Say, "How wretched is that which your faith enjoins upon you, if you should be believers."
- 2:108 · Al-Baqarahبِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ with [the] faithOr do you intend to ask your Messenger as Moses was asked before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.
- 2:109 · Al-Baqarahإِيمَـٰنِكُمْ your (having) faithMany of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allah delivers His command. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
- 2:143 · Al-Baqarahإِيمَـٰنَكُمْ ۚ your faithAnd thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allah has guided. And never would Allah have caused you to lose your faith. Indeed Allah is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.
- 3:86 · Ali 'Imranإِيمَـٰنِهِمْ their beliefHow shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -
- 3:173 · Ali 'Imranإِيمَـٰنًۭا (in) faithThose to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."

[They should be] chaste, neither [of] those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take [secret] lovers. But once they are sheltered in marriage, if they should commit adultery, then for them is half the punishment for free [unmarried] women.
