سُورَةُ النَّحۡلِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
أَتَىٰٓatāWill comeأَمْرُamru(the) command of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) command of Allahفَلَاfalāso (do) notتَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ ۚtastaʿjilūhu(be) impatient for itسُبْحَـٰنَهُۥsub'ḥānahuGlorified is Heوَتَعَـٰلَىٰwataʿālāand Exalted (is) Heعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
The command of Allah is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him
⤳ Link 16:1
2
يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ
يُنَزِّلُyunazziluHe sends downٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَl-malāikatathe Angelsبِٱلرُّوحِbil-rūḥiwith the inspirationمِنْminofأَمْرِهِۦamrihiHis CommandعَلَىٰʿalāuponمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُyashāuHe willsمِنْminofعِبَادِهِۦٓʿibādihiHis slavesأَنْanthatأَنذِرُوٓا۟andhirūWarnأَنَّهُۥannahuthat [He]لَآ(there is) noإِلَـٰهَilāhagodإِلَّآillāexceptأَنَا۠anāMeفَٱتَّقُونِfa-ittaqūniso fear Me
He sends down the angels, with the inspiration of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], "Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me
⤳ Link 16:2
3
خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ تَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
خَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthبِٱلْحَقِّ ۚbil-ḥaqiin truthتَعَـٰلَىٰtaʿālāExalted is Heعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
He created the heavens and earth in truth. High is He above what they associate with Him
⤳ Link 16:3
4
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
خَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insānathe human kindمِنminfromنُّطْفَةٍۢnuṭ'fatina minute quantity of semenفَإِذَاfa-idhāthen beholdهُوَhuwaheخَصِيمٌۭkhaṣīmun(is) an opponentمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once, he is a clear adversary
⤳ Link 16:4
5
وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَ خَلَقَهَا ۗ لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌۭ وَمَنَـٰفِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَwal-anʿāmaAnd the cattleخَلَقَهَا ۗkhalaqahāHe created themلَكُمْlakumfor youفِيهَاfīhāin themدِفْءٌۭdif'on(is) warmthوَمَنَـٰفِعُwamanāfiʿuand benefitsوَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand from themتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat
⤳ Link 16:5
6
وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ
وَلَكُمْwalakumAnd for youفِيهَاfīhāin themجَمَالٌjamālun(is) beautyحِينَḥīnawhenتُرِيحُونَturīḥūnayou bring them inوَحِينَwaḥīnaand whenتَسْرَحُونَtasraḥūnayou take them out
And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture]
⤳ Link 16:6
7
وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍۢ لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ بَـٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلْأَنفُسِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
وَتَحْمِلُwataḥmiluAnd they carryأَثْقَالَكُمْathqālakumyour loadsإِلَىٰilātoبَلَدٍۢbaladina landلَّمْlamnotتَكُونُوا۟takūnūyou couldبَـٰلِغِيهِbālighīhireach itإِلَّاillāexceptبِشِقِّbishiqqiwith great troubleٱلْأَنفُسِ ۚl-anfusi(to) yourselvesإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّكُمْrabbakumyour Lordلَرَءُوفٌۭlaraūfunsurely is Most KindرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful
⤳ Link 16:7
8
وَٱلْخَيْلَ وَٱلْبِغَالَ وَٱلْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةًۭ ۚ وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
وَٱلْخَيْلَwal-khaylaAnd horsesوَٱلْبِغَالَwal-bighālaand mulesوَٱلْحَمِيرَwal-ḥamīraand donkeysلِتَرْكَبُوهَاlitarkabūhāfor you to ride themوَزِينَةًۭ ۚwazīnatanand (as) adornmentوَيَخْلُقُwayakhluquAnd He createsمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou know
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know
⤳ Link 16:8
9
وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصْدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٌۭ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
وَعَلَىwaʿalāAnd uponٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahقَصْدُqaṣdu(is) the directionٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīli(of) the wayوَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand among themجَآئِرٌۭ ۚjāirun(are) crookedوَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَآءَshāaHe willedلَهَدَىٰكُمْlahadākumsurely He would have guided youأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
And upon Allah is the direction of the [right] way, and among the various paths are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all
⤳ Link 16:9
10
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ ۖ لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌۭ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌۭ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ
هُوَhuwaHeٱلَّذِىٓalladhī(is) the One Whoأَنزَلَanzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۭ ۖmāanwaterلَّكُمlakumfor youمِّنْهُmin'huof itشَرَابٌۭsharābun(is) drinkوَمِنْهُwamin'huand from itشَجَرٌۭshajarun(grows) vegetationفِيهِfīhiin whichتُسِيمُونَtusīmūnayou pasture your cattle
It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]
⤳ Link 16:10
11
يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرْعَ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
يُنۢبِتُyunbituHe causes to growلَكُمlakumfor youبِهِbihiwith itٱلزَّرْعَl-zarʿathe cropsوَٱلزَّيْتُونَwal-zaytūnaand the olivesوَٱلنَّخِيلَwal-nakhīlaand the date-palmsوَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَwal-aʿnābaand the grapesوَمِنwaminand ofكُلِّkullievery kindٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗl-thamarāti(of) fruitsإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatansurely (is) a signلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho reflect
He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought
⤳ Link 16:11
12
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ
وَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He has subjectedلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلَّيْلَal-laylathe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the dayوَٱلشَّمْسَwal-shamsaand the sunوَٱلْقَمَرَ ۖwal-qamaraand the moonوَٱلنُّجُومُwal-nujūmuand the starsمُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢmusakharātun(are) subjectedبِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗbi-amrihiby His commandإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use reason
And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason
⤳ Link 16:12
13
وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd whateverذَرَأَdhara-aHe multipliedلَكُمْlakumfor youفِىinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمُخْتَلِفًاmukh'talifan(of) varyingأَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ ۗalwānuhucolorsإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatansurely (is) a signلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَذَّكَّرُونَyadhakkarūnawho remember
And [He has subjected] whatever He multiplied for you on the earth of varying colors. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who remember
⤳ Link 16:13
14
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا۟ مِنْهُ لَحْمًۭا طَرِيًّۭا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةًۭ تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Whoسَخَّرَsakharasubjectedٱلْبَحْرَl-baḥrathe seaلِتَأْكُلُوا۟litakulūfor you to eatمِنْهُmin'hufrom itلَحْمًۭاlaḥmanmeatطَرِيًّۭاṭariyyanfreshوَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟watastakhrijūand that you bring forthمِنْهُmin'hufrom itحِلْيَةًۭḥil'yatanornamentsتَلْبَسُونَهَاtalbasūnahā(that) you wear themوَتَرَىwatarāAnd you seeٱلْفُلْكَl-ful'kathe shipsمَوَاخِرَmawākhiraploughingفِيهِfīhithrough itوَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟walitabtaghūand that you may seekمِنminofفَضْلِهِۦfaḍlihiHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūna(be) grateful
And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful
⤳ Link 16:14
15
وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَـٰرًۭا وَسُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
وَأَلْقَىٰwa-alqāAnd He has castفِىinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthرَوَٰسِىَrawāsiyafirm mountainsأَنanlestتَمِيدَtamīdait should shakeبِكُمْbikumwith youوَأَنْهَـٰرًۭاwa-anhāranand riversوَسُبُلًۭاwasubulanand roadsلَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَهْتَدُونَtahtadūnabe guided
And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided
⤳ Link 16:15
16
وَعَلَـٰمَـٰتٍۢ ۚ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
وَعَلَـٰمَـٰتٍۢ ۚwaʿalāmātinAnd landmarksوَبِٱلنَّجْمِwabil-najmiAnd by the starsهُمْhumtheyيَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnaguide themselves
And landmarks. And by the stars they are [also] guided
⤳ Link 16:16
17
أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ ۗ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
أَفَمَنafamanThen is He Whoيَخْلُقُyakhluqucreatesكَمَنkamanlike one whoلَّا(does) notيَخْلُقُ ۗyakhluqucreateأَفَلَاafalāThen will you notتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnaremember
Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded
⤳ Link 16:17
18
وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَعُدُّوا۟taʿuddūyou should countنِعْمَةَniʿ'matathe Favors of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahithe Favors of Allahلَاnotتُحْصُوهَآ ۗtuḥ'ṣūhāyou could enumerate themإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful
⤳ Link 16:18
19
وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاwhatتُسِرُّونَtusirrūnayou concealوَمَاwamāand whatتُعْلِنُونَtuʿ'linūnayou reveal
And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare
⤳ Link 16:19
20
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whomيَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey invokeمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَاnotيَخْلُقُونَyakhluqūnathey createشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَهُمْwahumbut (are) themselvesيُخْلَقُونَyukh'laqūnacreated
And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created
⤳ Link 16:20
21
أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٍۢ ۖ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ
أَمْوَٰتٌamwātun(They are) deadغَيْرُghayrunot aliveأَحْيَآءٍۢ ۖaḥyāinnot aliveوَمَاwamāAnd notيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceiveأَيَّانَayyānawhenيُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey will be resurrected
They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected
⤳ Link 16:21
22
إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌۭ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ
إِلَـٰهُكُمْilāhukumYour godإِلَـٰهٌۭilāhun(is) Godوَٰحِدٌۭ ۚwāḥidunOneفَٱلَّذِينَfa-alladhīnaBut those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterقُلُوبُهُمqulūbuhumtheir heartsمُّنكِرَةٌۭmunkiratunrefuseوَهُمwahumand theyمُّسْتَكْبِرُونَmus'takbirūna(are) arrogant
Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant
⤳ Link 16:22
23
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
لَاNo doubtجَرَمَjaramaNo doubtأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاwhatيُسِرُّونَyusirrūnathey concealوَمَاwamāand whatيُعْلِنُونَ ۚyuʿ'linūnathey revealإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّyuḥibbuloveٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَl-mus'takbirīnathe arrogant ones
Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant

24
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۙ قَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait is saidلَهُمlahumto themمَّاذَآmādhāWhatأَنزَلَanzalahas your Lord sent downرَبُّكُمْ ۙrabbukumhas your Lord sent downقَالُوٓا۟qālūThey sayأَسَـٰطِيرُasāṭīruTalesٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the ancient
And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples
⤳ Link 16:24
25
لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةًۭ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۙ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ
لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟liyaḥmilūThat they may bearأَوْزَارَهُمْawzārahumtheir own burdensكَامِلَةًۭkāmilatan(in) fullيَوْمَyawmaon (the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۙl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionوَمِنْwaminand ofأَوْزَارِawzārithe burdensٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whomيُضِلُّونَهُمyuḍillūnahumthey misled [them]بِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutعِلْمٍ ۗʿil'minknowledgeأَلَاalāUnquestionablyسَآءَsāaevilمَا(is) whatيَزِرُونَyazirūnathey will bear
That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear

26
قَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنْيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
قَدْqadVerilyمَكَرَmakaraplottedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themفَأَتَىfa-atābut Allah cameٱللَّهُl-lahubut Allah cameبُنْيَـٰنَهُمbun'yānahum(at) their buildingمِّنَminafromٱلْقَوَاعِدِl-qawāʿidithe foundationsفَخَرَّfakharraso fellعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuupon themٱلسَّقْفُl-saqfuthe roofمِنminfromفَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove themوَأَتَىٰهُمُwa-atāhumuand came to themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentمِنْminfromحَيْثُḥaythuwhereلَاthey (did) not perceiveيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey (did) not perceive
Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive

27
ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَـٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمْ ۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ إِنَّ ٱلْخِزْىَ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
ثُمَّthummaThenيَوْمَyawma(on) the Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionيُخْزِيهِمْyukh'zīhimHe will disgrace themوَيَقُولُwayaqūluand sayأَيْنَaynaWhereشُرَكَآءِىَshurakāiya(are) My partnersٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose (for) whomكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تُشَـٰٓقُّونَtushāqqūnaopposeفِيهِمْ ۚfīhim[in them]قَالَqālaWill sayٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأُوتُوا۟ūtūwere givenٱلْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledgeإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلْخِزْىَl-khiz'yathe disgraceٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmathis Dayوَٱلسُّوٓءَwal-sūaand evilعَلَىʿalā(are) uponٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers

28
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ فَأَلْقَوُا۟ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوٓءٍۭ ۚ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whom تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُtatawaffāhumutake them in deathٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsظَالِمِىٓẓālimī(while) wrongingأَنفُسِهِمْ ۖanfusihimthemselvesفَأَلْقَوُا۟fa-alqawūthen they would offerٱلسَّلَمَl-salamathe submissionمَاNotكُنَّاkunnāwe wereنَعْمَلُnaʿmaludoingمِنminanyسُوٓءٍۭ ۚsūinevilبَلَىٰٓbalāNayإِنَّinnaindeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلِيمٌۢʿalīmun(is) All-Knowerبِمَاbimāof whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do

29
فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟fa-ud'khulūSo enterأَبْوَٰبَabwāba(the) gatesجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hellخَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide foreverفِيهَا ۖfīhāin itفَلَبِئْسَfalabi'saSurely, wretchedمَثْوَىmathwā(is the) abodeٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَl-mutakabirīna(of) the arrogant
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant

30
۞ وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۚ قَالُوا۟ خَيْرًۭا ۗ لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌۭ ۚ وَلَدَارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ خَيْرٌۭ ۚ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
۞ وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be saidلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoٱتَّقَوْا۟ittaqawfear AllahمَاذَآmādhāWhatأَنزَلَanzalahas your Lord sent downرَبُّكُمْ ۚrabbukumhas your Lord sent downقَالُوا۟qālūThey will sayخَيْرًۭا ۗkhayranGoodلِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those whoأَحْسَنُوا۟aḥsanūdo goodفِىinهَـٰذِهِhādhihithisٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāworldحَسَنَةٌۭ ۚḥasanatun(is) a goodوَلَدَارُwaladāruand the homeٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratiof the Hereafterخَيْرٌۭ ۚkhayrun(is) betterوَلَنِعْمَwalaniʿ'maAnd surely excellentدَارُdāru(is) the homeٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(of) the righteous
And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous

31
جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
جَنَّـٰتُjannātuGardensعَدْنٍۢʿadnin(of) Eden يَدْخُلُونَهَاyadkhulūnahāwhich they will enterتَجْرِىtajrīflowsمِنminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath themٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖl-anhāruthe riversلَهُمْlahumFor themفِيهَاfīhāthereinمَا(will be) whateverيَشَآءُونَ ۚyashāūnathey wishكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusيَجْزِىyajzīAllah rewardsٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah rewardsٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous

32
ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ ۙ يَقُولُونَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whomتَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُtatawaffāhumutake them in deathٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsطَيِّبِينَ ۙṭayyibīna(when they are) pureيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayingسَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeaceعَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumu(be) upon youٱدْخُلُوا۟ud'khulūEnterٱلْجَنَّةَl-janataParadiseبِمَاbimāfor whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do

33
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
هَلْhalDoيَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnathey waitإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanthatتَأْتِيَهُمُtatiyahumu(should) come to themٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsأَوْaworيَأْتِىَyatiya(should) comeأَمْرُamru(the) Commandرَبِّكَ ۚrabbika(of) your LordكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusفَعَلَfaʿaladidٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihim(were) before themوَمَاwamāAnd notظَلَمَهُمُẓalamahumuwronged themٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutكَانُوٓا۟kānūthey wereأَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnawronging
Do the disbelievers await [anything] except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves

34
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
فَأَصَابَهُمْfa-aṣābahumThen struck themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evil (results)مَا(of) whatعَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey didوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand surroundedبِهِمbihimthemمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)بِهِۦbihi[of it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock
So they were struck by the evil consequences of what they did and were enveloped by what they used to ridicule

35
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍۢ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ فَهَلْ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأَشْرَكُوا۟ashrakūassociate partners (with Allah)لَوْlawIfشَآءَshāaAllah (had) willedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (had) willedمَاnotعَبَدْنَاʿabadnāwe (would) have worshippedمِنminother than Himدُونِهِۦdūnihiother than Himمِنminanyشَىْءٍۢshayinthingنَّحْنُnaḥnuweوَلَآwalāand notءَابَآؤُنَاābāunāour forefathersوَلَاwalāand notحَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāwe (would) have forbiddenمِنminother than Himدُونِهِۦdūnihiother than Himمِنminanythingشَىْءٍۢ ۚshayinanythingكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusفَعَلَfaʿaladidٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihim(were) before themفَهَلْfahalThen is (there)عَلَىʿalāonٱلرُّسُلِl-rusulithe messengersإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْبَلَـٰغُl-balāghuthe conveyanceٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuclear
And those who associate others with Allah say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have worshipped anything other than Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything through other than Him." Thus did those do before them. So is there upon the messengers except [the duty of] clear notification

36
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۚ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyبَعَثْنَاbaʿathnāWe sentفِىintoكُلِّkullieveryأُمَّةٍۢummatinnationرَّسُولًاrasūlana Messengerأَنِanithatٱعْبُدُوا۟uʿ'budūWorshipٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟wa-ij'tanibūand avoidٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖl-ṭāghūtathe false deitiesفَمِنْهُمfamin'humThen among themمَّنْman(were some) whomهَدَىhadāAllah guidedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah guidedوَمِنْهُمwamin'humand among themمَّنْman(were) someحَقَّتْḥaqqatwas justifiedعَلَيْهِʿalayhion themٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۚl-ḍalālatuthe strayingفَسِيرُوا۟fasīrūSo travelفِىinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَٱنظُرُوا۟fa-unẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatuthe endٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَl-mukadhibīna(of) the deniers
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers
⤳ Link 16:36
37
إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَن يُضِلُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
إِنinIfتَحْرِصْtaḥriṣyou desireعَلَىٰʿalā[for]هُدَىٰهُمْhudāhumtheir guidanceفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَا(will) notيَهْدِىyahdīguideمَنmanwhomيُضِلُّ ۖyuḍilluHe lets go astrayوَمَاwamāand not (are)لَهُمlahumfor themمِّنminanyنَّـٰصِرِينَnāṣirīnahelpers
[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers
⤳ Link 16:37
38
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۙ لَا يَبْعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ ۚ بَلَىٰ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّۭا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟wa-aqsamūAnd they swearبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiby Allahجَهْدَjahdastrongestأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۙaymānihim(of) their oathsلَاAllah will not resurrectيَبْعَثُyabʿathuAllah will not resurrectٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will not resurrectمَنman(one) whoيَمُوتُ ۚyamūtudiesبَلَىٰbalāNayوَعْدًاwaʿdan(it is) a promiseعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon Himحَقًّۭاḥaqqan(in) truthوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the mankindلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know
⤳ Link 16:38
39
لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰذِبِينَ
لِيُبَيِّنَliyubayyinaThat He will make clearلَهُمُlahumuto themٱلَّذِىalladhīthatيَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnathey differفِيهِfīhiwhereinوَلِيَعْلَمَwaliyaʿlamaand that may knowٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelievedأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyكَانُوا۟kānūwereكَـٰذِبِينَkādhibīnaliars
[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars
⤳ Link 16:39
40
إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَىْءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدْنَـٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyقَوْلُنَاqawlunāOur Wordلِشَىْءٍlishayinto a thingإِذَآidhāwhenأَرَدْنَـٰهُaradnāhuWe intend itأَنan(is) thatنَّقُولَnaqūlaWe sayلَهُۥlahuto itكُنkunBeفَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is
⤳ Link 16:40
41
وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ ۖ وَلَأَجْرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoهَاجَرُوا۟hājarūemigratedفِىin (the way)ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَا[what]ظُلِمُوا۟ẓulimūthey were wrongedلَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْlanubawwi-annahumsurely We will give them positionفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldحَسَنَةًۭ ۖḥasanatangoodوَلَأَجْرُwala-ajrubut surely the rewardٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafterأَكْبَرُ ۚakbaru(is) greaterلَوْlawifكَانُوا۟kānūtheyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know
⤳ Link 16:41
42
ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoصَبَرُوا۟ṣabarū(are) patientوَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand onرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnathey put their trust
[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied
⤳ Link 16:42
43
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youإِلَّاillāexceptرِجَالًۭاrijālanmenنُّوحِىٓnūḥīWe revealedإِلَيْهِمْ ۚilayhimto themفَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟fasalūso askأَهْلَahla(the) peopleٱلذِّكْرِl-dhik'ri(of) the Reminderإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyouلَا(do) notتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know
⤳ Link 16:43
44
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ ۗ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِbil-bayinātiWith the clear proofsوَٱلزُّبُرِ ۗwal-zuburiand the Booksوَأَنزَلْنَآwa-anzalnāAnd We sent downإِلَيْكَilaykato youٱلذِّكْرَl-dhik'rathe Remembranceلِتُبَيِّنَlitubayyinathat you may make clearلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito the mankindمَاwhatنُزِّلَnuzzilahas been sent downإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themوَلَعَلَّهُمْwalaʿallahumand that they mayيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnareflect
[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought
⤳ Link 16:44
45
أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
أَفَأَمِنَafa-aminaDo then feel secureٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمَكَرُوا۟makarūplottedٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātithe evil deedsأَنanthatيَخْسِفَyakhsifaAllah will caveٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will caveبِهِمُbihimuwith themٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthأَوْaworيَأْتِيَهُمُyatiyahumuwill come to themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentمِنْminfromحَيْثُḥaythuwhereلَاnotيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive
⤳ Link 16:45
46
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِى تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
أَوْawOrيَأْخُذَهُمْyakhudhahumthat He may seize themفِىinتَقَلُّبِهِمْtaqallubihimtheir going to and froفَمَاfamāthen notهُمhumtheyبِمُعْجِزِينَbimuʿ'jizīnawill be able to escape
Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity, and they could not cause failure
⤳ Link 16:46
47
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍۢ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ
أَوْawOrيَأْخُذَهُمْyakhudhahumthat He may seize themعَلَىٰʿalāwithتَخَوُّفٍۢtakhawwufina gradual wastingفَإِنَّfa-innaBut indeedرَبَّكُمْrabbakumyour Lordلَرَءُوفٌۭlaraūfun(is) surely Full of KindnessرَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful
⤳ Link 16:47
48
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍۢ يَتَفَيَّؤُا۟ ظِلَـٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدًۭا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
أَوَلَمْawalamHave notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seenإِلَىٰilā[towards]مَاwhatخَلَقَkhalaqaAllah has createdٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has createdمِنminfromشَىْءٍۢshayina thingيَتَفَيَّؤُا۟yatafayya-uInclineظِلَـٰلُهُۥẓilāluhutheir shadowsعَنِʿanitoٱلْيَمِينِl-yamīnithe rightوَٱلشَّمَآئِلِwal-shamāiliand to the leftسُجَّدًۭاsujjadanprostratingلِّلَّهِlillahito Allahوَهُمْwahumwhile theyدَٰخِرُونَdākhirūna(are) humble
Have they not considered what things Allah has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah, while they are humble
⤳ Link 16:48
49
وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٍۢ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd to Allahيَسْجُدُyasjuduprostrateمَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whateverفِى(is) inٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمِنminofدَآبَّةٍۢdābbatinmoving creaturesوَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُwal-malāikatuand the Angelsوَهُمْwahumand theyلَا(are) notيَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūnaarrogant
And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant
⤳ Link 16:49
50
يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩
يَخَافُونَyakhāfūnaThey fearرَبَّهُمrabbahumtheir Lordمِّنminabove themفَوْقِهِمْfawqihimabove themوَيَفْعَلُونَwayafʿalūnaand they doمَاwhatيُؤْمَرُونَ ۩yu'marūnathey are commanded
They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded
⤳ Link 16:50
51
۞ وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ إِلَـٰهَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ ۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭ ۖ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱرْهَبُونِ
۞ وَقَالَwaqālaAnd Allah has saidٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah has saidلَا(Do) notتَتَّخِذُوٓا۟tattakhidhūtakeإِلَـٰهَيْنِilāhayni[two] godsٱثْنَيْنِ ۖith'naynitwoإِنَّمَاinnamāonlyهُوَhuwaHeإِلَـٰهٌۭilāhun(is) Godوَٰحِدٌۭ ۖwāḥidunOneفَإِيَّـٰىَfa-iyyāyaso Me Aloneفَٱرْهَبُونِfa-ir'habūniyou fear [Me]
And Allah has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God, so fear only Me
⤳ Link 16:51
52
وَلَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًا ۚ أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ
وَلَهُۥwalahuAnd to Him (belongs)مَاwhateverفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَلَهُwalahuand to Himٱلدِّينُl-dīnu(is due) the worshipوَاصِبًا ۚwāṣibanconstantlyأَفَغَيْرَafaghayraThen is it other (than)ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear
⤳ Link 16:52
53
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍۢ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd whateverبِكُمbikumyou haveمِّنminofنِّعْمَةٍۢniʿ'matinfavorفَمِنَfamina(is) fromٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahiAllahثُمَّthummaThenإِذَاidhāwhenمَسَّكُمُmassakumutouches youٱلضُّرُّl-ḍuruthe adversityفَإِلَيْهِfa-ilayhithen to Himتَجْـَٔرُونَtajarūnayou cry for help
And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help
⤳ Link 16:53
54
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
ثُمَّthummaThenإِذَاidhāwhenكَشَفَkashafaHe removesٱلضُّرَّl-ḍurathe adversityعَنكُمْʿankumfrom youإِذَاidhābeholdفَرِيقٌۭfarīqunA groupمِّنكُمminkumof youبِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimwith their Lordيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociate others
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord
⤳ Link 16:54
55
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ۚ فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟liyakfurūSo as to denyبِمَآbimāthat whichءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ۚātaynāhumWe have given themفَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖfatamattaʿūThen enjoy yourselvesفَسَوْفَfasawfasoonتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know
⤳ Link 16:55
56
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيبًۭا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ
وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assignلِمَاlimāto whatلَاnotيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnathey know نَصِيبًۭاnaṣībana portionمِّمَّاmimmāof whatرَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ ۗrazaqnāhumWe have provided themتَٱللَّهِtal-lahiBy Allahلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّlatus'alunnasurely you will be askedعَمَّاʿammāabout whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَفْتَرُونَtaftarūnainvent
And they assign to what they do not know a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent

57
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلْبَنَـٰتِ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۙ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assignلِلَّهِlillahito Allahٱلْبَنَـٰتِl-banātidaughtersسُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ ۙsub'ḥānahuGlory be to HimوَلَهُمwalahumAnd for themمَّا(is) whatيَشْتَهُونَyashtahūnathey desire
And they attribute to Allah daughters - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire
⤳ Link 16:57
58
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّۭا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌۭ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenبُشِّرَbushirais given good newsأَحَدُهُمaḥaduhum(to) one of themبِٱلْأُنثَىٰbil-unthāof a femaleظَلَّẓallaturnsوَجْهُهُۥwajhuhuhis faceمُسْوَدًّۭاmus'waddandarkوَهُوَwahuwaand heكَظِيمٌۭkaẓīmunsuppresses grief
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief
⤳ Link 16:58
59
يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓ ۚ أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِى ٱلتُّرَابِ ۗ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
يَتَوَٰرَىٰyatawārāHe hides himselfمِنَminafromٱلْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleمِنmin(because) ofسُوٓءِsūithe evilمَاof whatبُشِّرَbushirahe has been given good newsبِهِۦٓ ۚbihiaboutأَيُمْسِكُهُۥayum'sikuhuShould he keep itعَلَىٰʿalāinهُونٍhūninhumiliationأَمْamorيَدُسُّهُۥyadussuhubury itفِىinٱلتُّرَابِ ۗl-turābithe dustأَلَاalāUnquestionablyسَآءَsāaevilمَا(is) whatيَحْكُمُونَyaḥkumūnathey decide
He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide
⤳ Link 16:59
60
لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مَثَلُ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
لِلَّذِينَlilladhīnaFor those whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterمَثَلُmathalu(is) a similitudeٱلسَّوْءِ ۖl-sawi(of) the evilوَلِلَّهِwalillahiand for Allahٱلْمَثَلُl-mathalu(is) the similitudeٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۚl-aʿlāthe HighestوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuAll-Wise
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise
⤳ Link 16:60
61
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍۢ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّۭى ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ سَاعَةًۭ ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifيُؤَاخِذُyuākhidhuAllah were to seizeٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah were to seizeٱلنَّاسَl-nāsathe mankindبِظُلْمِهِمbiẓul'mihimfor their wrongdoingمَّاnotتَرَكَtarakaHe (would) have leftعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāupon itمِنminanyدَآبَّةٍۢdābbatinmoving creatureوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutيُؤَخِّرُهُمْyu-akhiruhumHe defers themإِلَىٰٓilāforأَجَلٍۢajalina termمُّسَمًّۭى ۖmusammanappointedفَإِذَاfa-idhāThen whenجَآءَjāacomesأَجَلُهُمْajaluhumtheir termsلَاnotيَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَyastakhirūnathey (will) remain behindسَاعَةًۭ ۖsāʿatanan hourوَلَاwalāand notيَسْتَقْدِمُونَyastaqdimūnathey can advance (it)
And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]
⤳ Link 16:61
62
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۖ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ
وَيَجْعَلُونَwayajʿalūnaAnd they assignلِلَّهِlillahito Allahمَاwhatيَكْرَهُونَyakrahūnathey dislikeوَتَصِفُwataṣifuand assertأَلْسِنَتُهُمُalsinatuhumutheir tonguesٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lieأَنَّannathatلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۖl-ḥus'nā(is) the bestلَاNoجَرَمَjaramadoubtأَنَّannathatلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلنَّارَl-nāra(is) the Fireوَأَنَّهُمwa-annahumand that theyمُّفْرَطُونَmuf'raṭūna(will) be abandoned
And they attribute to Allah that which they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected
⤳ Link 16:62
63
تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
تَٱللَّهِtal-lahiBy AllahلَقَدْlaqadcertainlyأَرْسَلْنَآarsalnāWe have sentإِلَىٰٓilātoأُمَمٍۢumaminnationsمِّنminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youفَزَيَّنَfazayyanabut made fair-seemingلَهُمُlahumuto themٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaanأَعْمَـٰلَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deedsفَهُوَfahuwaSo heوَلِيُّهُمُwaliyyuhumu(is) their allyٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
By Allah, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is the disbelievers' ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment
⤳ Link 16:63
64
وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۙ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَنزَلْنَاanzalnāWe revealedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookإِلَّاillāexceptلِتُبَيِّنَlitubayyinathat you make clearلَهُمُlahumuto themٱلَّذِىalladhīthat whichٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ikh'talafūthey differedفِيهِ ۙfīhiin itوَهُدًۭىwahudanand (as) a guidanceوَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand mercyلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
And We have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muhammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe
⤳ Link 16:64
65
وَٱللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَسْمَعُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahأَنزَلَanzalahas sent downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۭmāanwaterفَأَحْيَاfa-aḥyāthen gives lifeبِهِbihiby itٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَآ ۚmawtihāits deathإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Signلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnawho listen
And Allah has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen
⤳ Link 16:65
66
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةًۭ ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍۢ وَدَمٍۢ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًۭا سَآئِغًۭا لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedلَكُمْlakumfor youفِىinٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmithe cattleلَعِبْرَةًۭ ۖlaʿib'ratan(is) a lessonنُّسْقِيكُمnus'qīkumWe give you to drinkمِّمَّاmimmāfrom whatفِى(is) inبُطُونِهِۦbuṭūnihitheir belliesمِنۢminfromبَيْنِbaynibetweenفَرْثٍۢfarthinbowelsوَدَمٍۢwadaminand bloodلَّبَنًاlabananmilkخَالِصًۭاkhāliṣanpureسَآئِغًۭاsāighanpalatableلِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَlilshāribīnato the drinkers
And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers
⤳ Link 16:66
67
وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ ٱلنَّخِيلِ وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًۭا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ
وَمِنwaminAnd fromثَمَرَٰتِthamarātifruitsٱلنَّخِيلِl-nakhīlithe date-palmوَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبِwal-aʿnābiand the grapesتَتَّخِذُونَtattakhidhūnayou takeمِنْهُmin'hufrom itسَكَرًۭاsakaranintoxicantوَرِزْقًاwariz'qanand a provisionحَسَنًا ۗḥasanangoodإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Signلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use reason
And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason
⤳ Link 16:67
68
وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلنَّحْلِ أَنِ ٱتَّخِذِى مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا وَمِنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ
وَأَوْحَىٰwa-awḥāAnd inspiredرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordإِلَىilātoٱلنَّحْلِl-naḥlithe beeأَنِani[that]ٱتَّخِذِىittakhidhīTakeمِنَminaamongٱلْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountainsبُيُوتًۭاbuyūtanhousesوَمِنَwaminaand amongٱلشَّجَرِl-shajarithe treesوَمِمَّاwamimmāand in whatيَعْرِشُونَyaʿrishūnathey construct
And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct
⤳ Link 16:68
69
ثُمَّ كُلِى مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ فَٱسْلُكِى سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًۭا ۚ يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌۭ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٌۭ لِّلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
ثُمَّthummaThenكُلِىkulīeatمِنminfromكُلِّkulliallٱلثَّمَرَٰتِl-thamarātithe fruitsفَٱسْلُكِىfa-us'lukīand followسُبُلَsubula(the) waysرَبِّكِrabbiki(of) your Lordذُلُلًۭا ۚdhululanmade smoothيَخْرُجُyakhrujuComes forthمِنۢminfromبُطُونِهَاbuṭūnihātheir belliesشَرَابٌۭsharābuna drinkمُّخْتَلِفٌmukh'talifun(of) varyingأَلْوَٰنُهُۥalwānuhucolorsفِيهِfīhiin itشِفَآءٌۭshifāon(is) a healingلِّلنَّاسِ ۗlilnnāsifor the mankindإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭlaāyatan(is) surely a Signلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho reflect
Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought
⤳ Link 16:69
70
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَىْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍۢ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۭ قَدِيرٌۭ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youثُمَّthummathenيَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۚyatawaffākumwill cause you to dieوَمِنكُمwaminkumAnd among youمَّنman(is one) whoيُرَدُّyuradduis sent backإِلَىٰٓilātoأَرْذَلِardhalithe worstٱلْعُمُرِl-ʿumuri(of) the ageلِكَىْlikayso thatلَاnotيَعْلَمَyaʿlamahe will knowبَعْدَbaʿdaafterعِلْمٍۢʿil'minknowledgeشَيْـًٔا ۚshayana thingإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-KnowingقَدِيرٌۭqadīrunAll-Powerful
And Allah created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after [having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Competent
⤳ Link 16:70
71
وَٱللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ فِى ٱلرِّزْقِ ۚ فَمَا ٱلَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا۟ بِرَآدِّى رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ ۚ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahفَضَّلَfaḍḍalahas favoredبَعْضَكُمْbaʿḍakumsome of youعَلَىٰʿalāoverبَعْضٍۢbaʿḍinothersفِىinٱلرِّزْقِ ۚl-riz'qi[the] provisionفَمَاfamāBut notٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoفُضِّلُوا۟fuḍḍilūwere favoredبِرَآدِّىbirāddīwould hand overرِزْقِهِمْriz'qihimtheir provisionعَلَىٰʿalātoمَاwhomمَلَكَتْmalakatpossessأَيْمَـٰنُهُمْaymānuhumtheir right handsفَهُمْfahumso (that) theyفِيهِfīhi(are) in itسَوَآءٌ ۚsawāonequalأَفَبِنِعْمَةِafabiniʿ'matiThen is it the Favorٱللَّهِl-lahiof Allahيَجْحَدُونَyajḥadūnathey reject
And Allah has favored some of you over others in provision. But those who were favored would not hand over their provision to those whom their right hands possess so they would be equal to them therein. Then is it the favor of Allah they reject

72
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةًۭ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahجَعَلَjaʿala(has) madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنْminfromأَنفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselvesأَزْوَٰجًۭاazwājanspousesوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand has madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنْminfromأَزْوَٰجِكُمazwājikumyour spousesبَنِينَbanīnasonsوَحَفَدَةًۭwaḥafadatanand grandsonsوَرَزَقَكُمwarazaqakumand has provided for youمِّنَminafromٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚl-ṭayibātithe good thingsأَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِafabil-bāṭiliThen in falsehood doيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believeوَبِنِعْمَتِwabiniʿ'matiand the Favorٱللَّهِl-lahiof Allahهُمْhumtheyيَكْفُرُونَyakfurūnadisbelieve
And Allah has made for you from yourselves mates and has made for you from your mates sons and grandchildren and has provided for you from the good things. Then in falsehood do they believe and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve
⤳ Link 16:72
73
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
وَيَعْبُدُونَwayaʿbudūnaAnd they worshipمِنminother thanدُونِdūniother thanٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَاwhichلَاnotيَمْلِكُyamlikupossessesلَهُمْlahumfor themرِزْقًۭاriz'qanany provisionمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthشَيْـًۭٔاshayan[anything]وَلَاwalāand notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able
And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable
⤳ Link 16:73
74
فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَضْرِبُوا۟taḍribūput forthلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahٱلْأَمْثَالَ ۚl-amthālathe similitudeإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsوَأَنتُمْwa-antumand youلَا(do) notتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
So do not assert similarities to Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know
⤳ Link 16:74
75
۞ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًۭا مَّمْلُوكًۭا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَـٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًۭا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّۭا وَجَهْرًا ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوُۥنَ ۚ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
۞ ضَرَبَḍarabaAllah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah sets forthمَثَلًاmathalanthe exampleعَبْدًۭاʿabdan(of) a slaveمَّمْلُوكًۭاmamlūkan(who is) ownedلَّاnotيَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has powerعَلَىٰʿalāonشَىْءٍۢshayinanythingوَمَنwamanand (one) whomرَّزَقْنَـٰهُrazaqnāhuWe provided himمِنَّاminnāfrom Usرِزْقًاriz'qana provisionحَسَنًۭاḥasanangoodفَهُوَfahuwaso heيُنفِقُyunfiquspendsمِنْهُmin'hufrom itسِرًّۭاsirransecretlyوَجَهْرًا ۖwajahranand publiclyهَلْhalCanيَسْتَوُۥنَ ۚyastawūnathey be equalٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praiseلِلَّهِ ۚlillahi(is) for AllahبَلْbalNayأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhumbut most of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah! But most of them do not know
⤳ Link 16:75
76
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًۭا رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَىٰهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ ۙ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
وَضَرَبَwaḍarabaAnd Allah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah sets forthمَثَلًۭاmathalanan exampleرَّجُلَيْنِrajulayni(of) two menأَحَدُهُمَآaḥaduhumāone of themأَبْكَمُabkamu(is) dumbلَاnotيَقْدِرُyaqdiruhe has powerعَلَىٰʿalāonشَىْءٍۢshayinanythingوَهُوَwahuwawhile heكَلٌّkallun(is) a burdenعَلَىٰʿalāonمَوْلَىٰهُmawlāhuhis masterأَيْنَمَاaynamāWhereverيُوَجِّههُّyuwajjihhuhe directs himلَاnotيَأْتِyatihe comesبِخَيْرٍ ۖbikhayrinwith any goodهَلْhalIsيَسْتَوِىyastawīequalهُوَhuwaheوَمَنwamanand (the one) whoيَأْمُرُyamurucommandsبِٱلْعَدْلِ ۙbil-ʿadli[of] justiceوَهُوَwahuwaand heعَلَىٰʿalā(is) onصِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭina pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
And Allah presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path
⤳ Link 16:76
77
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَآ أَمْرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ ٱلْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ
وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd to Allah (belongs)غَيْبُghaybu(the) unseenٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَآwamāAnd notأَمْرُamru(is the) matterٱلسَّاعَةِl-sāʿati(of) the Hourإِلَّاillābutكَلَمْحِkalamḥias a twinklingٱلْبَصَرِl-baṣari(of) the eyeأَوْaworهُوَhuwaitأَقْرَبُ ۚaqrabu(is) nearerإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلَىٰʿalāonكُلِّkullieveryشَىْءٍۢshayinthingقَدِيرٌۭqadīrun(is) All-Powerful
And to Allah belongs the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And the command for the Hour is not but as a glance of the eye or even nearer. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent
⤳ Link 16:77
78
وَٱللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّنۢ بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahأَخْرَجَكُمakhrajakumbrought you forthمِّنۢminfromبُطُونِbuṭūnithe wombsأُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْummahātikum(of) your mothersلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknowingشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلسَّمْعَl-samʿathe hearingوَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَwal-abṣāraand the sightوَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۙwal-afidataand the heartsلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnagive thanks
And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful
⤳ Link 16:78
79
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۢ فِى جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَلَمْalamDo notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeإِلَىilātowardsٱلطَّيْرِl-ṭayrithe birdsمُسَخَّرَٰتٍۢmusakharātincontrolledفِىinجَوِّjawwithe midstٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāi(of) the skyمَاNoneيُمْسِكُهُنَّyum'sikuhunnaholds them upإِلَّاillāexceptٱللَّهُ ۗl-lahuAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātin(are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe
⤳ Link 16:79
80
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۢ بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ بُيُوتًۭا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَآ أَثَـٰثًۭا وَمَتَـٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahجَعَلَjaʿala(has) madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنۢmin[from]بُيُوتِكُمْbuyūtikumyour homesسَكَنًۭاsakanana resting placeوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminfromجُلُودِjulūdithe hidesٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِl-anʿāmi(of) the cattleبُيُوتًۭاbuyūtantentsتَسْتَخِفُّونَهَاtastakhiffūnahāwhich you find lightيَوْمَyawma(on) the dayظَعْنِكُمْẓaʿnikum(of) your travelوَيَوْمَwayawmaand the dayإِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙiqāmatikum(of) your encampmentوَمِنْwaminand fromأَصْوَافِهَاaṣwāfihātheir woolوَأَوْبَارِهَاwa-awbārihāand their furوَأَشْعَارِهَآwa-ashʿārihāand their hairأَثَـٰثًۭاathāthan(is) furnishingوَمَتَـٰعًاwamatāʿanand a provisionإِلَىٰilāforحِينٍۢḥīnina time
And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest and made for you from the hides of the animals tents which you find light on your day of travel and your day of encampment; and from their wool, fur and hair is furnishing and enjoyment for a time
⤳ Link 16:80
81
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَـٰلًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ أَكْنَـٰنًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ ٱلْحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ
وَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahجَعَلَjaʿala(has) madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّمَّاmimmāfrom whatخَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdظِلَـٰلًۭاẓilālanshadesوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand (has) madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَminafromٱلْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountainsأَكْنَـٰنًۭاaknānansheltersوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand (has) madeلَكُمْlakumfor youسَرَٰبِيلَsarābīlagarmentsتَقِيكُمُtaqīkumuto protect youٱلْحَرَّl-ḥara(from) the heatوَسَرَٰبِيلَwasarābīlaand garmentsتَقِيكُمtaqīkumto protect youبَأْسَكُمْ ۚbasakumfrom your (mutual) violenceكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusيُتِمُّyutimmuHe completesنِعْمَتَهُۥniʿ'matahuHis Favorعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتُسْلِمُونَtus'limūnasubmit
And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him]
⤳ Link 16:81
82
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
فَإِنfa-inThen, ifتَوَلَّوْا۟tawallawthey turn awayفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyعَلَيْكَʿalaykaupon youٱلْبَلَـٰغُl-balāghu(is) the conveyanceٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuthe clear
But if they turn away, [O Muhammad] - then only upon you is [responsibility for] clear notification
⤳ Link 16:82
83
يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
يَعْرِفُونَyaʿrifūnaThey recognizeنِعْمَتَniʿ'mata(the) Favorٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahثُمَّthummathenيُنكِرُونَهَاyunkirūnahāthey deny itوَأَكْثَرُهُمُwa-aktharuhumuAnd most of themٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَl-kāfirūna(are) the disbelievers
They recognize the favor of Allah; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers
⤳ Link 16:83
84
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ شَهِيدًۭا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd the DayنَبْعَثُnabʿathuWe will resurrectمِنminfromكُلِّkullieveryأُمَّةٍۢummatinnationشَهِيدًۭاshahīdana witnessثُمَّthummathenلَاnotيُؤْذَنُyu'dhanuwill be permittedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُسْتَعْتَبُونَyus'taʿtabūnawill be asked to make amends
And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect from every nation a witness. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [Allah]
⤳ Link 16:84
85
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَءَاraā(will) seeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūwrongedٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentفَلَاfalāthen notيُخَفَّفُyukhaffafuit will be lightenedعَنْهُمْʿanhumfor themوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُنظَرُونَyunẓarūnawill be given respite
And when those who wronged see the punishment, it will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved
⤳ Link 16:85
86
وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَهُمْ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِكَ ۖ فَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَءَاraā(will) seeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأَشْرَكُوا۟ashrakūassociated partners with Allahشُرَكَآءَهُمْshurakāahumtheir partnersقَالُوا۟qālūThey will sayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lordهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāitheseشُرَكَآؤُنَاshurakāunā(are) our partnersٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomكُنَّاkunnāwe used toنَدْعُوا۟nadʿūinvokeمِنminbesides Youدُونِكَ ۖdūnikabesides Youفَأَلْقَوْا۟fa-alqawBut they (will) throw backإِلَيْهِمُilayhimuat themٱلْقَوْلَl-qawla(their) wordإِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed, youلَكَـٰذِبُونَlakādhibūna(are) surely liars
And when those who associated others with Allah see their "partners," they will say," Our Lord, these are our partners [to You] whom we used to invoke besides You." But they will throw at them the statement, "Indeed, you are liars
⤳ Link 16:86
87
وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلسَّلَمَ ۖ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
وَأَلْقَوْا۟wa-alqawAnd they (will) offerإِلَىilātoٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhin(on) that Dayٱلسَّلَمَ ۖl-salamathe submissionوَضَلَّwaḍallaand (is) lostعَنْهُمʿanhumfrom themمَّاwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainvent
And they will impart to Allah that Day [their] submission, and lost from them is what they used to invent
⤳ Link 16:87
88
ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ زِدْنَـٰهُمْ عَذَابًۭا فَوْقَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يُفْسِدُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaAnd those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedوَصَدُّوا۟waṣaddūand hinderedعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahزِدْنَـٰهُمْzid'nāhumWe will increase themعَذَابًۭاʿadhāban(in) punishmentفَوْقَfawqaoverٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishmentبِمَاbimābecauseكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يُفْسِدُونَyuf'sidūnaspread corruption
Those who disbelieved and averted [others] from the way of Allah - We will increase them in punishment over [their] punishment for what corruption they were causing
⤳ Link 16:88
89
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ تِبْيَـٰنًۭا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd the DayنَبْعَثُnabʿathuWe will resurrectفِىamongكُلِّkullieveryأُمَّةٍۢummatinnationشَهِيدًاshahīdana witnessعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimover themمِّنْminfromأَنفُسِهِمْ ۖanfusihimthemselvesوَجِئْنَاwaji'nāAnd We (will) bringبِكَbikayouشَهِيدًاshahīdan(as) a witnessعَلَىٰʿalāoverهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚhāulāitheseوَنَزَّلْنَاwanazzalnāAnd We sent downعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookتِبْيَـٰنًۭاtib'yānan(as) a clarificationلِّكُلِّlikulliof everyشَىْءٍۢshayinthingوَهُدًۭىwahudanand a guidanceوَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand mercyوَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand glad tidingsلِلْمُسْلِمِينَlil'mus'limīnafor the Muslims
And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims
⤳ Link 16:89
90
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ وَإِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
۞ إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَأْمُرُyamurucommandsبِٱلْعَدْلِbil-ʿadlijusticeوَٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِwal-iḥ'sāniand the goodوَإِيتَآئِwaītāiand givingذِىdhī(to) relativesٱلْقُرْبَىٰl-qur'bā(to) relativesوَيَنْهَىٰwayanhāand forbidsعَنِʿani[from]ٱلْفَحْشَآءِl-faḥshāithe immoralityوَٱلْمُنكَرِwal-munkariand the badوَٱلْبَغْىِ ۚwal-baghyiand the oppressionيَعِظُكُمْyaʿiẓukumHe admonishes youلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnatake heed
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded

91
وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا عَـٰهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَـٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
وَأَوْفُوا۟wa-awfūAnd fulfilبِعَهْدِbiʿahdithe covenantٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِذَاidhāwhenعَـٰهَدتُّمْʿāhadttumyou have taken a covenantوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَنقُضُوا۟tanquḍūbreakٱلْأَيْمَـٰنَl-aymānaoathsبَعْدَbaʿdaafterتَوْكِيدِهَاtawkīdihātheir confirmationوَقَدْwaqadwhile verilyجَعَلْتُمُjaʿaltumuyou have madeٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumover youكَفِيلًا ۚkafīlana suretyإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاwhatتَفْعَلُونَtafʿalūnayou do
And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have taken it, [O believers], and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allah, over you, a witness. Indeed, Allah knows what you do
⤳ Link 16:91
92
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّتِى نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَـٰثًۭا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِىَ أَرْبَىٰ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَكُونُوا۟takūnūbeكَٱلَّتِىka-allatīlike her whoنَقَضَتْnaqaḍatuntwistsغَزْلَهَاghazlahāher spun yarnمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterقُوَّةٍquwwatinstrengthأَنكَـٰثًۭاankāthan(into) untwisted strandsتَتَّخِذُونَtattakhidhūnayou takeأَيْمَـٰنَكُمْaymānakumyour oathsدَخَلًۢاdakhalan(as) a deceptionبَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween youأَنanbecauseتَكُونَtakūnaisأُمَّةٌummatuna communityهِىَhiya[it]أَرْبَىٰarbāmore numerousمِنْminthanأُمَّةٍ ۚummatin(another) communityإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيَبْلُوكُمُyablūkumuAllah tests youٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah tests youبِهِۦ ۚbihiby itوَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّwalayubayyinannaAnd He will make clearلَكُمْlakumto youيَوْمَyawma(on) the Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionمَاwhatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)فِيهِfīhiin itتَخْتَلِفُونَtakhtalifūnadiffer
And do not be like she who untwisted her spun thread after it was strong [by] taking your oaths as [means of] deceit between you because one community is more plentiful [in number or wealth] than another community. Allah only tries you thereby. And He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Resurrection that over which you used to differ
⤳ Link 16:92
93
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ وَلَـٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَآءَshāaAllah (had) willedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah (had) willedلَجَعَلَكُمْlajaʿalakumsurely He (could) have made youأُمَّةًۭummatana nationوَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatanoneوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutيُضِلُّyuḍilluHe lets go astrayمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُyashāuHe willsوَيَهْدِىwayahdīand guidesمَنmanwhomيَشَآءُ ۚyashāuHe willsوَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّwalatus'alunnaAnd surely you will be questionedعَمَّاʿammāabout whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do
⤳ Link 16:93
94
وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌۢ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَتَّخِذُوٓا۟tattakhidhūtakeأَيْمَـٰنَكُمْaymānakumyour oathsدَخَلًۢاdakhalan(as) a deceptionبَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween youفَتَزِلَّfatazillalest, should slipقَدَمٌۢqadamuna footبَعْدَbaʿdaafterثُبُوتِهَاthubūtihāit is firmly plantedوَتَذُوقُوا۟watadhūqūand you would tasteٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūathe evilبِمَاbimāfor whatصَدَدتُّمْṣadadttumyou hinderedعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) Allahوَلَكُمْwalakumand for youعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
And do not take your oaths as [means of] deceit between you, lest a foot slip after it was [once] firm, and you would taste evil [in this world] for what [people] you diverted from the way of Allah, and you would have [in the Hereafter] a great punishment
⤳ Link 16:94
95
وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَشْتَرُوا۟tashtarūexchangeبِعَهْدِbiʿahdithe covenantٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahثَمَنًۭاthamanan(for) a priceقَلِيلًا ۚqalīlanlittleإِنَّمَاinnamāIndeed, whatعِندَʿinda(is) withٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahهُوَhuwaitخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterلَّكُمْlakumfor youإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou were (to)تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
And do not exchange the covenant of Allah for a small price. Indeed, what is with Allah is best for you, if only you could know
⤳ Link 16:95
96
مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ ۖ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٍۢ ۗ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
مَاWhateverعِندَكُمْʿindakum(is) with youيَنفَدُ ۖyanfaduwill be exhaustedوَمَاwamāand whateverعِندَʿinda(is) withٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahبَاقٍۢ ۗbāqin(will) be remainingوَلَنَجْزِيَنَّwalanajziyannaAnd surely We will payٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoصَبَرُوٓا۟ṣabarū(are) patientأَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir rewardبِأَحْسَنِbi-aḥsanito (the) bestمَا(of) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do
⤳ Link 16:96
97
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥ حَيَوٰةًۭ طَيِّبَةًۭ ۖ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
مَنْmanWhoeverعَمِلَʿamiladoesصَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥanrighteous deedsمِّنminwhetherذَكَرٍdhakarinmaleأَوْaworأُنثَىٰunthāfemaleوَهُوَwahuwawhile heمُؤْمِنٌۭmu'minun(is) a believerفَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥfalanuḥ'yiyannahuthen surely We will give him lifeحَيَوٰةًۭḥayatana lifeطَيِّبَةًۭ ۖṭayyibatangoodوَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْwalanajziyannahumand We will pay themأَجْرَهُمajrahumtheir rewardبِأَحْسَنِbi-aḥsanito (the) bestمَاof whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do
⤳ Link 16:97
98
فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
فَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenقَرَأْتَqaratayou reciteٱلْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ānathe Quranفَٱسْتَعِذْfa-is'taʿidhseek refugeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahمِنَminafromٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِl-shayṭānithe Shaitaanٱلرَّجِيمِl-rajīmithe accursed
So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy]
⤳ Link 16:98
99
إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ سُلْطَـٰنٌ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed heلَيْسَlaysanotلَهُۥlahufor himسُلْطَـٰنٌsul'ṭānun(is) any authorityعَلَىʿalāonٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَلَىٰwaʿalāand uponرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkalūnathey put their trust
Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord
⤳ Link 16:99
100
إِنَّمَا سُلْطَـٰنُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِهِۦ مُشْرِكُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyسُلْطَـٰنُهُۥsul'ṭānuhuhis authorityعَلَىʿalā(is) overٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥyatawallawnahutake him as an allyوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoهُمhum[they]بِهِۦbihiwith Himمُشْرِكُونَmush'rikūnaassociate partners
His authority is only over those who take him as an ally and those who through him associate others with Allah
⤳ Link 16:100
101
وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةًۭ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍۢ ۙ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenبَدَّلْنَآbaddalnāWe substituteءَايَةًۭāyatana Verseمَّكَانَmakāna(in) placeءَايَةٍۢ ۙāyatin(of) a Verseوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuand Allah أَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowingبِمَاbimāof whatيُنَزِّلُyunazziluHe sends downقَالُوٓا۟qālūthey sayإِنَّمَآinnamāOnlyأَنتَantayouمُفْتَرٍۭ ۚmuf'tarin(are) an inventorبَلْbalNayأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know
⤳ Link 16:101
102
قُلْ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ ٱلْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهُدًۭى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ
قُلْqulSayنَزَّلَهُۥnazzalahuHas brought it downرُوحُrūḥuthe Holy Spiritٱلْقُدُسِl-qudusithe Holy Spiritمِنminfromرَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lordبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthلِيُثَبِّتَliyuthabbitato make firmٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَهُدًۭىwahudanand (as) a guidanceوَبُشْرَىٰwabush'rāand glad tidingsلِلْمُسْلِمِينَlil'mus'limīnato the Muslims
Say, [O Muhammad], "The Pure Spirit has brought it down from your Lord in truth to make firm those who believe and as guidance and good tidings to the Muslims
⤳ Link 16:102
103
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٌۭ ۗ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِى يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِىٌّۭ وَهَـٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِىٌّۭ مُّبِينٌ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyنَعْلَمُnaʿlamuWe knowأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيُعَلِّمُهُۥyuʿallimuhuteaches himبَشَرٌۭ ۗbasharuna human beingلِّسَانُlisānu(The) tongueٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) the oneيُلْحِدُونَyul'ḥidūnathey referإِلَيْهِilayhito himأَعْجَمِىٌّۭaʿjamiyyun(is) foreignوَهَـٰذَاwahādhāwhile thisلِسَانٌlisānun(is) a languageعَرَبِىٌّۭʿarabiyyunArabicمُّبِينٌmubīnunclear
And We certainly know that they say, "It is only a human being who teaches the Prophet." The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this Qur'an is [in] a clear Arabic language
⤳ Link 16:103
104
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin the Versesٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahلَاnotيَهْدِيهِمُyahdīhimuAllah will guide themٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will guide themوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allah - Allah will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment
⤳ Link 16:104
105
إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِى ٱلْكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيَفْتَرِىyaftarīthey inventٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe falsehoodٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin the Versesٱللَّهِ ۖl-lahi(of) Allahوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaand those هُمُhumutheyٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَl-kādhibūna(are) the liars
They only invent falsehood who do not believe in the verses of Allah, and it is those who are the liars
⤳ Link 16:105
106
مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَـٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ وَلَـٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلْكُفْرِ صَدْرًۭا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
مَنmanWhoeverكَفَرَkafaradisbelievesبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterإِيمَـٰنِهِۦٓīmānihihis beliefإِلَّاillāexceptمَنْman(one) whoأُكْرِهَuk'rihais forcedوَقَلْبُهُۥwaqalbuhuwhile his heartمُطْمَئِنٌّۢmuṭ'ma-innun(is) contentبِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِbil-īmāniwith the faithوَلَـٰكِنwalākinButمَّنman(one) whoشَرَحَsharaḥaopensبِٱلْكُفْرِbil-kuf'rito disbeliefصَدْرًۭاṣadran(his) breastفَعَلَيْهِمْfaʿalayhimthen upon themغَضَبٌۭghaḍabun(is) a wrathمِّنَminaofٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌۭʿaẓīmungreat
Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment
⤳ Link 16:106
107
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat (is)بِأَنَّهُمُbi-annahumubecauseٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟is'taḥabbūthey preferredٱلْحَيَوٰةَl-ḥayatathe lifeٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldعَلَىʿalāoverٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterوَأَنَّwa-annaand thatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَا(does) notيَهْدِىyahdīguideٱلْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people
⤳ Link 16:107
108
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the ones طَبَعَṭabaʿaAllah has set a sealٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has set a sealعَلَىٰʿalāoverقُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsوَسَمْعِهِمْwasamʿihimand their hearingوَأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ ۖwa-abṣārihimand their sightوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd those هُمُhumuthey areٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَl-ghāfilūnathe heedless
Those are the ones over whose hearts and hearing and vision Allah has sealed, and it is those who are the heedless

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
لَاNoجَرَمَjaramadoubtأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyفِىinٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
Assuredly, it is they, in the Hereafter, who will be the losers
⤳ Link 16:109
110
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا۟ ثُمَّ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ وَصَبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّinnaindeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoهَاجَرُوا۟hājarūemigratedمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاwhatفُتِنُوا۟futinūthey had been put to trialsثُمَّthummathenجَـٰهَدُوا۟jāhadūstrove hardوَصَبَرُوٓا۟waṣabarūand were patientإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordمِنۢminafter itبَعْدِهَاbaʿdihāafter itلَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrunsurely is Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to renounce their religion] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allah] and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful

111
۞ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ تُجَـٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
۞ يَوْمَyawma(On) the Dayتَأْتِىtatī(when) will comeكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍۢnafsinsoulتُجَـٰدِلُtujādilupleadingعَنʿanforنَّفْسِهَاnafsihāitselfوَتُوَفَّىٰwatuwaffāand will be paid in fullكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍۢnafsinsoulمَّاwhatعَمِلَتْʿamilatit didوَهُمْwahumand theyلَا(will) notيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnabe wronged
On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged

112
وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًۭا قَرْيَةًۭ كَانَتْ ءَامِنَةًۭ مُّطْمَئِنَّةًۭ يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًۭا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍۢ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلْجُوعِ وَٱلْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ
وَضَرَبَwaḍarabaAnd Allah sets forthٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah sets forthمَثَلًۭاmathalana similitudeقَرْيَةًۭqaryatan(of) a townكَانَتْkānat(that) wasءَامِنَةًۭāminatansecureمُّطْمَئِنَّةًۭmuṭ'ma-innatanand contentيَأْتِيهَاyatīhācoming to itرِزْقُهَاriz'quhāits provisionرَغَدًۭاraghadan(in) abundanceمِّنminfromكُلِّkullieveryمَكَانٍۢmakāninplaceفَكَفَرَتْfakafaratbut it deniedبِأَنْعُمِbi-anʿumi(the) Favors of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) Favors of Allahفَأَذَٰقَهَاfa-adhāqahāso Allah made it tasteٱللَّهُl-lahuso Allah made it tasteلِبَاسَlibāsa(the) garbٱلْجُوعِl-jūʿi(of) the hungerوَٱلْخَوْفِwal-khawfiand the fearبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)يَصْنَعُونَyaṣnaʿūnado
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing

113
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَهُمْjāahumcame to themرَسُولٌۭrasūluna Messengerمِّنْهُمْmin'humfrom among themفَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhubut they denied himفَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuso seized themٱلْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentوَهُمْwahumwhile theyظَـٰلِمُونَẓālimūna(were) wrongdoers
And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers
⤳ Link 16:113
114
فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَـٰلًۭا طَيِّبًۭا وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
فَكُلُوا۟fakulūSo eatمِمَّاmimmāof whatرَزَقَكُمُrazaqakumuAllah has provided you ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has provided you حَلَـٰلًۭاḥalālanlawfulطَيِّبًۭاṭayyibanand goodوَٱشْكُرُوا۟wa-ush'kurūAnd be gratefulنِعْمَتَniʿ'mata(for the) Favorٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntum[you]إِيَّاهُiyyāhuHim Aloneتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worship
Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship

115
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍۢ وَلَا عَادٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyحَرَّمَḥarramaHe has forbiddenعَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumuto youٱلْمَيْتَةَl-maytatathe dead animalوَٱلدَّمَwal-damaand the bloodوَلَحْمَwalaḥmaand the fleshٱلْخِنزِيرِl-khinzīri(of) the swineوَمَآwamāand whatأُهِلَّuhillahas been dedicatedلِغَيْرِlighayrito other (than)ٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahبِهِۦ ۖbihi[with it]فَمَنِfamaniBut (if) oneٱضْطُرَّuḍ'ṭurra(is) forced غَيْرَghayrawithout (being)بَاغٍۢbāghindisobedientوَلَاwalāand notعَادٍۢʿādina transgressor فَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

116
وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَـٰذَا حَلَـٰلٌۭ وَهَـٰذَا حَرَامٌۭ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَقُولُوا۟taqūlūsayلِمَاlimāfor that whichتَصِفُtaṣifuassertأَلْسِنَتُكُمُalsinatukumuyour tonguesٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lieهَـٰذَاhādhāThisحَلَـٰلٌۭḥalālun(is) lawfulوَهَـٰذَاwahādhāand thisحَرَامٌۭḥarāmun(is) forbiddenلِّتَفْتَرُوا۟litaftarūso that you inventعَلَىʿalāaboutٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلْكَذِبَ ۚl-kadhibathe lieإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainventعَلَىʿalāaboutٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلْكَذِبَl-kadhibathe lieلَاthey will not succeedيُفْلِحُونَyuf'liḥūnathey will not succeed
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed

117
مَتَـٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
مَتَـٰعٌۭmatāʿunAn enjoymentقَلِيلٌۭqalīlunlittleوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌۭalīmunpainful
[It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment

118
وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
وَعَلَىwaʿalāAnd toٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoهَادُوا۟hādūare JewsحَرَّمْنَاḥarramnāWe have forbiddenمَاwhatقَصَصْنَاqaṣaṣnāWe relatedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youمِنminbeforeقَبْلُ ۖqablubeforeوَمَاwamāAnd notظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْẓalamnāhumWe wronged themوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutكَانُوٓا۟kānūthey used (to)أَنفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūnawrong
And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves
⤳ Link 16:118
119
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ
ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّinnaindeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoعَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūdidٱلسُّوٓءَl-sūaevilبِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢbijahālatinin ignoranceثُمَّthummathenتَابُوا۟tābūrepentedمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterذَٰلِكَdhālikathatوَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟wa-aṣlaḥūand corrected themselves إِنَّinnaindeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordمِنۢminafter thatبَعْدِهَاbaʿdihāafter thatلَغَفُورٌۭlaghafūrun(is) surely Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful

120
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةًۭ قَانِتًۭا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًۭا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahimكَانَkānawasأُمَّةًۭummatana nationقَانِتًۭاqānitanobedientلِّلَّهِlillahito Allahحَنِيفًۭاḥanīfanuprightوَلَمْwalamand notيَكُyakuhe wasمِنَminaofٱلْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah

121
شَاكِرًۭا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
شَاكِرًۭاshākiranThankfulلِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚli-anʿumihifor His favorsٱجْتَبَىٰهُij'tabāhuHe chose himوَهَدَىٰهُwahadāhuand guided himإِلَىٰilātoصِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭinthe wayمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminstraight
[He was] grateful for His favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path
⤳ Link 16:121
122
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave himفِىinٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldحَسَنَةًۭ ۖḥasanatangoodوَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuand indeed, heفِىinٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterلَمِنَlamina(he) will surely (be) amongٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
And We gave him good in this world, and indeed, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous
⤳ Link 16:122
123
ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
ثُمَّthummaThenأَوْحَيْنَآawḥaynāWe revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youأَنِanithatٱتَّبِعْittabiʿYou followمِلَّةَmillata(the) religionإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahimحَنِيفًۭا ۖḥanīfanuprightوَمَاwamāand notكَانَkānahe wasمِنَminaofٱلْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah
⤳ Link 16:123
124
إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبْتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyجُعِلَjuʿilawas appointedٱلسَّبْتُl-sabtuthe Sabbathعَلَىʿalāforٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ikh'talafūdifferedفِيهِ ۚfīhiin itوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَيَحْكُمُlayaḥkumuwill surely judgeبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themيَوْمَyawma(on) the Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionفِيمَاfīmāin whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used (to)فِيهِfīhi[in it]يَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
The sabbath was only appointed for those who differed over it. And indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ

125
ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَـٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
ٱدْعُud'ʿuCallإِلَىٰilātoسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordبِٱلْحِكْمَةِbil-ḥik'matiwith the wisdomوَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِwal-mawʿiẓatiand the instructionٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖl-ḥasanatithe goodوَجَـٰدِلْهُمwajādil'humand discuss with themبِٱلَّتِىbi-allatīin thatهِىَhiyawhichأَحْسَنُ ۚaḥsanu(is) bestإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour LordهُوَhuwaHeأَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowingبِمَنbimanof whoضَلَّḍallahas strayedعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِهِۦ ۖsabīlihiHis wayوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heأَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowingبِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَbil-muh'tadīnaof the guided ones
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided
⤳ Link 16:125
126
وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
وَإِنْwa-inAnd ifعَاقَبْتُمْʿāqabtumyou retaliateفَعَاقِبُوا۟faʿāqibūthen retaliateبِمِثْلِbimith'liwith the likeمَاof whatعُوقِبْتُمʿūqib'tumyou were afflictedبِهِۦ ۖbihiwith [it]وَلَئِنwala-inBut ifصَبَرْتُمْṣabartumyou are patientلَهُوَlahuwasurely (it) isخَيْرٌۭkhayrunbetterلِّلصَّـٰبِرِينَlilṣṣābirīnafor those who are patient
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient
⤳ Link 16:126
127
وَٱصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِى ضَيْقٍۢ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ
وَٱصْبِرْwa-iṣ'birAnd be patientوَمَاwamāand notصَبْرُكَṣabruka(is) your patienceإِلَّاillābutبِٱللَّهِ ۚbil-lahifrom AllahوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَحْزَنْtaḥzangrieveعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover themوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَكُtakubeفِىinضَيْقٍۢḍayqindistressمِّمَّاmimmāfor whatيَمْكُرُونَyamkurūnathey plot
And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah. And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire
⤳ Link 16:127
128
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahمَعَmaʿa(is) withٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱتَّقَوا۟ittaqawfear (Him)وَّٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoهُمhum[they]مُّحْسِنُونَmuḥ'sinūna(are) good-doers
Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good
