ ۚaḥsanahuthe best thereofأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) they whomهَدَىٰهُمُhadāhumuAllah has guided themٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuAllah has guided themوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaand thoseهُمْhumare [they]أُو۟لُوا۟ulūthe men of understandingٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābithe men of understanding
Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding
⤳ Link 39:18
19
أَفَمَنْ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ كَلِمَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَفَأَنتَ تُنقِذُ مَن فِى ٱلنَّارِ
أَفَمَنْafamanThen, is (one) whoحَقَّḥaqqabecame dueعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himكَلِمَةُkalimatuthe wordٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābi(of) the punishmentأَفَأَنتَafa-antaThen can youتُنقِذُtunqidhusaveمَنman(one) whoفِى(is) inٱلنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
Then, is one who has deserved the decree of punishment [to be guided]? Then, can you save one who is in the Fire
⤳ Link 39:19
20
لَـٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌۭ مَّبْنِيَّةٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
لَـٰكِنِlākiniButٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfearرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordلَهُمْlahumfor themغُرَفٌۭghurafun(are) lofty mansionsمِّنminabove themفَوْقِهَاfawqihāabove themغُرَفٌۭghurafunlofty mansionsمَّبْنِيَّةٌۭmabniyyatunbuilt highتَجْرِىtajrīflowمِنminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihābeneath itٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖl-anhāruthe riversوَعْدَwaʿda(The) Promiseٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) AllahلَاNotيُخْلِفُyukh'lifuAllah failsٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah failsٱلْمِيعَادَl-mīʿāda(in His) promise
But those who have feared their Lord - for them are chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow. [This is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in [His] promise
⤳ Link 39:20
21
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَسَلَكَهُۥ يَنَـٰبِيعَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًۭا مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّۭا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُۥ حُطَـٰمًا ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahأَنزَلَanzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۭmāanwaterفَسَلَكَهُۥfasalakahuand He makes it flowيَنَـٰبِيعَyanābīʿa(as) springsفِىinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthثُمَّthummathenيُخْرِجُyukh'rijuHe producesبِهِۦbihiwith itزَرْعًۭاzarʿancropsمُّخْتَلِفًاmukh'talifan(of) differentأَلْوَٰنُهُۥalwānuhucolorsثُمَّthummathenيَهِيجُyahījuthey witherفَتَرَىٰهُfatarāhuand you see itمُصْفَرًّۭاmuṣ'farranturn yellowثُمَّthummathenيَجْعَلُهُۥyajʿaluhuHe makes themحُطَـٰمًا ۚḥuṭāmandebrisإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَذِكْرَىٰladhik'rāsurely, (is) a reminderلِأُو۟لِىli-ulīfor those of understandingٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِl-albābifor those of understanding
Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them [scattered] debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding
⤳ Link 39:21
22
أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَـٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلْقَـٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
أَفَمَنafamanSo is (one for) whomشَرَحَsharaḥaAllah has expandedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has expandedصَدْرَهُۥṣadrahuhis breastلِلْإِسْلَـٰمِlil'is'lāmifor Islamفَهُوَfahuwaso heعَلَىٰʿalā(is) uponنُورٍۢnūrina lightمِّنminfromرَّبِّهِۦ ۚrabbihihis LordفَوَيْلٌۭfawaylunSo woeلِّلْقَـٰسِيَةِlil'qāsiyatito (those are) hardenedقُلُوبُهُمqulūbuhumtheir heartsمِّنminfromذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembrance of Allahٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(the) remembrance of Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseفِى(are) inضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinerrorمُّبِينٍmubīninclear
So is one whose breast Allah has expanded to [accept] Islam and he is upon a light from his Lord [like one whose heart rejects it]? Then woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah. Those are in manifest error
⤳ Link 39:22
23
ٱللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ كِتَـٰبًۭا مُّتَشَـٰبِهًۭا مَّثَانِىَ تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahنَزَّلَnazzalahas revealedأَحْسَنَaḥsana(the) bestٱلْحَدِيثِl-ḥadīthi(of) [the] statement كِتَـٰبًۭاkitābana Bookمُّتَشَـٰبِهًۭاmutashābihan(its parts) resembling each otherمَّثَانِىَmathāniyaoft-repeatedتَقْشَعِرُّtaqshaʿirruShiverمِنْهُmin'hufrom itجُلُودُjulūdu(the) skinsٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoيَخْشَوْنَyakhshawnafearرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordثُمَّthummathenتَلِينُtalīnurelaxجُلُودُهُمْjulūduhumtheir skinsوَقُلُوبُهُمْwaqulūbuhumand their heartsإِلَىٰilāatذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) AllahذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatهُدَىhudā(is the) guidanceٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahيَهْدِىyahdīHe guidesبِهِۦbihiwith itمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe willsوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِyuḍ'liliAllah lets go astrayٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astrayفَمَاfamāthen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنْminanyهَادٍhādinguide
Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide
⤳ Link 39:23
24
أَفَمَن يَتَّقِى بِوَجْهِهِۦ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ وَقِيلَ لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ
أَفَمَنafamanThen (is) he whoيَتَّقِىyattaqīwill shieldبِوَجْهِهِۦbiwajhihiwith his faceسُوٓءَsūa(the) worstٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishmentيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚl-qiyāmati(of) the ResurrectionوَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be saidلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَlilẓẓālimīnato the wrongdoersذُوقُوا۟dhūqūTasteمَاwhatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَكْسِبُونَtaksibūnaearn
Then is he who will shield with his face the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection [like one secure from it]? And it will be said to the wrongdoers, "Taste what you used to earn
⤳ Link 39:24
25
كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
كَذَّبَkadhabaDeniedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themفَأَتَىٰهُمُfa-atāhumuso came upon themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentمِنْminfromحَيْثُḥaythuwhereلَاnotيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
Those before them denied, and punishment came upon them from where they did not perceive
⤳ Link 39:25
26
فَأَذَاقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخِزْىَ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
فَأَذَاقَهُمُfa-adhāqahumuSo Allah made themٱللَّهُl-lahuSo Allah made themٱلْخِزْىَl-khiz'yathe disgraceفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayatithe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا ۖl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَلَعَذَابُwalaʿadhābuand certainly (the) punishmentٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafterأَكْبَرُ ۚakbaru(is) greaterلَوْlawifكَانُوا۟kānūtheyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknew
So Allah made them taste disgrace in worldly life. But the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew
⤳ Link 39:26
27
وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍۢ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd indeedضَرَبْنَاḍarabnāWe have set forthلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor peopleفِىinهَـٰذَاhādhāthisٱلْقُرْءَانِl-qur'āniQuranمِنminofكُلِّkullieveryمَثَلٍۢmathalinexampleلَّعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَتَذَكَّرُونَyatadhakkarūnatake heed
And We have certainly presented for the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example - that they might remember
⤳ Link 39:27
28
قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِى عِوَجٍۢ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ
قُرْءَانًاqur'ānanA Quranعَرَبِيًّاʿarabiyyan(in) Arabicغَيْرَghayrawithoutذِىdhīanyعِوَجٍۢʿiwajincrookednessلَّعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَتَّقُونَyattaqūna(become) righteous
[It is] an Arabic Qur'an, without any deviance that they might become righteous
⤳ Link 39:28
29
ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًۭا رَّجُلًۭا فِيهِ شُرَكَآءُ مُتَشَـٰكِسُونَ وَرَجُلًۭا سَلَمًۭا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
ضَرَبَḍarabaAllah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah sets forthمَثَلًۭاmathalanan example رَّجُلًۭاrajulana manفِيهِfīhiabout himشُرَكَآءُshurakāupartnersمُتَشَـٰكِسُونَmutashākisūnaquarrelingوَرَجُلًۭاwarajulanand a manسَلَمًۭاsalaman(belonging) exclusivelyلِّرَجُلٍlirajulinto one man هَلْhalareيَسْتَوِيَانِyastawiyānithey both equalمَثَلًا ۚmathalan(in) comparisonٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praiseلِلَّهِ ۚlillahi(be) to AllahبَلْbalNayأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
Allah presents an example: a slave owned by quarreling partners and another belonging exclusively to one man - are they equal in comparison? Praise be to Allah! But most of them do not know
⤳ Link 39:29
30
إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌۭ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ
إِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youمَيِّتٌۭmayyitunwill dieوَإِنَّهُمwa-innahumand indeed, theyمَّيِّتُونَmayyitūna(will also) die
Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die
⤳ Link 39:30
31
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ
ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionعِندَʿindabeforeرَبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lordتَخْتَصِمُونَtakhtaṣimūnawill dispute
Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, will dispute
⤳ Link 39:31
32
۞ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَبَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ إِذْ جَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًۭى لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
۞ فَمَنْfamanThen whoأَظْلَمُaẓlamu(is) more unjustمِمَّنmimmanthan (one) whoكَذَبَkadhabaliesعَلَىʿalāagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَكَذَّبَwakadhabaand deniesبِٱلصِّدْقِbil-ṣid'qithe truthإِذْidhwhenجَآءَهُۥٓ ۚjāahuit comes to himأَلَيْسَalaysaIs (there) notفِىinجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellمَثْوًۭىmathwanan abodeلِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelievers
So who is more unjust than one who lies about Allah and denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a residence for the disbelievers
⤳ Link 39:32
33
وَٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦٓ ۙ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ
وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīAnd the one whoجَآءَjāabroughtبِٱلصِّدْقِbil-ṣid'qithe truthوَصَدَّقَwaṣaddaqaand believedبِهِۦٓ ۙbihiin itأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْمُتَّقُونَl-mutaqūna(are) the righteous
And the one who has brought the truth and [they who] believed in it - those are the righteous
⤳ Link 39:33
34
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
لَهُمlahumFor themمَّا(is) whatيَشَآءُونَyashāūnathey wishعِندَʿindawithرَبِّهِمْ ۚrabbihimtheir LordذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatجَزَآءُjazāu(is the) rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīna(of) the good-doers
They will have whatever they desire with their Lord. That is the reward of the doers of good
⤳ Link 39:34
35
لِيُكَفِّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَسْوَأَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
لِيُكَفِّرَliyukaffiraThat Allah will removeٱللَّهُl-lahuThat Allah will removeعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themأَسْوَأَaswa-a(the) worstٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) whatعَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey didوَيَجْزِيَهُمْwayajziyahumand reward themأَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir dueبِأَحْسَنِbi-aḥsanifor (the) bestٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
That Allah may remove from them the worst of what they did and reward them their due for the best of what they used to do
⤳ Link 39:35
36
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبْدَهُۥ ۖ وَيُخَوِّفُونَكَ بِٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍۢ
أَلَيْسَalaysaIs notٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِكَافٍbikāfinsufficientعَبْدَهُۥ ۖʿabdahu(for) His slaveوَيُخَوِّفُونَكَwayukhawwifūnakaAnd they threaten youبِٱلَّذِينَbi-alladhīnawith thoseمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦ ۚdūnihibesides HimوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِyuḍ'liliAllah lets go astray ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astray فَمَاfamāthen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنْminanyهَادٍۢhādinguide
Is not Allah sufficient for His Servant [Prophet Muhammad]? And [yet], they threaten you with those [they worship] other than Him. And whoever Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide
⤳ Link 39:36
37
وَمَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّضِلٍّ ۗ أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِعَزِيزٍۢ ذِى ٱنتِقَامٍۢ
وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيَهْدِyahdiAllah guidesٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah guidesفَمَاfamāthen notلَهُۥlahufor himمِنminanyمُّضِلٍّ ۗmuḍillinmisleaderأَلَيْسَalaysaIs notٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahبِعَزِيزٍۢbiʿazīzinAll-MightyذِىdhīAll-Able of retributionٱنتِقَامٍۢintiqāminAll-Able of retribution
And whoever Allah guides - for him there is no misleader. Is not Allah Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution
⤳ Link 39:37
38
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلْ هُنَّ كَـٰشِفَـٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦٓ أَوْ أَرَادَنِى بِرَحْمَةٍ هَلْ هُنَّ مُمْسِكَـٰتُ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ قُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ عَلَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ
وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنْmanwhoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnaSurely, they will sayٱللَّهُ ۚl-lahuAllahقُلْqulSayأَفَرَءَيْتُمafara-aytumThen do you seeمَّاwhatتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou invokeمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِنْinifأَرَادَنِىَarādaniyaAllah intended for meٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah intended for meبِضُرٍّbiḍurrinharmهَلْhalareهُنَّhunnatheyكَـٰشِفَـٰتُkāshifāturemoversضُرِّهِۦٓḍurrihi(of) harm (from) Himأَوْaworأَرَادَنِىarādanīif He intended for meبِرَحْمَةٍbiraḥmatinmercyهَلْhalareهُنَّhunnatheyمُمْسِكَـٰتُmum'sikātuwithholdersرَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚraḥmatihi(of) His mercyقُلْqulSayحَسْبِىَḥasbiyaSufficient (is) Allah for meٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuSufficient (is) Allah for meعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon Himيَتَوَكَّلُyatawakkaluput trustٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَl-mutawakilūnathose who trust
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; upon Him [alone] rely the [wise] reliers
⤳ Link 39:38
39
قُلْ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَـٰمِلٌۭ ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
قُلْqulSayيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleٱعْمَلُوا۟iʿ'malūWorkعَلَىٰʿalā(according) toمَكَانَتِكُمْmakānatikumyour positionإِنِّىinnīindeed, I amعَـٰمِلٌۭ ۖʿāmilunworkingفَسَوْفَfasawfathen soonتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know
Say, "O my people, work according to your position, [for] indeed, I am working; and you are going to know
⤳ Link 39:39
40
مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌۭ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌۭ مُّقِيمٌ
مَنman(Upon) whomيَأْتِيهِyatīhiwill comeعَذَابٌۭʿadhābuna punishmentيُخْزِيهِyukh'zīhidisgracing himوَيَحِلُّwayaḥilluand descendsعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himعَذَابٌۭʿadhābuna punishmentمُّقِيمٌmuqīmuneverlasting
To whom will come a torment disgracing him and on whom will descend an enduring punishment
⤳ Link 39:40
41
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ لِلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ
إِنَّآinnāIndeed WeأَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe revealedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor [the] mankindبِٱلْحَقِّ ۖbil-ḥaqiin truthفَمَنِfamaniSo whoeverٱهْتَدَىٰih'tadāaccepts guidanceفَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖfalinafsihithen (it is) for his soulوَمَنwamanand whoeverضَلَّḍallagoes astrayفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيَضِلُّyaḍilluhe straysعَلَيْهَا ۖʿalayhāagainst his (soul)وَمَآwamāAnd notأَنتَantayouعَلَيْهِمʿalayhim(are) over themبِوَكِيلٍbiwakīlina manager
Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager over them
⤳ Link 39:41
42
ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahيَتَوَفَّىyatawaffātakesٱلْأَنفُسَl-anfusathe soulsحِينَḥīna(at the) timeمَوْتِهَاmawtihā(of) their deathوَٱلَّتِىwa-allatīand the one whoلَمْlam(does) notتَمُتْtamutdieفِىinمَنَامِهَا ۖmanāmihātheir sleepفَيُمْسِكُfayum'sikuThen He keepsٱلَّتِىallatīthe one whomقَضَىٰqaḍāHe has decreedعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāfor themٱلْمَوْتَl-mawtathe deathوَيُرْسِلُwayur'siluand sendsٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓl-ukh'rāthe othersإِلَىٰٓilāforأَجَلٍۢajalina termمُّسَمًّى ۚmusammanspecifiedإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho ponder
Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought
⤳ Link 39:42
43
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ شُفَعَآءَ ۚ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ
أَمِamiOrٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūhave they takenمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahشُفَعَآءَ ۚshufaʿāaintercessorsقُلْqulSayأَوَلَوْawalawEven thoughكَانُوا۟kānūthey wereلَاnotيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnapossessingشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَلَاwalāand notيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnathey understand
Or have they taken other than Allah as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason
⤳ Link 39:43
44
قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ جَمِيعًۭا ۖ لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
قُلqulSayلِّلَّهِlillahiTo Allah (belongs)ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُl-shafāʿatuthe intercessionجَمِيعًۭا ۖjamīʿanallلَّهُۥlahuFor Himمُلْكُmul'ku(is the) dominionٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖwal-arḍiand the earthثُمَّthummaThenإِلَيْهِilayhito Himتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned
⤳ Link 39:44
45
وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ ٱشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenذُكِرَdhukiraAllah is mentionedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah is mentionedوَحْدَهُwaḥdahuAloneٱشْمَأَزَّتْish'ma-azzatshrink with aversionقُلُوبُqulūbu(the) heartsٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterوَإِذَاwa-idhāand whenذُكِرَdhukiraare mentionedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathoseمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdūnihibesides HimإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumTheyيَسْتَبْشِرُونَyastabshirūnarejoice
And when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when those [worshipped] other than Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice
⤳ Link 39:45
46
قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ عَـٰلِمَ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ أَنتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِى مَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
قُلِquliSayٱللَّهُمَّl-lahumaO AllahفَاطِرَfāṭiraCreatorٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthعَـٰلِمَʿālimaKnowerٱلْغَيْبِl-ghaybi(of) the unseenوَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِwal-shahādatiand the witnessedأَنتَantaYouتَحْكُمُtaḥkumuwill judgeبَيْنَbaynabetweenعِبَادِكَʿibādikaYour slavesفِىinمَاwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toفِيهِfīhithereinيَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
Say, "O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between your servants concerning that over which they used to differ
⤳ Link 39:46
47
وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا وَمِثْلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لَٱفْتَدَوْا۟ بِهِۦ مِن سُوٓءِ ٱلْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ وَبَدَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَحْتَسِبُونَ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifأَنَّannaAnd ifلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnathose whoظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūdid wrongمَا(had) whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallوَمِثْلَهُۥwamith'lahuand (the) like of itمَعَهُۥmaʿahuwith itلَٱفْتَدَوْا۟la-if'tadawthey would ransomبِهِۦbihiwith itمِنminfromسُوٓءِsūi(the) evilٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābi(of) the punishmentيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚl-qiyāmati(of) the ResurrectionوَبَدَاwabadāAnd (will) appearلَهُمlahumto themمِّنَminafromٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَاwhatلَمْlamnotيَكُونُوا۟yakūnūthey hadيَحْتَسِبُونَyaḥtasibūnataken into account
And if those who did wrong had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby from the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allah that which they had not taken into account
⤳ Link 39:47
48
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
وَبَدَاwabadāAnd will become apparentلَهُمْlahumto themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evilsمَا(of) whatكَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey earnedوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand will surroundبِهِمbihimthemمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toبِهِۦbihi[in it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock
And there will appear to them the evils they had earned, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule
⤳ Link 39:48
49
فَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ ضُرٌّۭ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَـٰهُ نِعْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍۭ ۚ بَلْ هِىَ فِتْنَةٌۭ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
فَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenمَسَّmassatouchesٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna[the] manضُرٌّۭḍurrunadversityدَعَانَاdaʿānāhe calls upon UsثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhāwhenخَوَّلْنَـٰهُkhawwalnāhuWe bestow (on) himنِعْمَةًۭniʿ'matana favorمِّنَّاminnāfrom Usقَالَqālahe saysإِنَّمَآinnamāOnlyأُوتِيتُهُۥūtītuhuI have been given itعَلَىٰʿalāforعِلْمٍۭ ۚʿil'minknowledgeبَلْbalNayهِىَhiyaitفِتْنَةٌۭfit'natun(is) a trialوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَهُمْaktharahummost of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And when adversity touches man, he calls upon Us; then when We bestow on him a favor from Us, he says, "I have only been given it because of [my] knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know
⤳ Link 39:49
50
قَدْ قَالَهَا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
قَدْqadIndeedقَالَهَاqālahāsaid itٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathoseمِنminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themفَمَآfamābut (did) notأَغْنَىٰaghnāavailعَنْهُمʿanhumthemمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَكْسِبُونَyaksibūnaearn
Those before them had already said it, but they were not availed by what they used to earn
⤳ Link 39:50
51
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
فَأَصَابَهُمْfa-aṣābahumThen struck themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evilsمَا(of) whatكَسَبُوا۟ ۚkasabūthey earnedوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūhave wrongedمِنْminofهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāitheseسَيُصِيبُهُمْsayuṣībuhumwill strike themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evilsمَا(of) whatكَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey earnedوَمَاwamāand notهُمhumtheyبِمُعْجِزِينَbimuʿ'jizīnawill be able to escape
And the evil consequences of what they earned struck them. And those who have wronged of these [people] will be afflicted by the evil consequences of what they earned; and they will not cause failure
⤳ Link 39:51
52
أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَعْلَمُوٓا۟yaʿlamūthey knowأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَبْسُطُyabsuṭuextendsٱلرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionلِمَنlimanfor whomيَشَآءُyashāuHe willsوَيَقْدِرُ ۚwayaqdiruand restrictsإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
Do they not know that Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe
⤳ Link 39:52
53
۞ قُلْ يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
۞ قُلْqulSayيَـٰعِبَادِىَyāʿibādiyaO My slavesٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoأَسْرَفُوا۟asrafūhave transgressedعَلَىٰٓʿalāagainstأَنفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesلَا(do) notتَقْنَطُوا۟taqnaṭūdespairمِنminofرَّحْمَةِraḥmati(the) Mercyٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) AllahإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَغْفِرُyaghfiruforgivesٱلذُّنُوبَl-dhunūbathe sinsجَمِيعًا ۚjamīʿanallإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed HeهُوَhuwaHeٱلْغَفُورُl-ghafūru(is) the Oft-Forgivingٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful
⤳ Link 39:53
54
وَأَنِيبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
وَأَنِيبُوٓا۟wa-anībūAnd turnإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lordوَأَسْلِمُوا۟wa-aslimūand submitلَهُۥlahuto Himمِنminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنan[that]يَأْتِيَكُمُyatiyakumucomes to youٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentثُمَّthummathenلَاnotتُنصَرُونَtunṣarūnayou will be helped
And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped
⤳ Link 39:54
55
وَٱتَّبِعُوٓا۟ أَحْسَنَ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بَغْتَةًۭ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
وَٱتَّبِعُوٓا۟wa-ittabiʿūAnd followأَحْسَنَaḥsana(the) bestمَآ(of) whatأُنزِلَunzilais revealedإِلَيْكُمilaykumto youمِّنminfromرَّبِّكُمrabbikumyour Lordمِّنminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنan[that]يَأْتِيَكُمُyatiyakumucomes to youٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentبَغْتَةًۭbaghtatansuddenlyوَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile youلَا(do) notتَشْعُرُونَtashʿurūnaperceive
And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive
⤳ Link 39:55
56
أَن تَقُولَ نَفْسٌۭ يَـٰحَسْرَتَىٰ عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ فِى جَنۢبِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ ٱلسَّـٰخِرِينَ
أَنanLestتَقُولَtaqūlashould sayنَفْسٌۭnafsuna soulيَـٰحَسْرَتَىٰyāḥasratāOh! My regretعَلَىٰʿalāoverمَاwhatفَرَّطتُfarraṭtuI neglectedفِىinجَنۢبِjanbiregard (to)ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَإِنwa-inand thatكُنتُkuntuI wasلَمِنَlaminasurely, amongٱلسَّـٰخِرِينَl-sākhirīnathe mockers
Lest a soul should say, "Oh [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah and that I was among the mockers
⤳ Link 39:56
57
أَوْ تَقُولَ لَوْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هَدَىٰنِى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
أَوْawOrتَقُولَtaqūlait should sayلَوْlawIf thatأَنَّannaIf thatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahهَدَىٰنِىhadānī(had) guided meلَكُنتُlakuntusurely, I (would) have beenمِنَminaamongٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous
⤳ Link 39:57
58
أَوْ تَقُولَ حِينَ تَرَى ٱلْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى كَرَّةًۭ فَأَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
أَوْawOrتَقُولَtaqūlait should sayحِينَḥīnawhenتَرَىtarāit seesٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentلَوْlawIfأَنَّannaonlyلِىfor meكَرَّةًۭkarratananother chanceفَأَكُونَfa-akūnathen I could beمِنَminaamongٱلْمُحْسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīnathe good-doers
Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good
⤳ Link 39:58
59
بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَآءَتْكَ ءَايَـٰتِى فَكَذَّبْتَ بِهَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
بَلَىٰbalāYesقَدْqadverilyجَآءَتْكَjāatkacame to youءَايَـٰتِىāyātīMy Versesفَكَذَّبْتَfakadhabtabut you deniedبِهَاbihāthemوَٱسْتَكْبَرْتَwa-is'takbartaand were arrogantوَكُنتَwakuntaand you wereمِنَminaamongٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers
⤳ Link 39:59
60
وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ تَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وُجُوهُهُم مُّسْوَدَّةٌ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًۭى لِّلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionتَرَىtarāyou will seeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَذَبُوا۟kadhabūliedعَلَىʿalāaboutٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوُجُوهُهُمwujūhuhumtheir facesمُّسْوَدَّةٌ ۚmus'waddatun(will be) blackenedأَلَيْسَalaysaIs (there) notفِىinجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellمَثْوًۭىmathwanan abodeلِّلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَlil'mutakabbirīnafor the arrogant
And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant
⤳ Link 39:60
61
وَيُنَجِّى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ بِمَفَازَتِهِمْ لَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلسُّوٓءُ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
وَيُنَجِّىwayunajjīAnd Allah will deliverٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah will deliverٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfeared (Him)بِمَفَازَتِهِمْbimafāzatihimto their place of salvationلَاnotيَمَسُّهُمُyamassuhumuwill touch themٱلسُّوٓءُl-sūuthe evilوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيَحْزَنُونَyaḥzanūnawill grieve
And Allah will save those who feared Him by their attainment; no evil will touch them, nor will they grieve
⤳ Link 39:61
62
ٱللَّهُ خَـٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَكِيلٌۭ
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahخَـٰلِقُkhāliqu(is the) Creatorكُلِّkulli(of) allشَىْءٍۢ ۖshayinthingsوَهُوَwahuwaand Heعَلَىٰʿalā(is) overكُلِّkulliallشَىْءٍۢshayinthingsوَكِيلٌۭwakīluna Guardian
Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs
⤳ Link 39:62
63
لَّهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
لَّهُۥlahuFor Himمَقَالِيدُmaqālīdu(are the) keysٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗwal-arḍiand the earthوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin (the) Versesٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathose هُمُhumutheyٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And they who disbelieve in the verses of Allah - it is those who are the losers
⤳ Link 39:63
64
قُلْ أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَأْمُرُوٓنِّىٓ أَعْبُدُ أَيُّهَا ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ
قُلْqulSayأَفَغَيْرَafaghayraIs (it) other thanٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahتَأْمُرُوٓنِّىٓtamurūnnīyou order meأَعْبُدُaʿbudu(to) worshipأَيُّهَاayyuhāOٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَl-jāhilūnaignorant ones
Say, [O Muhammad], "Is it other than Allah that you order me to worship, O ignorant ones
⤳ Link 39:64
65
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأُوحِىَūḥiyait has been revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youوَإِلَىwa-ilāand toٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before youقَبْلِكَqablika(were) before youلَئِنْla-inifأَشْرَكْتَashraktayou associate (with Allah)لَيَحْبَطَنَّlayaḥbaṭannasurely, will become worthlessعَمَلُكَʿamalukayour deedsوَلَتَكُونَنَّwalatakūnannaand you will surely beمِنَminaamongٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَl-khāsirīnathe losers
And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers
⤳ Link 39:65
66
بَلِ ٱللَّهَ فَٱعْبُدْ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ
بَلِbaliNayٱللَّهَl-lahaBut worship Allahفَٱعْبُدْfa-uʿ'budBut worship Allahوَكُنwakunand beمِّنَminaamongٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَl-shākirīnathe thankful ones
Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful
⤳ Link 39:66
67
وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًۭا قَبْضَتُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ مَطْوِيَّـٰتٌۢ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notقَدَرُوا۟qadarūthey appraisedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahحَقَّḥaqqa(with) trueقَدْرِهِۦqadrihiappraisalوَٱلْأَرْضُwal-arḍuwhile the earthجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanentirelyقَبْضَتُهُۥqabḍatuhu(will be) in His Gripيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionوَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُwal-samāwātuand the heavensمَطْوِيَّـٰتٌۢmaṭwiyyātun(will be) foldedبِيَمِينِهِۦ ۚbiyamīnihiin His Right Handسُبْحَـٰنَهُۥsub'ḥānahuGlory be to HimوَتَعَـٰلَىٰwataʿālāAnd High is Heعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate (with Him)
They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be [within] His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him
⤳ Link 39:67
68
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌۭ يَنظُرُونَ
وَنُفِخَwanufikhaAnd (will) be blownفِى[in]ٱلصُّورِl-ṣūrithe trumpetفَصَعِقَfaṣaʿiqathen (will) fall deadمَنmanwhoeverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَنwamanand whoeverفِى(is) onٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthإِلَّاillāexceptمَنmanwhomشَآءَshāaAllah willsٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuAllah willsثُمَّthummaThenنُفِخَnufikha(it will) be blownفِيهِfīhi[in it]أُخْرَىٰukh'rāa second timeفَإِذَاfa-idhāand beholdهُمْhumTheyقِيَامٌۭqiyāmun(will be) standingيَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnawaiting
And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on
⤳ Link 39:68
69
وَأَشْرَقَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا وَوُضِعَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ وَجِا۟ىٓءَ بِٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
وَأَشْرَقَتِwa-ashraqatiAnd (will) shineٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthبِنُورِbinūriwith (the) lightرَبِّهَاrabbihā(of) its Lordوَوُضِعَwawuḍiʿaand (will) be placedٱلْكِتَـٰبُl-kitābuthe Recordوَجِا۟ىٓءَwajīaand (will) be broughtبِٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَbil-nabiyīnathe Prophetsوَٱلشُّهَدَآءِwal-shuhadāiand the witnessesوَقُضِىَwaquḍiyaand it (will) be judgedبَيْنَهُمbaynahumbetween themبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاwill not be wrongedيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnawill not be wronged
And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the record [of deeds] will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them in truth, and they will not be wronged
⤳ Link 39:69
70
وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ
وَوُفِّيَتْwawuffiyatAnd (will) be paid in fullكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍۢnafsinsoulمَّاwhatعَمِلَتْʿamilatit didوَهُوَwahuwaand Heأَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is the) Best-Knowerبِمَاbimāof whatيَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnathey do
And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do
⤳ Link 39:70
71
وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَا ۚ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَـٰكِنْ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلْعَذَابِ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَسِيقَwasīqaAnd (will) be drivenٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelieveإِلَىٰilātoجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellزُمَرًا ۖzumaran(in) groupsحَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenجَآءُوهَاjāūhāthey reach itفُتِحَتْfutiḥat(will) be openedأَبْوَٰبُهَاabwābuhāits gatesوَقَالَwaqālaand (will) sayلَهُمْlahumto themخَزَنَتُهَآkhazanatuhāits keepersأَلَمْalamDid notيَأْتِكُمْyatikumcome to youرُسُلٌۭrusulunMessengersمِّنكُمْminkumfrom youيَتْلُونَyatlūnarecitingعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumto youءَايَـٰتِāyāti(the) Versesرَبِّكُمْrabbikum(of) your Lordوَيُنذِرُونَكُمْwayundhirūnakumand warning youلِقَآءَliqāa(of the) meetingيَوْمِكُمْyawmikum(of) your Dayهَـٰذَا ۚhādhāthisقَالُوا۟qālūThey (will) sayبَلَىٰbalāYesوَلَـٰكِنْwalākinButحَقَّتْḥaqqathas been justifiedكَلِمَةُkalimatu(the) wordٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābi(of) punishmentعَلَىʿalāagainstٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers
⤳ Link 39:71
72
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
قِيلَqīlaIt will be saidٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ud'khulūEnterأَبْوَٰبَabwāba(the) gatesجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hellخَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide eternallyفِيهَا ۖfīhāthereinفَبِئْسَfabi'saand wretched isمَثْوَىmathwā(the) abodeٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَl-mutakabirīna(of) the arrogant
[To them] it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant
⤳ Link 39:72
73
وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْجَنَّةِ زُمَرًا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوهَا خَـٰلِدِينَ
وَسِيقَwasīqaAnd (will) be drivenٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfearedرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordإِلَىilātoٱلْجَنَّةِl-janatiParadiseزُمَرًا ۖzumaran(in) groupsحَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenجَآءُوهَاjāūhāthey reach itوَفُتِحَتْwafutiḥatand (will) be openedأَبْوَٰبُهَاabwābuhāits gatesوَقَالَwaqālaand (will) sayلَهُمْlahumto themخَزَنَتُهَاkhazanatuhāits keepersسَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeace beعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youطِبْتُمْṭib'tumyou have done wellفَٱدْخُلُوهَاfa-ud'khulūhāso enter itخَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide eternally
But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter]
⤳ Link 39:73
74
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُۥ وَأَوْرَثَنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَآءُ ۖ فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they will sayٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praiseلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to AllahٱلَّذِىalladhīWhoصَدَقَنَاṣadaqanāhas fulfilled for usوَعْدَهُۥwaʿdahuHis promiseوَأَوْرَثَنَاwa-awrathanāand has made us inheritٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthنَتَبَوَّأُnatabawwa-uwe may settleمِنَmina[from]ٱلْجَنَّةِl-janati(in) Paradiseحَيْثُḥaythuwhereverنَشَآءُ ۖnashāuwe wishفَنِعْمَfaniʿ'maSo excellentأَجْرُajru(is the) rewardٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَl-ʿāmilīna(of) the workers
And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers
⤳ Link 39:74
75
وَتَرَى ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ حَآفِّينَ مِنْ حَوْلِ ٱلْعَرْشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَقِيلَ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَتَرَىwatarāAnd you will seeٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَl-malāikatathe Angelsحَآفِّينَḥāffīnasurroundingمِنْmin[from]حَوْلِḥawliaroundٱلْعَرْشِl-ʿarshithe Throneيُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥūnaglorifyingبِحَمْدِbiḥamdi(the) praiseرَبِّهِمْ ۖrabbihim(of) their LordوَقُضِىَwaquḍiyaAnd (will) be judgedبَيْنَهُمbaynahumbetween themبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَقِيلَwaqīlaand it will be saidٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praise beلِلَّهِlillahito Allahرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And you will see the angels surrounding the Throne, exalting [Allah] with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said, "[All] praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds
