Surah 49 of 114 · Madani
سُورَةُ الحُجُرَاتِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌۭ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believeلَاlā(Do) notتُقَدِّمُوا۟tuqaddimūput (yourselves) forward بَيْنَbaynabefore Allahيَدَىِyadayibefore Allahٱللَّهِl-lahibefore Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖwarasūlihiand His Messengerوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūand fear Allahٱللَّهَ ۚl-lahaand fear AllahإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearerعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmunAll-Knower
O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing

49:1
2
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَرْفَعُوٓا۟ أَصْوَٰتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا۟ لَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَن تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَـٰلُكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believeلَاlā(Do) notتَرْفَعُوٓا۟tarfaʿūraiseأَصْوَٰتَكُمْaṣwātakumyour voicesفَوْقَfawqaaboveصَوْتِṣawti(the) voiceٱلنَّبِىِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophetوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَجْهَرُوا۟tajharūbe loudلَهُۥlahuto himبِٱلْقَوْلِbil-qawliin speechكَجَهْرِkajahrilike (the) loudnessبَعْضِكُمْbaʿḍikum(of) some of youلِبَعْضٍlibaʿḍinto othersأَنanlestتَحْبَطَtaḥbaṭabecome worthlessأَعْمَـٰلُكُمْaʿmālukumyour deedsوَأَنتُمْwa-antumwhile youلَاlā(do) notتَشْعُرُونَtashʿurūnaperceive
O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not

49:2
3
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱمْتَحَنَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَغُضُّونَyaghuḍḍūnalowerأَصْوَٰتَهُمْaṣwātahumtheir voicesعِندَʿinda(in) presenceرَسُولِrasūli(of the) Messenger of Allah ٱللَّهِl-lahi(of the) Messenger of Allah أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikathoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the onesٱمْتَحَنَim'taḥanaAllah has testedٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah has testedقُلُوبَهُمْqulūbahumtheir heartsلِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚlilttaqwāfor righteousnessلَهُمlahumFor themمَّغْفِرَةٌۭmaghfiratun(is) forgivenessوَأَجْرٌwa-ajrunand a rewardعَظِيمٌʿaẓīmungreat
Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward

49:3
4
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ ٱلْحُجُرَٰتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُنَادُونَكَyunādūnakacall youمِنminfromوَرَآءِwarāibehindٱلْحُجُرَٰتِl-ḥujurātithe private chambersأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themلَاlā(do) notيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnaunderstand
Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason

49:4
5
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifأَنَّهُمْannahumtheyصَبَرُوا۟ṣabarūhad been patientحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتَخْرُجَtakhrujayou came outإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themلَكَانَlakānacertainly it would beخَيْرًۭاkhayranbetterلَّهُمْ ۚlahumfor themوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

49:5
6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن جَآءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَإٍۢ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ أَن تُصِيبُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢ فَتُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَـٰدِمِينَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūO you who believeإِنinIfجَآءَكُمْjāakumcomes to youفَاسِقٌۢfāsiquna wicked personبِنَبَإٍۢbinaba-inwith informationفَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟fatabayyanūinvestigateأَنanlestتُصِيبُوا۟tuṣībūyou harmقَوْمًۢاqawmana peopleبِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢbijahālatinin ignoranceفَتُصْبِحُوا۟fatuṣ'biḥūthen you becomeعَلَىٰʿalāoverمَاmāwhatفَعَلْتُمْfaʿaltumyou have doneنَـٰدِمِينَnādimīnaregretful
O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful

49:6
7
وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِى كَثِيرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ وَٱلْفُسُوقَ وَٱلْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ
وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟wa-iʿ'lamūAnd knowأَنَّannathatفِيكُمْfīkumamong youرَسُولَrasūla(is the) Messenger of Allahٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(is the) Messenger of AllahلَوْlawIfيُطِيعُكُمْyuṭīʿukumhe were to obey youفِىfīinكَثِيرٍۢkathīrinmuchمِّنَminaofٱلْأَمْرِl-amrithe matterلَعَنِتُّمْlaʿanittumsurely you would be in difficultyوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahحَبَّبَḥabbabahas endearedإِلَيْكُمُilaykumuto youٱلْإِيمَـٰنَl-īmānathe Faithوَزَيَّنَهُۥwazayyanahuand has made it pleasingفِىfīinقُلُوبِكُمْqulūbikumyour heartsوَكَرَّهَwakarrahaand has made hatefulإِلَيْكُمُilaykumuto youٱلْكُفْرَl-kuf'radisbeliefوَٱلْفُسُوقَwal-fusūqaand defianceوَٱلْعِصْيَانَ ۚwal-ʿiṣ'yānaand disobedienceأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseهُمُhumu(are) they ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَl-rāshidūnathe guided ones
And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided

49:7
8
فَضْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَنِعْمَةًۭ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌۭ
فَضْلًۭاfaḍlanA Bountyمِّنَminafrom Allahٱللَّهِl-lahifrom Allahوَنِعْمَةًۭ ۚwaniʿ'matanand favorوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-KnowerحَكِيمٌۭḥakīmunAll-Wise
[It is] as bounty from Allah and favor. And Allah is Knowing and Wise

49:8
9
وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِنۢ بَغَتْ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَـٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّتِى تَبْغِى حَتَّىٰ تَفِىٓءَ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن فَآءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifطَآئِفَتَانِṭāifatānitwo partiesمِنَminaamongٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersٱقْتَتَلُوا۟iq'tatalūfightفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥūthen make peaceبَيْنَهُمَا ۖbaynahumābetween both of themفَإِنۢfa-inBut ifبَغَتْbaghatoppressesإِحْدَىٰهُمَاiḥ'dāhumāone of themعَلَىʿalāonٱلْأُخْرَىٰl-ukh'rāthe otherفَقَـٰتِلُوا۟faqātilūthen fightٱلَّتِىallatīone whichتَبْغِىtabghīoppressesحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilتَفِىٓءَtafīait returnsإِلَىٰٓilātoأَمْرِamri(the) commandٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) Allahفَإِنfa-inThen ifفَآءَتْfāatit returnsفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥūthen make peaceبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumābetween themبِٱلْعَدْلِbil-ʿadliwith justiceوَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ ۖwa-aqsiṭūand act justlyإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُحِبُّyuḥibbulovesٱلْمُقْسِطِينَl-muq'siṭīnathose who act justly
And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly

49:9
10
إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌۭ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believersإِخْوَةٌۭikh'watun(are) brothersفَأَصْلِحُوا۟fa-aṣliḥūso make peaceبَيْنَbaynabetweenأَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚakhawaykumyour brothersوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūand fear Allahٱللَّهَl-lahaand fear Allahلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتُرْحَمُونَtur'ḥamūnareceive mercy
The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy

49:10
11
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌۭ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَآءٌۭ مِّن نِّسَآءٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا۟ بِٱلْأَلْقَـٰبِ ۖ بِئْسَ ٱلِٱسْمُ ٱلْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believeلَاlā(Let) notيَسْخَرْyaskharridiculeقَوْمٌۭqawmuna peopleمِّنmin[of]قَوْمٍqawmin(another) peopleعَسَىٰٓʿasāperhapsأَنanthatيَكُونُوا۟yakūnūthey may beخَيْرًۭاkhayranbetterمِّنْهُمْmin'humthan themوَلَاwalāand (let) notنِسَآءٌۭnisāonwomenمِّنmin[of]نِّسَآءٍnisāin(other) womenعَسَىٰٓʿasāperhapsأَنanthatيَكُنَّyakunnathey may beخَيْرًۭاkhayranbetterمِّنْهُنَّ ۖmin'hunnathan themوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَلْمِزُوٓا۟talmizūinsultأَنفُسَكُمْanfusakumyourselvesوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَنَابَزُوا۟tanābazūcall each otherبِٱلْأَلْقَـٰبِ ۖbil-alqābiby nicknamesبِئْسَbi'saWretched isٱلِٱسْمُl-s'muthe nameٱلْفُسُوقُl-fusūqu(of) disobedienceبَعْدَbaʿdaafterٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ ۚl-īmānithe faithوَمَنwamanAnd whoeverلَّمْlam(does) notيَتُبْyatubrepentفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikathen those هُمُhumutheyٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūna(are) the wrongdoers
O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers

49:11
12
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثْمٌۭ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا۟ وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًۭا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُوا۟āmanūO you who believeٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ij'tanibūAvoidكَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuchمِّنَminaofٱلظَّنِّl-ẓanithe assumptionإِنَّinnaIndeedبَعْضَbaʿḍasomeٱلظَّنِّl-ẓaniassumptionإِثْمٌۭ ۖith'mun(is) sinوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَجَسَّسُوا۟tajassasūspyوَلَاwalāand (do) notيَغْتَبyaghtabbackbiteبَّعْضُكُمbaʿḍukumsome of youبَعْضًا ۚbaʿḍan(to) othersأَيُحِبُّayuḥibbuWould likeأَحَدُكُمْaḥadukumone of youأَنantoيَأْكُلَyakulaeatلَحْمَlaḥma(the) fleshأَخِيهِakhīhi(of) his brotherمَيْتًۭاmaytandeadفَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚfakarih'tumūhuNay, you would hate itوَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fear Allahٱللَّهَ ۚl-lahaAnd fear Allahإِنَّinnaindeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahتَوَّابٌۭtawwābun(is) Oft-ReturningرَّحِيمٌۭraḥīmunMost Merciful
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful

49:12
13
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍۢ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ شُعُوبًۭا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتْقَىٰكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۭ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO mankindٱلنَّاسُl-nāsuO mankindإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weخَلَقْنَـٰكُمkhalaqnākumcreated youمِّنminfromذَكَرٍۢdhakarina maleوَأُنثَىٰwa-unthāand a femaleوَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْwajaʿalnākumand We made youشُعُوبًۭاshuʿūbannationsوَقَبَآئِلَwaqabāilaand tribesلِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ ۚlitaʿārafūthat you may know one anotherإِنَّinnaIndeedأَكْرَمَكُمْakramakum(the) most noble of youعِندَʿindanearٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَتْقَىٰكُمْ ۚatqākum(is the) most righteous of youإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-KnowerخَبِيرٌۭkhabīrunAll-Aware
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted

49:13
14
۞ قَالَتِ ٱلْأَعْرَابُ ءَامَنَّا ۖ قُل لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَلَـٰكِن قُولُوٓا۟ أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنُ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَا يَلِتْكُم مِّنْ أَعْمَـٰلِكُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ
۞ قَالَتِqālatiSayٱلْأَعْرَابُl-aʿrābuthe Bedouinsءَامَنَّا ۖāmannāWe believeقُلqulSayلَّمْlamNotتُؤْمِنُوا۟tu'minūyou believeوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutقُولُوٓا۟qūlūsayأَسْلَمْنَاaslamnāWe have submittedوَلَمَّاwalammāand has not yetيَدْخُلِyadkhulienteredٱلْإِيمَـٰنُl-īmānuthe faithفِىfīinقُلُوبِكُمْ ۖqulūbikumyour heartsوَإِنwa-inBut ifتُطِيعُوا۟tuṭīʿūyou obeyٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُۥwarasūlahuand His Messengerلَاlānotيَلِتْكُمyalit'kumHe will deprive youمِّنْminofأَعْمَـٰلِكُمْaʿmālikumyour deedsشَيْـًٔا ۚshayananythingإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahغَفُورٌۭghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingرَّحِيمٌraḥīmunMost Merciful
The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

49:14
15
إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا۟ وَجَـٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ
إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believersٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveبِٱللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَرَسُولِهِۦwarasūlihiand His Messengerثُمَّthummathenلَمْlam(do) notيَرْتَابُوا۟yartābūdoubtوَجَـٰهَدُوا۟wajāhadūbut striveبِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْbi-amwālihimwith their wealthوَأَنفُسِهِمْwa-anfusihimand their livesفِىfīinسَبِيلِsabīli(the) wayٱللَّهِ ۚl-lahi(of) Allahأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseهُمُhumu[they]ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَl-ṣādiqūna(are) the truthful
The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful

قُلْ أَتُعَلِّمُونَ ٱللَّهَ بِدِينِكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۭ
قُلْqulSayأَتُعَلِّمُونَatuʿallimūnaWill you acquaintٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahبِدِينِكُمْbidīnikumwith your religionوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuwhile Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاmāwhatفِىfī(is) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whatفِىfī(is) inٱلْأَرْضِ ۚl-arḍithe earthوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَىْءٍshayinthingعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmun(is) All-Knower
Say, "Would you acquaint Allah with your religion while Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is Knowing of all things

يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ ۖ قُل لَّا تَمُنُّوا۟ عَلَىَّ إِسْلَـٰمَكُم ۖ بَلِ ٱللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَىٰكُمْ لِلْإِيمَـٰنِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
يَمُنُّونَyamunnūnaThey consider (it) a favorعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youأَنْanthatأَسْلَمُوا۟ ۖaslamūthey have accepted IslamقُلqulSayلَّاlā(Do) notتَمُنُّوا۟tamunnūconsider a favorعَلَىَّʿalayyaon me إِسْلَـٰمَكُم ۖis'lāmakumyour IslamبَلِbaliNayٱللَّهُl-lahuAllahيَمُنُّyamunnuhas conferred a favorعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youأَنْanthatهَدَىٰكُمْhadākumHe has guided youلِلْإِيمَـٰنِlil'īmānito the faithإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou areصَـٰدِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, "Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful

49:17
18
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsغَيْبَghayba(the) unseenٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚwal-arḍiand the earthوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahبَصِيرٌۢbaṣīrun(is) All-Seerبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
Indeed, Allah knows the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seeing of what you do
