Surah 58 of 114 · Madani
سُورَةُ المُجَادلَةِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
قَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّتِى تُجَـٰدِلُكَ فِى زَوْجِهَا وَتَشْتَكِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ يَسْمَعُ تَحَاوُرَكُمَآ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ
قَدْqadIndeedسَمِعَsamiʿaAllah has heardٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has heardقَوْلَqawla(the) speechٱلَّتِىallatī(of one) whoتُجَـٰدِلُكَtujādilukadisputes with youفِىfīconcerningزَوْجِهَاzawjihāher husbandوَتَشْتَكِىٓwatashtakīand she directs her complaintإِلَىilātoٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَسْمَعُyasmaʿuhearsتَحَاوُرَكُمَآ ۚtaḥāwurakumā(the) dialogue of both of youإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَمِيعٌۢsamīʿun(is) All-HearerبَصِيرٌbaṣīrunAll-Seer
Certainly has Allah heard the speech of the one who argues with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing

58:1
2
ٱلَّذِينَ يُظَـٰهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَـٰتِهِمْ ۖ إِنْ أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱلَّـٰٓـِٔى وَلَدْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنكَرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَزُورًۭا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌۭ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُظَـٰهِرُونَyuẓāhirūnapronounce ziharمِنكُمminkumamong youمِّنmin[from]نِّسَآئِهِمnisāihim(to) their wivesمَّاmānotهُنَّhunnatheyأُمَّهَـٰتِهِمْ ۖummahātihim(are) their mothersإِنْinNotأُمَّهَـٰتُهُمْummahātuhum(are) their mothersإِلَّاillāexceptٱلَّـٰٓـِٔىallāīthose whoوَلَدْنَهُمْ ۚwaladnahumgave them birthوَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumAnd indeed, theyلَيَقُولُونَlayaqūlūnasurely sayمُنكَرًۭاmunkaranan evilمِّنَmina[of]ٱلْقَوْلِl-qawli[the] wordوَزُورًۭا ۚwazūranand a lieوَإِنَّwa-innaBut indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَعَفُوٌّlaʿafuwwun(is) surely, Oft-PardoningغَفُورٌۭghafūrunOft-Forgiving
Those who pronounce thihar among you [to separate] from their wives - they are not [consequently] their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. But indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving

58:2
3
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُظَـٰهِرُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا قَالُوا۟ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ تُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ
وَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيُظَـٰهِرُونَyuẓāhirūnapronounce ziharمِنmin[from]نِّسَآئِهِمْnisāihim(to) their wivesثُمَّthummathenيَعُودُونَyaʿūdūnago backلِمَاlimāon whatقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidفَتَحْرِيرُfataḥrīruthen freeingرَقَبَةٍۢraqabatin(of) a slaveمِّنminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنan[that]يَتَمَآسَّا ۚyatamāssāthey touch each otherذَٰلِكُمْdhālikumThatتُوعَظُونَtūʿaẓūnayou are admonishedبِهِۦ ۚbihito itوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doخَبِيرٌۭkhabīrun(is) All-Aware
And those who pronounce thihar from their wives and then [wish to] go back on what they said - then [there must be] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished thereby; and Allah is Acquainted with what you do

58:3
4
فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَتَمَآسَّا ۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَإِطْعَامُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًۭا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۚ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
فَمَنfamanThen whoeverلَّمْlam(does) notيَجِدْyajidfindفَصِيَامُfaṣiyāmuthen fastingشَهْرَيْنِshahrayni(for) two monthsمُتَتَابِعَيْنِmutatābiʿayniconsecutivelyمِنminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنan[that]يَتَمَآسَّا ۖyatamāssāthey both touch each otherفَمَنfamanBut (he) whoلَّمْlamnotيَسْتَطِعْyastaṭiʿis ableفَإِطْعَامُfa-iṭ'ʿāmuthen (the) feedingسِتِّينَsittīna(of) sixtyمِسْكِينًۭا ۚmis'kīnanneedy one(s)ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟litu'minūso that you may believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦ ۚwarasūlihiand His Messengerوَتِلْكَwatil'kaand theseحُدُودُḥudūdu(are the) limitsٱللَّهِ ۗl-lahi(of) Allahوَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَwalil'kāfirīnaand for the disbelieversعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment

58:4
5
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآدُّونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ كُبِتُوا۟ كَمَا كُبِتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ وَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ ءَايَـٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۚ وَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُحَآدُّونَyuḥāddūnaopposeٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messengerكُبِتُوا۟kubitū(will) be disgracedكَمَاkamāasكُبِتَkubitawere disgracedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathoseمِنminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْ ۚqablihimbefore themوَقَدْwaqadAnd certainlyأَنزَلْنَآanzalnāWe have sent downءَايَـٰتٍۭāyātinVersesبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۚbayyinātinclearوَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَwalil'kāfirīnaAnd for the disbelieversعَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(is) a punishmentمُّهِينٌۭmuhīnunhumiliating
Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger are abased as those before them were abased. And We have certainly sent down verses of clear evidence. And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment

58:5
6
يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًۭا فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوٓا۟ ۚ أَحْصَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ وَنَسُوهُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ
يَوْمَyawma(On the) Dayيَبْعَثُهُمُyabʿathuhumu(when) Allah will raise themٱللَّهُl-lahu(when) Allah will raise themجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallفَيُنَبِّئُهُمfayunabbi-uhumand inform themبِمَاbimāof whatعَمِلُوٓا۟ ۚʿamilūthey didأَحْصَىٰهُaḥṣāhuAllah has recorded itٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has recorded itوَنَسُوهُ ۚwanasūhuwhile they forgot itوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلَىٰʿalā(is) overكُلِّkulliallشَىْءٍۢshayinthingsشَهِيدٌshahīduna Witness
On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all and inform them of what they did. Allah had enumerated it, while they forgot it; and Allah is, over all things, Witness

58:6
7
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ مَا يَكُونُ مِن نَّجْوَىٰ ثَلَـٰثَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ رَابِعُهُمْ وَلَا خَمْسَةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ سَادِسُهُمْ وَلَآ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكْثَرَ إِلَّا هُوَ مَعَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ ۖ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّannathatٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاmāwhateverفِىfī(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whateverفِىfī(is) inٱلْأَرْضِ ۖl-arḍithe earthمَاmāNotيَكُونُyakūnuthere isمِنminanyنَّجْوَىٰnajwāsecret counselثَلَـٰثَةٍthalāthatin(of) threeإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHe (is)رَابِعُهُمْrābiʿuhum(the) fourth of themوَلَاwalāand notخَمْسَةٍkhamsatinfiveإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHe (is)سَادِسُهُمْsādisuhum(the) sixth of themوَلَآwalāand notأَدْنَىٰadnālessمِنminthanذَٰلِكَdhālikathatوَلَآwalāand notأَكْثَرَaktharamoreإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHeمَعَهُمْmaʿahum(is) with themأَيْنَaynawhereverمَاmāwhereverكَانُوا۟ ۖkānūthey areثُمَّthummaThenيُنَبِّئُهُمyunabbi-uhumHe will inform themبِمَاbimāof whatعَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey didيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚl-qiyāmati(of) the ResurrectionإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَىْءٍshayinthingعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
Have you not considered that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is in no private conversation three but that He is the fourth of them, nor are there five but that He is the sixth of them - and no less than that and no more except that He is with them [in knowledge] wherever they are. Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing

58:7
8
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نُهُوا۟ عَنِ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَيَتَنَـٰجَوْنَ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِذَا جَآءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا ٱللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ ۚ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeإِلَىilā[to]ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoنُهُوا۟nuhūwere forbiddenعَنِʿanifromٱلنَّجْوَىٰl-najwāsecret counselsثُمَّthummathenيَعُودُونَyaʿūdūnathey returnلِمَاlimāto whatنُهُوا۟nuhūthey were forbiddenعَنْهُʿanhufrom [it]وَيَتَنَـٰجَوْنَwayatanājawnaand they hold secret counselsبِٱلْإِثْمِbil-ith'mifor sinوَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِwal-ʿud'wāniand aggressionوَمَعْصِيَتِwamaʿṣiyatiand disobedienceٱلرَّسُولِl-rasūli(to) the Messengerوَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenجَآءُوكَjāūkathey come to youحَيَّوْكَḥayyawkathey greet youبِمَاbimāwith whatلَمْlamnotيُحَيِّكَyuḥayyikagreets youبِهِbihitherewithٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaand they sayفِىٓfīamongأَنفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesلَوْلَاlawlāWhy (does) notيُعَذِّبُنَاyuʿadhibunāAllah punish usٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah punish usبِمَاbimāfor whatنَقُولُ ۚnaqūluwe sayحَسْبُهُمْḥasbuhumSufficient (for) themجَهَنَّمُjahannamu(is) Hellيَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖyaṣlawnahāthey will burn in itفَبِئْسَfabi'saand worst isٱلْمَصِيرُl-maṣīruthe destination
Have you not considered those who were forbidden from private conversation, then they return to that which they were forbidden and converse among themselves about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger? And when they come to you, they greet you with that [word] by which Allah does not greet you and say among themselves, "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?" Sufficient for them is Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the destination

58:8
9
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا تَنَـٰجَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūO you who believeإِذَاidhāWhenتَنَـٰجَيْتُمْtanājaytumyou hold secret counselفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟tatanājawhold secret counselبِٱلْإِثْمِbil-ith'mifor sinوَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِwal-ʿud'wāniand aggressionوَمَعْصِيَتِwamaʿṣiyatiand disobedienceٱلرَّسُولِl-rasūli(to) the Messengerوَتَنَـٰجَوْا۟watanājawbut hold secret counselبِٱلْبِرِّbil-birifor righteousnessوَٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖwal-taqwāand pietyوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahٱلَّذِىٓalladhīthe One Whoإِلَيْهِilayhito Himتُحْشَرُونَtuḥ'sharūnayou will be gathered
O you who have believed, when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, to whom you will be gathered

58:9
10
إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيْسَ بِضَآرِّهِمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱلنَّجْوَىٰl-najwāthe secret counselsمِنَmina(are) fromٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِl-shayṭānithe Shaitaanلِيَحْزُنَliyaḥzunathat he may grieveٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَلَيْسَwalaysabut notبِضَآرِّهِمْbiḍārrihimhe (can) harm themشَيْـًٔاshayan(in) anythingإِلَّاillāexceptبِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby Allah's permissionٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiby Allah's permissionوَعَلَىwaʿalāAnd uponٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِfalyatawakkalilet put (their) trustٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believers
Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely

58:10
11
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا۟ فِى ٱلْمَجَـٰلِسِ فَٱفْسَحُوا۟ يَفْسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ ٱنشُزُوا۟ فَٱنشُزُوا۟ يَرْفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūO you who believeإِذَاidhāWhenقِيلَqīlait is saidلَكُمْlakumto youتَفَسَّحُوا۟tafassaḥūMake roomفِىfīinٱلْمَجَـٰلِسِl-majālisithe assembliesفَٱفْسَحُوا۟fa-if'saḥūthen make roomيَفْسَحِyafsaḥiAllah will make roomٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will make roomلَكُمْ ۖlakumfor youوَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait is saidٱنشُزُوا۟unshuzūRise upفَٱنشُزُوا۟fa-unshuzūthen rise upيَرْفَعِyarfaʿiAllah will raiseٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will raiseٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveمِنكُمْminkumamong youوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoأُوتُوا۟ūtūwere givenٱلْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledgeدَرَجَـٰتٍۢ ۚdarajātin(in) degreesوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doخَبِيرٌۭkhabīrun(is) All-Aware
O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space; Allah will make space for you. And when you are told, "Arise," then arise; Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do

58:11
12
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نَـٰجَيْتُمُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوَىٰكُمْ صَدَقَةًۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُ ۚ فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūO you who believeإِذَاidhāWhenنَـٰجَيْتُمُnājaytumuyou privately consultٱلرَّسُولَl-rasūlathe Messengerفَقَدِّمُوا۟faqaddimūthen offerبَيْنَbaynabeforeيَدَىْyadaybeforeنَجْوَىٰكُمْnajwākumyour private consultationصَدَقَةًۭ ۚṣadaqatancharityذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterلَّكُمْlakumfor youوَأَطْهَرُ ۚwa-aṭharuand purerفَإِنfa-inBut ifلَّمْlamnotتَجِدُوا۟tajidūyou findفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
O you who have believed, when you [wish to] privately consult the Messenger, present before your consultation a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you find not [the means] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

58:12
13
ءَأَشْفَقْتُمْ أَن تُقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ نَجْوَىٰكُمْ صَدَقَـٰتٍۢ ۚ فَإِذْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا۟ وَتَابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
ءَأَشْفَقْتُمْa-ashfaqtumAre you afraidأَنantoتُقَدِّمُوا۟tuqaddimūofferبَيْنَbaynabeforeيَدَىْyadaybeforeنَجْوَىٰكُمْnajwākumyour private consultationصَدَقَـٰتٍۢ ۚṣadaqātincharitiesفَإِذْfa-idhThen whenلَمْlamyou do notتَفْعَلُوا۟tafʿalūyou do notوَتَابَwatābaand Allah has forgivenٱللَّهُl-lahuand Allah has forgivenعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumyouفَأَقِيمُوا۟fa-aqīmūthen establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَءَاتُوا۟waātūand giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَl-zakatathe zakahوَأَطِيعُوا۟wa-aṭīʿūand obeyٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚwarasūlahuand His Messengerوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَبِيرٌۢkhabīrun(is) All-Awareبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
Have you feared to present before your consultation charities? Then when you do not and Allah has forgiven you, then [at least] establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do

58:13
14
۞ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ قَوْمًا غَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَا مِنْهُمْ وَيَحْلِفُونَ عَلَى ٱلْكَذِبِ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
۞ أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeإِلَىilā[to]ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoتَوَلَّوْا۟tawallawtake as alliesقَوْمًاqawmana peopleغَضِبَghaḍibawrathٱللَّهُl-lahu(of) Allahعَلَيْهِمʿalayhim(is) upon themمَّاmāThey (are) notهُمhumThey (are) notمِّنكُمْminkumof youوَلَاwalāand notمِنْهُمْmin'humof themوَيَحْلِفُونَwayaḥlifūnaand they swearعَلَىʿalātoٱلْكَذِبِl-kadhibithe lieوَهُمْwahumwhile theyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
Have you not considered those who make allies of a people with whom Allah has become angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know [they are lying]

58:14
15
أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
أَعَدَّaʿaddaAllah has preparedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابًۭاʿadhābana punishmentشَدِيدًا ۖshadīdansevereإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, [they]سَآءَsāaevil isمَاmāwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
Allah has prepared for them a severe punishment. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing

58:15
16
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَـٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةًۭ فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ittakhadhūThey have takenأَيْمَـٰنَهُمْaymānahumtheir oathsجُنَّةًۭjunnatan(as) a coverفَصَدُّوا۟faṣaddūso they hinderعَنʿanfromسَبِيلِsabīli(the) way of Allahٱللَّهِl-lahi(the) way of Allahفَلَهُمْfalahumso for themعَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(is) a punishmentمُّهِينٌۭmuhīnunhumiliating
They took their [false] oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah, and for them is a humiliating punishment

58:16
17
لَّن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
لَّنlanNeverتُغْنِىَtugh'niyawill availعَنْهُمْʿanhumthemأَمْوَٰلُهُمْamwāluhumtheir wealthوَلَآwalāand notأَوْلَـٰدُهُمawlāduhumtheir childrenمِّنَminaagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahشَيْـًٔا ۚshayan(in) anythingأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseأَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(will be) companionsٱلنَّارِ ۖl-nāri(of) the Fireهُمْhumtheyفِيهَاfīhāin itخَـٰلِدُونَkhālidūnawill abide forever
Never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally

58:17
18
يَوْمَ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًۭا فَيَحْلِفُونَ لَهُۥ كَمَا يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَ
يَوْمَyawma(On the) DayيَبْعَثُهُمُyabʿathuhumuAllah will raise themٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah will raise themجَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallفَيَحْلِفُونَfayaḥlifūnathen they will swearلَهُۥlahuto Himكَمَاkamāasيَحْلِفُونَyaḥlifūnathey swearلَكُمْ ۖlakumto youوَيَحْسَبُونَwayaḥsabūnaAnd they thinkأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyعَلَىٰʿalā(are) onشَىْءٍ ۚshayinsomethingأَلَآalāNo doubtإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyهُمُhumu[they]ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَl-kādhibūna(are) the liars
On the Day Allah will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something. Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars

58:18
19
ٱسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ ذِكْرَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
ٱسْتَحْوَذَis'taḥwadhaHas overcomeعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuthemٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaanفَأَنسَىٰهُمْfa-ansāhumso he made them forgetذِكْرَdhik'ra(the) remembranceٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseحِزْبُḥiz'bu(are the) partyٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ۚl-shayṭāni(of) the ShaitaanأَلَآalāNo doubtإِنَّinnaIndeedحِزْبَḥiz'ba(the) partyٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِl-shayṭāni(of) the Shaitaanهُمُhumutheyٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(will be) the losers
Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of Allah. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers

58:19
20
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآدُّونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْأَذَلِّينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُحَآدُّونَyuḥāddūnaopposeٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥٓwarasūlahuand His Messengerأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseفِىfī(will be) amongٱلْأَذَلِّينَl-adhalīnathe most humiliated
Indeed, the ones who oppose Allah and His Messenger - those will be among the most humbled

58:20
21
كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا۠ وَرُسُلِىٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌۭ
كَتَبَkatabaAllah has decreedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has decreedلَأَغْلِبَنَّla-aghlibannaSurely, I will overcomeأَنَا۠anāIوَرُسُلِىٓ ۚwarusulīand My MessengersإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahقَوِىٌّqawiyyun(is) All-StrongعَزِيزٌۭʿazīzunAll-Mighty
Allah has written, "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers." Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might

58:21
22
لَّا تَجِدُ قَوْمًۭا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ يُوَآدُّونَ مَنْ حَآدَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٍۢ مِّنْهُ ۖ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ رَضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
لَّاlāYou will not findتَجِدُtajiduYou will not findقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believeبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَٱلْيَوْمِwal-yawmiand the Dayٱلْـَٔاخِرِl-ākhirithe Lastيُوَآدُّونَyuwāddūnalovingمَنْman(those) whoحَآدَّḥāddaopposeٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messengerوَلَوْwalaweven ifكَانُوٓا۟kānūthey wereءَابَآءَهُمْābāahumtheir fathersأَوْaworأَبْنَآءَهُمْabnāahumtheir sonsأَوْaworإِخْوَٰنَهُمْikh'wānahumtheir brothersأَوْaworعَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚʿashīratahumtheir kindredأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose كَتَبَkatabaHe has decreedفِىfīwithinقُلُوبِهِمُqulūbihimutheir heartsٱلْإِيمَـٰنَl-īmānafaithوَأَيَّدَهُمwa-ayyadahumand supported themبِرُوحٍۢbirūḥinwith a spiritمِّنْهُ ۖmin'hufrom Himوَيُدْخِلُهُمْwayud'khiluhumAnd He will admit themجَنَّـٰتٍۢjannātin(to) Gardensتَجْرِىtajrīflowمِنminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath itٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُl-anhāruthe riversخَـٰلِدِينَkhālidīnawill abide foreverفِيهَا ۚfīhāin itرَضِىَraḍiyaAllah is pleasedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah is pleasedعَنْهُمْʿanhumwith themوَرَضُوا۟waraḍūand they are pleasedعَنْهُ ۚʿanhuwith Himأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseحِزْبُḥiz'bu(are the) partyٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) AllahأَلَآalāNo doubtإِنَّinnaIndeedحِزْبَḥiz'ba(the) partyٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahهُمُhumutheyٱلْمُفْلِحُونَl-muf'liḥūna(are) the successful ones
You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful
