Surah 45 of 114 · Makki
سُورَةُ الجَاثِيَةِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
2
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
تَنزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelationٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Bookمِنَmina(is) fromٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمِl-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise

3
إِنَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَlil'mu'minīnafor the believers
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers

45:3
4
وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَـٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ
وَفِىwafīAnd inخَلْقِكُمْkhalqikumyour creationوَمَاwamāand whatيَبُثُّyabuthuHe dispersesمِنminofدَآبَّةٍdābbatin(the) moving creaturesءَايَـٰتٌۭāyātun(are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُوقِنُونَyūqinūnawho are certain
And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith]

45:4
5
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍۢ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَـٰحِ ءَايَـٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِwa-ikh'tilāfiAnd (in the) alternationٱلَّيْلِal-layli(of) the nightوَٱلنَّهَارِwal-nahāriand the dayوَمَآwamāand whatأَنزَلَanzalaAllah sends downٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah sends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمِنminofرِّزْقٍۢriz'qin(the) provisionفَأَحْيَاfa-aḥyāand gives lifeبِهِbihitherebyٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathوَتَصْرِيفِwataṣrīfiand (in) directingٱلرِّيَـٰحِl-riyāḥi(the) windsءَايَـٰتٌۭāyātun(are) Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho reason
And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason

45:5
6
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ
تِلْكَtil'kaTheseءَايَـٰتُāyātu(are the) Versesٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahنَتْلُوهَاnatlūhāWe recite themعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youبِٱلْحَقِّ ۖbil-ḥaqiin truthفَبِأَىِّfabi-ayyiThen in whatحَدِيثٍۭḥadīthinstatementبَعْدَbaʿdaafterٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَءَايَـٰتِهِۦwaāyātihiand His Versesيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawill they believe
These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe

7
وَيْلٌۭ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ
وَيْلٌۭwaylunWoeلِّكُلِّlikullito everyأَفَّاكٍaffākinliarأَثِيمٍۢathīminsinful
Woe to every sinful liar

45:7
8
يَسْمَعُ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ
يَسْمَعُyasmaʿuWho hearsءَايَـٰتِāyāti(the) Versesٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahتُتْلَىٰtut'lārecitedعَلَيْهِʿalayhito himثُمَّthummathenيُصِرُّyuṣirrupersistsمُسْتَكْبِرًۭاmus'takbiranarrogantlyكَأَنka-anas ifلَّمْlamnotيَسْمَعْهَا ۖyasmaʿhāhe heard themفَبَشِّرْهُfabashir'huSo give him tidingsبِعَذَابٍbiʿadhābin(of) a punishmentأَلِيمٍۢalīminpainful
Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment

45:8
9
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا شَيْـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenعَلِمَʿalimahe knowsمِنْminofءَايَـٰتِنَاāyātināOur Versesشَيْـًٔاshayananythingٱتَّخَذَهَاittakhadhahāhe takes themهُزُوًا ۚhuzuwan(in) ridiculeأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThose لَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(is) a punishmentمُّهِينٌۭmuhīnunhumiliating
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment

45:9
10
مِّن وَرَآئِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا۟ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
مِّنminBefore themوَرَآئِهِمْwarāihimBefore themجَهَنَّمُ ۖjahannamu(is) Hellوَلَاwalāand notيُغْنِىyugh'nīwill availعَنْهُمʿanhumthemمَّاmāwhatكَسَبُوا۟kasabūthey had earnedشَيْـًۭٔاshayananythingوَلَاwalāand notمَاmāwhatٱتَّخَذُوا۟ittakhadhūthey had takenمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَوْلِيَآءَ ۖawliyāa(as) protectorsوَلَهُمْwalahumAnd for themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentعَظِيمٌʿaẓīmungreat
Before them is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allah as allies. And they will have a great punishment

45:10
11
هَـٰذَا هُدًۭى ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ
هَـٰذَاhādhāThisهُدًۭى ۖhudan(is) guidanceوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveبِـَٔايَـٰتِbiāyātiin (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌۭʿadhābun(is) a punishmentمِّنminofرِّجْزٍrij'zinfilthأَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
This [Qur'an] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature

45:11
12
۞ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
۞ ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Whoسَخَّرَsakharasubjectedلَكُمُlakumuto youٱلْبَحْرَl-baḥrathe seaلِتَجْرِىَlitajriyathat may sailٱلْفُلْكُl-ful'kuthe shipsفِيهِfīhithereinبِأَمْرِهِۦbi-amrihiby His Commandوَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟walitabtaghūand that you may seekمِنminofفَضْلِهِۦfaḍlihiHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnagive thanks
It is Allah who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful

45:12
13
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا مِّنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
وَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He has subjectedلَكُمlakumto youمَّاmāwhateverفِىfī(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whateverفِىfī(is) inٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth جَمِيعًۭاjamīʿanallمِّنْهُ ۚmin'hufrom HimإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَـٰتٍۢlaāyātinsurely are Signsلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho give thought
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought

45:13
14
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجْزِىَ قَوْمًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
قُلqulSayلِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveيَغْفِرُوا۟yaghfirū(to) forgiveلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnathose whoلَاlā(do) notيَرْجُونَyarjūnahopeأَيَّامَayyāma(for the) daysٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahلِيَجْزِىَliyajziyathat He may recompenseقَوْمًۢاqawmana peopleبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toيَكْسِبُونَyaksibūnaearn
Say, [O Muhammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allah so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn

45:14
15
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ
مَنْmanWhoeverعَمِلَʿamiladoesصَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥana righteous deedفَلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖfalinafsihithen it is for his soulوَمَنْwamanand whoeverأَسَآءَasāadoes evilفَعَلَيْهَا ۖfaʿalayhāthen it (is) against itثُمَّthummaThenإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lordتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then to your Lord you will be returned

45:15
16
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveبَنِىٓbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israelٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Bookوَٱلْحُكْمَwal-ḥuk'maand the wisdomوَٱلنُّبُوَّةَwal-nubuwataand the Prophethoodوَرَزَقْنَـٰهُمwarazaqnāhumand We provided themمِّنَminaofٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِl-ṭayibātithe good thingsوَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْwafaḍḍalnāhumand We preferred themعَلَىʿalāoverٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīnathe worlds
And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds

45:16
17
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمwaātaynāhumAnd We gave themبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclear proofsمِّنَminaofٱلْأَمْرِ ۖl-amrithe matterفَمَاfamāAnd notٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ikh'talafūthey differedإِلَّاillāexceptمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاmā[what]جَآءَهُمُjāahumucame to themٱلْعِلْمُl-ʿil'muthe knowledgeبَغْيًۢاbaghyan(out of) envyبَيْنَهُمْ ۚbaynahumbetween themselvesإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordيَقْضِىyaqḍīwill judgeبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionفِيمَاfīmāabout whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toفِيهِfīhithereinيَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ

45:17
18
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ فَٱتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
ثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلْنَـٰكَjaʿalnākaWe put youعَلَىٰʿalāonشَرِيعَةٍۢsharīʿatinan ordained wayمِّنَminaofٱلْأَمْرِl-amrithe matterفَٱتَّبِعْهَاfa-ittabiʿ'hāso follow itوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَتَّبِعْtattabiʿfollowأَهْوَآءَahwāa(the) desiresٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoلَاlā(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
Then We put you, [O Muhammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know

45:18
19
إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا۟ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍۢ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyلَنlanneverيُغْنُوا۟yugh'nūwill availعَنكَʿankayouمِنَminaagainstٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahشَيْـًۭٔا ۚshayan(in) anythingوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoersبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themأَوْلِيَآءُawliyāu(are) alliesبَعْضٍۢ ۖbaʿḍin(of) othersوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuand Allahوَلِىُّwaliyyu(is the) Protectorٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(of) the righteous
Indeed, they will never avail you against Allah at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allah is the protector of the righteous

45:19
20
هَـٰذَا بَصَـٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ
هَـٰذَاhādhāThisبَصَـٰٓئِرُbaṣāiru(is) enlightenmentلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor mankindوَهُدًۭىwahudanand guidanceوَرَحْمَةٌۭwaraḥmatunand mercyلِّقَوْمٍۢliqawminfor a peopleيُوقِنُونَyūqinūnawho are certain
This [Qur'an] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith]

45:20
21
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجْعَلَهُمْ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَوَآءًۭ مَّحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
أَمْamDoحَسِبَḥasibathinkٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱجْتَرَحُوا۟ij'taraḥūcommitٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِl-sayiātievil deedsأَنanthatنَّجْعَلَهُمْnajʿalahumWe will make themكَٱلَّذِينَka-alladhīnalike those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelievedوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsسَوَآءًۭsawāanequalمَّحْيَاهُمْmaḥyāhum(in) their lifeوَمَمَاتُهُمْ ۚwamamātuhumand their deathسَآءَsāaEvil isمَاmāwhatيَحْكُمُونَyaḥkumūnathey judge
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds - [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge

45:21
22
وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
وَخَلَقَwakhalaqaAnd Allah createdٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah createdٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَلِتُجْزَىٰwalituj'zāand that may be recompensedكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍۭnafsinsoulبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبَتْkasabatit has earnedوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاlāwill not be wrongedيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnawill not be wronged
And Allah created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged

45:22
23
أَفَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍۢ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِۦ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَـٰوَةًۭ فَمَن يَهْدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaHave you seenمَنِmani(he) whoٱتَّخَذَittakhadhatakesإِلَـٰهَهُۥilāhahu(as) his godهَوَىٰهُhawāhuhis desireوَأَضَلَّهُwa-aḍallahuand Allah lets him go astrayٱللَّهُl-lahuand Allah lets him go astrayعَلَىٰʿalāknowinglyعِلْمٍۢʿil'minknowinglyوَخَتَمَwakhatamaand He sets a sealعَلَىٰʿalāuponسَمْعِهِۦsamʿihihis hearingوَقَلْبِهِۦwaqalbihiand his heartوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand putsعَلَىٰʿalāoverبَصَرِهِۦbaṣarihihis visionغِشَـٰوَةًۭghishāwatana veilفَمَنfamanThen whoيَهْدِيهِyahdīhiwill guide himمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahiAllahأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnayou receive admonition
Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah? Then will you not be reminded

45:23
24
وَقَالُوا۟ مَا هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهْرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they sayمَاmāNotهِىَhiyaitإِلَّاillā(is) butحَيَاتُنَاḥayātunāour lifeٱلدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldنَمُوتُnamūtuwe dieوَنَحْيَاwanaḥyāand we liveوَمَاwamāand notيُهْلِكُنَآyuh'likunādestroys usإِلَّاillāexceptٱلدَّهْرُ ۚl-dahruthe timeوَمَاwamāAnd notلَهُمlahumfor themبِذَٰلِكَbidhālikaof thatمِنْminanyعِلْمٍ ۖʿil'minknowledgeإِنْinnotهُمْhumtheyإِلَّاillā(do) butيَظُنُّونَyaẓunnūnaguess
And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming

45:24
25
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenتُتْلَىٰtut'lāare recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَـٰتُنَاāyātunāOur Versesبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclearمَّاmānotكَانَkānaisحُجَّتَهُمْḥujjatahumtheir argumentإِلَّآillāexceptأَنanthatقَالُوا۟qālūthey sayٱئْتُوا۟i'tūBringبِـَٔابَآئِنَآbiābāināour forefathersإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou areصَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful

45:25
26
قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
قُلِquliSayٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahيُحْيِيكُمْyuḥ'yīkumgives you lifeثُمَّthummathenيُمِيتُكُمْyumītukumcauses you to dieثُمَّthummathenيَجْمَعُكُمْyajmaʿukumHe will gather youإِلَىٰilātoيَوْمِyawmi(the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionلَاlānoرَيْبَraybadoubtفِيهِfīhiabout itوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnaButأَكْثَرَaktharamostٱلنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
Say, "Allah causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know

45:26
27
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَخْسَرُ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
وَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd for Allahمُلْكُmul'ku(is the) dominionٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earthوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) Dayتَقُومُtaqūmuis establishedٱلسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe Hourيَوْمَئِذٍۢyawma-idhinthat Dayيَخْسَرُyakhsaruwill loseٱلْمُبْطِلُونَl-mub'ṭilūnathe falsifiers
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose

45:27
28
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍۢ جَاثِيَةًۭ ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍۢ تُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَتَرَىٰwatarāAnd you will seeكُلَّkullaeveryأُمَّةٍۢummatinnationجَاثِيَةًۭ ۚjāthiyatankneelingكُلُّkulluEveryأُمَّةٍۢummatinnationتُدْعَىٰٓtud'ʿāwill be calledإِلَىٰilātoكِتَـٰبِهَاkitābihāits recordٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmaTodayتُجْزَوْنَtuj'zawnayou will be recompensedمَاmā(for) whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do

45:28
29
هَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
هَـٰذَاhādhāThisكِتَـٰبُنَاkitābunāOur Recordيَنطِقُyanṭiquspeaksعَلَيْكُمʿalaykumabout youبِٱلْحَقِّ ۚbil-ḥaqiin truthإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weكُنَّاkunnā[We] used toنَسْتَنسِخُnastansikhutranscribeمَاmāwhatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed whatever you used to do

45:29
30
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
فَأَمَّاfa-ammāThen as forٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelievedوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deedsفَيُدْخِلُهُمْfayud'khiluhumwill admit themرَبُّهُمْrabbuhumtheir Lordفِىfīin(to)رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚraḥmatihiHis mercyذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatهُوَhuwa[it]ٱلْفَوْزُl-fawzu(is) the successٱلْمُبِينُl-mubīnuclear
So as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is what is the clear attainment

45:30
31
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوٓا۟kafarūdisbelievedأَفَلَمْafalamThen were notتَكُنْtakunThen were notءَايَـٰتِىāyātīMy Versesتُتْلَىٰtut'lārecitedعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumto youفَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْfa-is'takbartumbut you were proudوَكُنتُمْwakuntumand you becameقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleمُّجْرِمِينَmuj'rimīnacriminals
But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], "Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a people of criminals

45:31
32
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّۭ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّۭا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait was saidإِنَّinnaIndeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promiseٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّۭḥaqqun(is) trueوَٱلسَّاعَةُwal-sāʿatuand the Hour لَاlā(there is) noرَيْبَraybadoubtفِيهَاfīhāabout itقُلْتُمqul'tumyou saidمَّاmāNotنَدْرِىnadrīwe knowمَاmāwhatٱلسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe Hour (is)إِنinNotنَّظُنُّnaẓunnuwe thinkإِلَّاillāexceptظَنًّۭاẓannanan assumptionوَمَاwamāand notنَحْنُnaḥnuweبِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَbimus'tayqinīna(are) convinced
And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced

45:32
33
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
وَبَدَاwabadāAnd (will) appearلَهُمْlahumto themسَيِّـَٔاتُsayyiātu(the) evilمَاmā(of) whatعَمِلُوا۟ʿamilūthey didوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand (will) envelopبِهِمbihimthemمَّاmāwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedبِهِۦbihi[at it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūna(to) mock
And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule

45:33
34
وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be saidٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmaTodayنَنسَىٰكُمْnansākumWe forget youكَمَاkamāasنَسِيتُمْnasītumyou forgotلِقَآءَliqāa(the) meetingيَوْمِكُمْyawmikum(of) this Day of yoursهَـٰذَاhādhā(of) this Day of yoursوَمَأْوَىٰكُمُwamawākumuand your abodeٱلنَّارُl-nāru(is) the Fireوَمَاwamāand notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنminanyنَّـٰصِرِينَnāṣirīnahelpers
And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers

45:34
35
ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوًۭا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ
ذَٰلِكُمdhālikumThatبِأَنَّكُمُbi-annakumu(is) because youٱتَّخَذْتُمْittakhadhtumtookءَايَـٰتِāyāti(the) Versesٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahهُزُوًۭاhuzuwan(in) ridiculeوَغَرَّتْكُمُwagharratkumuand deceived youٱلْحَيَوٰةُl-ḥayatuthe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا ۚl-dun'yā(of) the worldفَٱلْيَوْمَfal-yawmaSo this Dayلَاlānotيُخْرَجُونَyukh'rajūnathey will be brought forthمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُسْتَعْتَبُونَyus'taʿtabūnawill be asked to appease
That is because you took the verses of Allah in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah]

45:35
36
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَلِلَّهِfalillahiThen for Allahٱلْحَمْدُl-ḥamdu(is) all the praiseرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَرَبِّwarabbiand (the) Lordٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍi(of) the earthرَبِّrabbi(the) lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
Then, to Allah belongs [all] praise - Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, Lord of the worlds

45:36
37
وَلَهُ ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
وَلَهُwalahuAnd for Himٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُl-kib'riyāu(is) the greatnessفِىfīinٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖwal-arḍiand the earthوَهُوَwahuwaand Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
And to Him belongs [all] grandeur within the heavens and the earth, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

45:37
