Surah 26 of 114 · Makki
سُورَةُ الشُّعَرَاءِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
2
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
تِلْكَtil'kaTheseءَايَـٰتُāyātu(are the) Versesٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Bookٱلْمُبِينِl-mubīniclear
These are the verses of the clear Book
⤳ Link
26:2
3
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
لَعَلَّكَlaʿallakaPerhaps youبَـٰخِعٌۭbākhiʿun(would) killنَّفْسَكَnafsakayourselfأَلَّاallāthat notيَكُونُوا۟yakūnūthey becomeمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers

26:3
4
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةًۭ فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
إِنinIfنَّشَأْnashaWe willنُنَزِّلْnunazzilWe can send downعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimto themمِّنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyءَايَةًۭāyatana Signفَظَلَّتْfaẓallatso would bendأَعْنَـٰقُهُمْaʿnāquhumtheir necksلَهَاlahāto itخَـٰضِعِينَkhāḍiʿīna(in) humility
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled

26:4
5
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
وَمَاwamāAnd (does) notيَأْتِيهِمyatīhimcome to themمِّنminanyذِكْرٍۢdhik'rinreminderمِّنَminafromٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousمُحْدَثٍmuḥ'dathinnewإِلَّاillābutكَانُوا۟kānūtheyعَنْهُʿanhufrom itمُعْرِضِينَmuʿ'riḍīnaturn away
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it

26:5
6
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
فَقَدْfaqadSo verilyكَذَّبُوا۟kadhabūthey have deniedفَسَيَأْتِيهِمْfasayatīhimthen will come to themأَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟anbāuthe newsمَاmā(of) whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedبِهِۦbihiat itيَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūna(to) mock
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule

26:6
7
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ
أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْا۟yarawthey seeإِلَىilāatٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth كَمْkamhow manyأَنۢبَتْنَاanbatnāWe producedفِيهَاfīhāin itمِنminofكُلِّkullieveryزَوْجٍۢzawjinkindكَرِيمٍkarīminnoble
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind

26:7
8
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely (is) a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

26:8
9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

26:9
10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenنَادَىٰnādāyour Lord calledرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lord calledمُوسَىٰٓmūsāMusaأَنِani[that]ٱئْتِi'tiGoٱلْقَوْمَl-qawma(to) the peopleٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīna(who are) wrongdoers
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people

26:10
11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
قَوْمَqawma(The) peopleفِرْعَوْنَ ۚfir'ʿawna(of) FiraunأَلَاalāWill notيَتَّقُونَyattaqūnathey fear
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah

26:11
12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearأَنanthatيُكَذِّبُونِyukadhibūnithey will deny me
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me

26:12
13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
وَيَضِيقُwayaḍīquAnd straitensصَدْرِىṣadrīmy breastوَلَاwalāand notيَنطَلِقُyanṭaliquexpresses wellلِسَانِىlisānīmy tongueفَأَرْسِلْfa-arsilso sendإِلَىٰilāforهَـٰرُونَhārūnaHarun
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron

26:13
14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
وَلَهُمْwalahumAnd they haveعَلَىَّʿalayyaagainst meذَنۢبٌۭdhanbuna crimeفَأَخَافُfa-akhāfuso I fearأَنanthatيَقْتُلُونِyaqtulūnithey will kill me
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me

26:14
15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidكَلَّا ۖkallāNayفَٱذْهَبَاfa-idh'habāgo both of youبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖbiāyātināwith Our SignsإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weمَعَكُمmaʿakum(are) with youمُّسْتَمِعُونَmus'tamiʿūnalistening
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening

26:15
16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَأْتِيَاfatiyāSo go both of youفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(to) Firaunفَقُولَآfaqūlāand sayإِنَّاinnā'Indeed, weرَسُولُrasūlu(are the) Messengerرَبِّrabbi(of the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds

26:16
17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
أَنْan[That]أَرْسِلْarsilsendمَعَنَاmaʿanāwith usبَنِىٓbanī(the) Children of Israel.'إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel.'
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel

26:17
18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidأَلَمْalamDid notنُرَبِّكَnurabbikawe bring you upفِينَاfīnāamong usوَلِيدًۭاwalīdan(as) a childوَلَبِثْتَwalabith'taand you remainedفِينَاfīnāamong usمِنْminofعُمُرِكَʿumurikayour lifeسِنِينَsinīnayears
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life

26:18
19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَفَعَلْتَwafaʿaltaAnd you didفَعْلَتَكَfaʿlatakayour deedٱلَّتِىallatīwhichفَعَلْتَfaʿaltayou didوَأَنتَwa-antaand youمِنَmina(were) ofٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe ungrateful
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful

26:19
20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًۭا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidفَعَلْتُهَآfaʿaltuhāI did itإِذًۭاidhanwhenوَأَنَا۠wa-anāIمِنَmina(was) ofٱلضَّآلِّينَl-ḍālīnathose who are astray
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray

26:20
21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًۭا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
فَفَرَرْتُfafarartuSo I fledمِنكُمْminkumfrom youلَمَّاlammāwhenخِفْتُكُمْkhif'tukumI feared youفَوَهَبَfawahabaBut grantedلِىlīto meرَبِّىrabbīmy Lordحُكْمًۭاḥuk'manjudgmentوَجَعَلَنِىwajaʿalanīand made meمِنَminaofٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers

26:21
22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌۭ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
وَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd thisنِعْمَةٌۭniʿ'matun(is the) favorتَمُنُّهَاtamunnuhāwith which you reproachعَلَىَّʿalayya[on] meأَنْanthatعَبَّدتَّʿabbadttayou have enslavedبَنِىٓbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel

26:22
23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
قَالَqālaFiraun saidفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraun saidوَمَاwamāAnd whatرَبُّrabbu(is the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds

26:23
24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّrabbuLordٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَآ ۖbaynahumā(is) between themإِنinifكُنتُمkuntumyou (should) beمُّوقِنِينَmūqinīnaconvinced
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced

26:24
25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidلِمَنْlimanto thoseحَوْلَهُۥٓḥawlahuaround himأَلَاalāDo notتَسْتَمِعُونَtastamiʿūnayou hear
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear

26:25
26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّكُمْrabbukumYour Lordوَرَبُّwarabbuand (the) Lordءَابَآئِكُمُābāikumu(of) your forefathersٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) your forefathers
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers

26:26
27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ
قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّinnaIndeedرَسُولَكُمُrasūlakumuyour Messengerٱلَّذِىٓalladhīwhoأُرْسِلَur'silahas been sentإِلَيْكُمْilaykumto youلَمَجْنُونٌۭlamajnūnun(is) surely mad
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad

26:27
28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّrabbuLordٱلْمَشْرِقِl-mashriqi(of) the eastوَٱلْمَغْرِبِwal-maghribiand the westوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَآ ۖbaynahumā(is) between themإِنinifكُنتُمْkuntumyou wereتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūna(to) reason
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason

26:28
29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidلَئِنِla-iniIfٱتَّخَذْتَittakhadhtayou takeإِلَـٰهًاilāhana godغَيْرِىghayrīother than meلَأَجْعَلَنَّكَla-ajʿalannakaI will surely make youمِنَminaamongٱلْمَسْجُونِينَl-masjūnīnathose imprisoned
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned

26:29
30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
قَالَqālaHe saidأَوَلَوْawalawEven ifجِئْتُكَji'tukaI bring youبِشَىْءٍۢbishayinsomethingمُّبِينٍۢmubīninmanifest
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest

26:30
31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidفَأْتِfatiThen bringبِهِۦٓbihiitإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful

26:31
32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
فَأَلْقَىٰfa-alqāSo he threwعَصَاهُʿaṣāhuhis staffفَإِذَاfa-idhāand beholdهِىَhiyaItثُعْبَانٌۭthuʿ'bānun(was) a serpentمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunmanifest
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest

33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
وَنَزَعَwanazaʿaAnd he drew outيَدَهُۥyadahuhis handفَإِذَاfa-idhāand beholdهِىَhiyaItبَيْضَآءُbayḍāu(was) whiteلِلنَّـٰظِرِينَlilnnāẓirīnafor the observers
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers

26:33
34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ
قَالَqālaHe saidلِلْمَلَإِlil'mala-ito the chiefsحَوْلَهُۥٓḥawlahuaround himإِنَّinnaIndeedهَـٰذَاhādhāthisلَسَـٰحِرٌlasāḥirun(is) surely a magicianعَلِيمٌۭʿalīmunlearned
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician

26:34
35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
يُرِيدُyurīduHe wantsأَنantoيُخْرِجَكُمyukh'rijakumdrive you outمِّنْminfromأَرْضِكُمarḍikumyour landبِسِحْرِهِۦbisiḥ'rihiby his magicفَمَاذَاfamādhāso whatتَأْمُرُونَtamurūna(do) you advise
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidأَرْجِهْarjihPostpone himوَأَخَاهُwa-akhāhuand his brotherوَٱبْعَثْwa-ib'ʿathand sendفِىfīinٱلْمَدَآئِنِl-madāinithe citiesحَـٰشِرِينَḥāshirīnagatherers
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

26:36
37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
يَأْتُوكَyatūkaThey (will) bring to youبِكُلِّbikullieveryسَحَّارٍsaḥḥārinmagicianعَلِيمٍۢʿalīminlearned
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician

26:37
38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
فَجُمِعَfajumiʿaSo were assembledٱلسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansلِمِيقَـٰتِlimīqātifor (the) appointmentيَوْمٍۢyawmin(on) a dayمَّعْلُومٍۢmaʿlūminwell-known
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day

39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it was saidلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito the peopleهَلْhalWillأَنتُمantumyouمُّجْتَمِعُونَmuj'tamiʿūnaassemble
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate

26:39
40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
لَعَلَّنَاlaʿallanāThat we mayنَتَّبِعُnattabiʿufollowٱلسَّحَرَةَl-saḥaratathe magiciansإِنinifكَانُوا۟kānūthey areهُمُhumuthey areٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَl-ghālibīnathe victorious
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant

26:40
41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
فَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenجَآءَjāacameٱلسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidلِفِرْعَوْنَlifir'ʿawnato Firaunأَئِنَّa-innaIs thereلَنَاlanāfor usلَأَجْرًاla-ajrana rewardإِنinifكُنَّاkunnāwe areنَحْنُnaḥnuwe areٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَl-ghālibīnathe victorious
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant

26:41
42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidنَعَمْnaʿamYesوَإِنَّكُمْwa-innakumand indeed youإِذًۭاidhanthenلَّمِنَlaminasurely (will be) ofٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَl-muqarabīnathe ones who are brought near
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]

26:42
43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
قَالَqālaSaidلَهُمlahumto themمُّوسَىٰٓmūsāMusaأَلْقُوا۟alqūThrowمَآmāwhatأَنتُمantumyouمُّلْقُونَmul'qūna(are) going to throw
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw

26:43
44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
فَأَلْقَوْا۟fa-alqawSo they threwحِبَالَهُمْḥibālahumtheir ropesوَعِصِيَّهُمْwaʿiṣiyyahumand their staffsوَقَالُوا۟waqālūand saidبِعِزَّةِbiʿizzatiBy the mightفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunإِنَّاinnāindeed, weلَنَحْنُlanaḥnusurely, weٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَl-ghālibūna(are) the victorious
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant

26:44
45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
فَأَلْقَىٰfa-alqāThen threwمُوسَىٰmūsāMusaعَصَاهُʿaṣāhuhis staffفَإِذَاfa-idhāand beholdهِىَhiyaItتَلْقَفُtalqafuswallowedمَاmāwhatيَأْفِكُونَyafikūnathey falsified
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified

فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
فَأُلْقِىَfa-ul'qiyaThen fell downٱلسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansسَـٰجِدِينَsājidīnaprostrate
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]

47
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِرَبِّbirabbiin (the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds

48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
رَبِّrabbiLordمُوسَىٰmūsā(of) Musaوَهَـٰرُونَwahārūnaand Harun
The Lord of Moses and Aaron

49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidءَامَنتُمْāmantumYou believedلَهُۥlahuin himقَبْلَqablabeforeأَنْan[that]ءَاذَنَādhanaI gave permissionلَكُمْ ۖlakumto youإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heلَكَبِيرُكُمُlakabīrukumu(is) surely your chiefٱلَّذِىalladhīwhoعَلَّمَكُمُʿallamakumuhas taught youٱلسِّحْرَl-siḥ'rathe magicفَلَسَوْفَfalasawfaso surely soonتَعْلَمُونَ ۚtaʿlamūnayou will knowلَأُقَطِّعَنَّla-uqaṭṭiʿannaI will surely cut offأَيْدِيَكُمْaydiyakumyour handsوَأَرْجُلَكُمwa-arjulakumand your feetمِّنْminofخِلَـٰفٍۢkhilāfinopposite sidesوَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْwala-uṣallibannakumand I will surely crucify youأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all

قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidلَاlāNoضَيْرَ ۖḍayraharmإِنَّآinnāIndeed, weإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّنَاrabbināour Lordمُنقَلِبُونَmunqalibūna(will) return
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return

51
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, weنَطْمَعُnaṭmaʿuhopeأَنanthatيَغْفِرَyaghfirawill forgiveلَنَاlanāusرَبُّنَاrabbunāour Lordخَطَـٰيَـٰنَآkhaṭāyānāour sinsأَنanbecauseكُنَّآkunnāwe areأَوَّلَawwala(the) firstٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(of) the believers
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers

52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآwa-awḥaynāAnd We inspiredإِلَىٰilātoمُوسَىٰٓmūsāMusaأَنْan[that]أَسْرِasriTravel by nightبِعِبَادِىٓbiʿibādīwith My slavesإِنَّكُمinnakumindeed, youمُّتَّبَعُونَmuttabaʿūna(will be) followed
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued

فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
فَأَرْسَلَfa-arsalaThen sentفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunفِىfīinٱلْمَدَآئِنِl-madāinithe citiesحَـٰشِرِينَḥāshirīnagatherers
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers

26:53
54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāitheseلَشِرْذِمَةٌۭlashir'dhimatun(are) certainly a bandقَلِيلُونَqalīlūnasmall
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band
⤳ Link
26:54
55
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
وَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumAnd indeed, theyلَنَاlanā[to] usلَغَآئِظُونَlaghāiẓūna(are) surely enraging
And indeed, they are enraging us
⤳ Link
26:55
56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
وَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed, weلَجَمِيعٌlajamīʿun(are) surely a multitudeحَـٰذِرُونَḥādhirūnaforewarned
And indeed, we are a cautious society

26:56
57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُمfa-akhrajnāhumSo We expelled themمِّنminfromجَنَّـٰتٍۢjannātingardensوَعُيُونٍۢwaʿuyūninand springs
So We removed them from gardens and springs

26:57
58
وَكُنُوزٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ
وَكُنُوزٍۢwakunūzinAnd treasuresوَمَقَامٍۢwamaqāminand a placeكَرِيمٍۢkarīminhonorable
And treasures and honorable station

26:58
59
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusوَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَاwa-awrathnāhāAnd We caused to inherit themبَنِىٓbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel

26:59
60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
فَأَتْبَعُوهُمfa-atbaʿūhumSo they followed themمُّشْرِقِينَmush'riqīna(at) sunrise
So they pursued them at sunrise

26:60
61
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenتَرَٰٓءَاtarāāsaw each otherٱلْجَمْعَانِl-jamʿānithe two hostsقَالَqālasaidأَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(the) companionsمُوسَىٰٓmūsā(of) MusaإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weلَمُدْرَكُونَlamud'rakūna(are) surely to be overtaken
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken

62
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
قَالَqālaHe saidكَلَّآ ۖkallāNayإِنَّinnaindeedمَعِىَmaʿiyawith meرَبِّىrabbī(is) my LordسَيَهْدِينِsayahdīniHe will guide me
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me

26:62
63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍۢ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
فَأَوْحَيْنَآfa-awḥaynāThen We inspiredإِلَىٰilātoمُوسَىٰٓmūsāMusaأَنِani[that]ٱضْرِبiḍ'ribStrikeبِّعَصَاكَbiʿaṣākawith your staffٱلْبَحْرَ ۖl-baḥrathe seaفَٱنفَلَقَfa-infalaqaSo it partedفَكَانَfakānaand becameكُلُّkullueachفِرْقٍۢfir'qinpartكَٱلطَّوْدِkal-ṭawdilike the mountainٱلْعَظِيمِl-ʿaẓīmi[the] great
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain

64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
وَأَزْلَفْنَاwa-azlafnāAnd We brought nearثَمَّthammathereٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
And We advanced thereto the pursuers
⤳ Link
26:64
65
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
وَأَنجَيْنَاwa-anjaynāAnd We savedمُوسَىٰmūsāMusaوَمَنwamanand whoمَّعَهُۥٓmaʿahu(were) with himأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together
⤳ Link
26:65
66
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
ثُمَّthummaThenأَغْرَقْنَاaghraqnāWe drownedٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
Then We drowned the others
⤳ Link
26:66
67
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely (is) a Signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

26:67
68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

69
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
وَٱتْلُwa-ut'luAnd reciteعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themنَبَأَnaba-a(the) newsإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahim
And recite to them the news of Abraham

26:69
70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālahe saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherوَقَوْمِهِۦwaqawmihiand his peopleمَاmāWhatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūna(do) you worship
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship

26:70
71
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidنَعْبُدُnaʿbuduWe worshipأَصْنَامًۭاaṣnāmanidolsفَنَظَلُّfanaẓalluso we will remainلَهَاlahāto themعَـٰكِفِينَʿākifīnadevoted
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted

26:71
72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidهَلْhalDoيَسْمَعُونَكُمْyasmaʿūnakumthey hear youإِذْidhwhenتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou call
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate
⤳ Link
26:72
73
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
أَوْawOrيَنفَعُونَكُمْyanfaʿūnakum(do) they benefit youأَوْaworيَضُرُّونَyaḍurrūnathey harm (you)
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm

26:73
74
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidبَلْbalNayوَجَدْنَآwajadnābut we foundءَابَآءَنَاābāanāour forefathersكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikalike that يَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnadoing
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus
⤳ Link
26:74
75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidأَفَرَءَيْتُمafara-aytumDo you seeمَّاmāwhatكُنتُمْkuntumyou have beenتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnaworshipping
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping

26:75
76
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
أَنتُمْantumYouوَءَابَآؤُكُمُwaābāukumuand your forefathersٱلْأَقْدَمُونَl-aqdamūnaand your forefathers
You and your ancient forefathers
⤳ Link
26:76
77
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَإِنَّهُمْfa-innahumIndeed, theyعَدُوٌّۭʿaduwwun(are) enemiesلِّىٓlīto meإِلَّاillāexceptرَبَّrabba(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds

26:77
78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThe One Whoخَلَقَنِىkhalaqanīcreated meفَهُوَfahuwaand Heيَهْدِينِyahdīniguides me
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me

26:78
79
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoهُوَhuwa[He]يُطْعِمُنِىyuṭ'ʿimunīgives me foodوَيَسْقِينِwayasqīniand gives me drink
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink

26:79
80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenمَرِضْتُmariḍ'tuI am illفَهُوَfahuwathen Heيَشْفِينِyashfīnicures me
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

26:80
81
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoيُمِيتُنِىyumītunīwill cause me to dieثُمَّthummathenيُحْيِينِyuḥ'yīnihe will give me life
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life

26:81
82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
وَٱلَّذِىٓwa-alladhīAnd the One Who أَطْمَعُaṭmaʿuI hopeأَنanthatيَغْفِرَyaghfiraHe will forgiveلِىlīfor meخَطِيٓـَٔتِىkhaṭīatīmy faultsيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلدِّينِl-dīni(of) the Judgment
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense

26:82
83
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
رَبِّrabbiMy LordهَبْhabGrantلِىlī[for] meحُكْمًۭاḥuk'manwisdomوَأَلْحِقْنِىwa-alḥiq'nīand join meبِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَbil-ṣāliḥīnawith the righteous
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous

26:83
84
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
وَٱجْعَلwa-ij'ʿalAnd grantلِّىlī[for] meلِسَانَlisānaa mentionصِدْقٍۢṣid'qin(of) honorفِىfīamongٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَl-ākhirīnathe later (generations)
And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations

26:84
85
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
وَٱجْعَلْنِىwa-ij'ʿalnīAnd make meمِنminofوَرَثَةِwarathati(the) inheritorsجَنَّةِjannati(of) Garden(s)ٱلنَّعِيمِl-naʿīmi(of) Delight
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure

26:85
86
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
وَٱغْفِرْwa-igh'firAnd forgiveلِأَبِىٓli-abīmy fatherإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānaisمِنَminaofٱلضَّآلِّينَl-ḍālīnathose astray
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray

26:86
87
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُخْزِنِىtukh'zinīdisgrace meيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey are resurrected
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected

26:87
88
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ
يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayلَاlānotيَنفَعُyanfaʿuwill benefitمَالٌۭmālunwealthوَلَاwalāand notبَنُونَbanūnasons
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
⤳ Link
26:88
89
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ
إِلَّاillāExceptمَنْman(he) whoأَتَىatācomesٱللَّهَl-laha(to) Allahبِقَلْبٍۢbiqalbinwith a heartسَلِيمٍۢsalīminsound
But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart
⤳ Link
26:89
90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
وَأُزْلِفَتِwa-uz'lifatiAnd (will be) brought nearٱلْجَنَّةُl-janatuthe Paradiseلِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīnafor the righteous
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous

26:90
91
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
وَبُرِّزَتِwaburrizatiAnd (will be) made manifestٱلْجَحِيمُl-jaḥīmuthe Hellfireلِلْغَاوِينَlil'ghāwīnato the deviators
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators

26:91
92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be saidلَهُمْlahumto themأَيْنَaynaWhereمَاmā(is) thatكُنتُمْkuntumyou usedتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūna(to) worship
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
⤳ Link
26:92
93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
مِنminBesides AllahدُونِdūniBesides Allahٱللَّهِl-lahiBesides AllahهَلْhalCanيَنصُرُونَكُمْyanṣurūnakumthey help youأَوْaworيَنتَصِرُونَyantaṣirūnahelp themselves
Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves
⤳ Link
26:93
94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟fakub'kibūThen they will be overturnedفِيهَاfīhāinto itهُمْhumtheyوَٱلْغَاوُۥنَwal-ghāwūnaand the deviators
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators

26:94
95
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
وَجُنُودُwajunūduAnd (the) hostsإِبْلِيسَib'līsa(of) Iblisأَجْمَعُونَajmaʿūnaall together
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together

26:95
96
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey (will) sayوَهُمْwahumwhile theyفِيهَاfīhāin itيَخْتَصِمُونَyakhtaṣimūna(are) disputing
They will say while they dispute therein

26:96
97
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
تَٱللَّهِtal-lahiBy Allahإِنinindeedكُنَّاkunnāwe wereلَفِىlafīsurely inضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinerrorمُّبِينٍmubīninclear
By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error

26:97
98
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
إِذْidhWhenنُسَوِّيكُمnusawwīkumwe equated youبِرَبِّbirabbiwith (the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds
⤳ Link
26:98
99
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَضَلَّنَآaḍallanāmisguided usإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْمُجْرِمُونَl-muj'rimūnathe criminals
And no one misguided us except the criminals

26:99
100
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
فَمَاfamāSo (now) notلَنَاlanāwe haveمِنminanyشَـٰفِعِينَshāfiʿīnaintercessors
So now we have no intercessors
⤳ Link
26:100
101
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ
وَلَاwalāAnd notصَدِيقٍṣadīqina friendحَمِيمٍۢḥamīminclose
And not a devoted friend

فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
فَلَوْfalawThen ifأَنَّannathatلَنَاlanāwe hadكَرَّةًۭkarratana returnفَنَكُونَfanakūnathen we could beمِنَminaofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers

103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely is a Signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
The people of Noah denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherنُوحٌnūḥunNuhأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

109
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍ ۖajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِىَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillābutعَلَىٰʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
۞ قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidأَنُؤْمِنُanu'minuShould we believeلَكَlakain youوَٱتَّبَعَكَwa-ittabaʿakawhile followed youٱلْأَرْذَلُونَl-ardhalūnathe lowest
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidوَمَاwamāAnd whatعِلْمِىʿil'mī(do) I knowبِمَاbimāof whatكَانُوا۟kānūthey usedيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūna(to) do
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
إِنْinVerilyحِسَابُهُمْḥisābuhumtheir accountإِلَّاillā(is) butعَلَىٰʿalāuponرَبِّى ۖrabbīmy Lordلَوْlawifتَشْعُرُونَtashʿurūnayou perceive
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive

وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَنَا۠anāI amبِطَارِدِbiṭāridithe one to drive awayٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
And I am not one to drive away the believers

115
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
إِنْinNotأَنَا۠anāI amإِلَّاillābutنَذِيرٌۭnadhīruna warnerمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
I am only a clear warner

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidلَئِنla-inIfلَّمْlamnotتَنتَهِtantahiyou desistيَـٰنُوحُyānūḥuO NuhلَتَكُونَنَّlatakūnannaSurely you will beمِنَminaofٱلْمَرْجُومِينَl-marjūmīnathose who are stoned
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordإِنَّinnaIndeedقَوْمِىqawmīmy peopleكَذَّبُونِkadhabūnihave denied me
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me

26:117
118
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
فَٱفْتَحْfa-if'taḥSo judgeبَيْنِىbaynībetween meوَبَيْنَهُمْwabaynahumand between themفَتْحًۭاfatḥan(with decisive) judgmentوَنَجِّنِىwanajjinīand save meوَمَنwamanand whoمَّعِىَmaʿiya(are) with meمِنَminaofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُfa-anjaynāhuSo We saved himوَمَنwamanand whoمَّعَهُۥmaʿahu(were) with himفِىfīinٱلْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipٱلْمَشْحُونِl-mashḥūniladen
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship

26:119
120
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
ثُمَّthummaThenأَغْرَقْنَاaghraqnāWe drownedبَعْدُbaʿduthereafterٱلْبَاقِينَl-bāqīnathe remaining ones
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely, (is) a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedعَادٌʿādun(the people) of Aadٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
Aad denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherهُودٌhūdunHudأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآwamāAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍ ۖajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِىَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىٰʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةًۭ تَعْبَثُونَ
أَتَبْنُونَatabnūnaDo you constructبِكُلِّbikullion everyرِيعٍrīʿinelevationءَايَةًۭāyatana signتَعْبَثُونَtaʿbathūnaamusing yourselves
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
وَتَتَّخِذُونَwatattakhidhūnaAnd take for yourselvesمَصَانِعَmaṣāniʿastrongholdsلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumthat you mayتَخْلُدُونَtakhludūnalive forever
And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenبَطَشْتُمbaṭashtumyou seizeبَطَشْتُمْbaṭashtumyou seizeجَبَّارِينَjabbārīna(as) tyrants
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fearٱلَّذِىٓalladhīthe One Whoأَمَدَّكُمamaddakumhas aided youبِمَاbimāwith whatتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou know
And fear He who provided you with that which you know

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍۢ وَبَنِينَ
أَمَدَّكُمamaddakumHe has aided youبِأَنْعَـٰمٍۢbi-anʿāminwith cattleوَبَنِينَwabanīnaand children
Provided you with grazing livestock and children

134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ
وَجَنَّـٰتٍۢwajannātinAnd gardensوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūninand springs
And gardens and springs

26:134
135
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
إِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍۢʿaẓīminGreat
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day

قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidسَوَآءٌsawāon(It is) sameعَلَيْنَآʿalaynāto usأَوَعَظْتَawaʿaẓtawhether you adviseأَمْamorلَمْlamnotتَكُنtakunyou areمِّنَminaofٱلْوَٰعِظِينَl-wāʿiẓīnathe advisors
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors

26:136
137
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
إِنْinNotهَـٰذَآhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutخُلُقُkhuluqu(the) customٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
This is not but the custom of the former peoples

26:137
138
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notنَحْنُnaḥnuweبِمُعَذَّبِينَbimuʿadhabīna(are) the ones to be punished
And we are not to be punished

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhuSo they denied himفَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗfa-ahlaknāhumthen We destroyed themإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely, is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedثَمُودُthamūduThamudٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
Thamud denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherصَـٰلِحٌṣāliḥunSalihأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍ ۖajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِىَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىٰʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
أَتُتْرَكُونَatut'rakūnaWill you be leftفِىfīinمَاmāwhatهَـٰهُنَآhāhunā(is) hereءَامِنِينَāminīnasecure
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]

فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
فِىfīInجَنَّـٰتٍۢjannātingardensوَعُيُونٍۢwaʿuyūninand springs
Within gardens and springs
⤳ Link
26:147
148
وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَنَخْلٍۢ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌۭ
وَزُرُوعٍۢwazurūʿinAnd cornfieldsوَنَخْلٍۢwanakhlinand date-palmsطَلْعُهَاṭalʿuhāits spadixهَضِيمٌۭhaḍīmunsoft
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit

26:148
149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَـٰرِهِينَ
وَتَنْحِتُونَwatanḥitūnaAnd you carveمِنَminaofٱلْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountainsبُيُوتًۭاbuyūtanhousesفَـٰرِهِينَfārihīnaskillfully
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill

26:149
150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُطِيعُوٓا۟tuṭīʿūobeyأَمْرَamra(the) commandٱلْمُسْرِفِينَl-mus'rifīna(of) the transgressors
And do not obey the order of the transgressors

ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُفْسِدُونَyuf'sidūnaspread corruptionفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَاwalāand (do) notيُصْلِحُونَyuṣ'liḥūnareform
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidإِنَّمَآinnamāOnlyأَنتَantayouمِنَmina(are) ofٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَl-musaḥarīnathose bewitched
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic

26:153
154
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
مَآmāNotأَنتَantayouإِلَّاillā(are) exceptبَشَرٌۭbasharuna manمِّثْلُنَاmith'lunālike usفَأْتِfatiso bringبِـَٔايَةٍbiāyatina signإِنinifكُنتَkuntayouمِنَmina(are) ofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful

قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌۭ لَّهَا شِرْبٌۭ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
قَالَqālaHe saidهَـٰذِهِۦhādhihiThisنَاقَةٌۭnāqatun(is) a she-camelلَّهَاlahāFor herشِرْبٌۭshir'bun(is a share of) drinkوَلَكُمْwalakumand for youشِرْبُshir'bu(is a share of) drinkيَوْمٍۢyawmin(on) a dayمَّعْلُومٍۢmaʿlūminknown
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَمَسُّوهَاtamassūhātouch herبِسُوٓءٍۢbisūinwith harmفَيَأْخُذَكُمْfayakhudhakumlest seize youعَذَابُʿadhābu(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍۢʿaẓīminGreat
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
فَعَقَرُوهَاfaʿaqarūhāBut they hamstrung herفَأَصْبَحُوا۟fa-aṣbaḥūthen they becameنَـٰدِمِينَnādimīnaregretful
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful

فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
فَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuSo seized themٱلْعَذَابُ ۗl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentإِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

159
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleلُوطٍlūṭin(of) Lutٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
The people of Lot denied the messengers

161
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherلُوطٌlūṭunLutأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

26:163
164
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍ ۖajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِىَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىٰʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

165
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
أَتَأْتُونَatatūnaDo you approachٱلذُّكْرَانَl-dhuk'rānathe malesمِنَminaamongٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīnathe worlds
Do you approach males among the worlds

26:165
166
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
وَتَذَرُونَwatadharūnaAnd you leaveمَاmāwhatخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedلَكُمْlakumfor youرَبُّكُمrabbukumyour Lordمِّنْminofأَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚazwājikumyour matesبَلْbalNayأَنتُمْantumyouقَوْمٌqawmun(are) a peopleعَادُونَʿādūnatransgressing
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing

26:166
167
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
قَالُوا۟qālūThey saidلَئِنla-inIfلَّمْlamnotتَنتَهِtantahiyou desistيَـٰلُوطُyālūṭuO LutلَتَكُونَنَّlatakūnannaSurely, you will beمِنَminaofٱلْمُخْرَجِينَl-mukh'rajīnathe ones driven out
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted

26:167
168
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
قَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلِعَمَلِكُمliʿamalikum(of) your deedمِّنَminaofٱلْقَالِينَl-qālīnathose who detest
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]

26:168
169
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
رَبِّrabbiMy LordنَجِّنِىnajjinīSave meوَأَهْلِىwa-ahlīand my familyمِمَّاmimmāfrom whatيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnathey do
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do

26:169
170
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُfanajjaynāhuSo We saved himوَأَهْلَهُۥٓwa-ahlahuand his familyأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
So We saved him and his family, all
⤳ Link
26:170
171
إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
إِلَّاillāExceptعَجُوزًۭاʿajūzanan old womanفِىfī(was) amongٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَl-ghābirīnathose who remained behind
Except an old woman among those who remained behind

26:171
172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
ثُمَّthummaThenدَمَّرْنَاdammarnāWe destroyedٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
Then We destroyed the others
⤳ Link
26:172
173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
وَأَمْطَرْنَاwa-amṭarnāAnd We rainedعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon themمَّطَرًۭا ۖmaṭarana rainفَسَآءَfasāaand evil wasمَطَرُmaṭaru(was) the rainٱلْمُنذَرِينَl-mundharīna(on) those who were warned
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned

174
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

175
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

176
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَkadhabaDeniedأَصْحَـٰبُaṣḥābu(the) companionsلْـَٔيْكَةِal'aykati(of the) Woodٱلْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers

26:176
177
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themشُعَيْبٌshuʿaybunShuaibأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

26:177
178
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
إِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌۭamīnuntrustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

179
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
So fear Allah and obey me

26:179
180
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَسْـَٔلُكُمْasalukumI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍ ۖajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِىَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىٰʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
۞ أَوْفُوا۟awfūGive fullٱلْكَيْلَl-kaylameasureوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَكُونُوا۟takūnūbeمِنَminaofٱلْمُخْسِرِينَl-mukh'sirīnathose who cause loss
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss

26:181
182
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
وَزِنُوا۟wazinūAnd weighبِٱلْقِسْطَاسِbil-qis'ṭāsiwith a balanceٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِl-mus'taqīmi[the] even
And weigh with an even balance

26:182
183
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَبْخَسُوا۟tabkhasūdepriveٱلنَّاسَl-nāsapeopleأَشْيَآءَهُمْashyāahum(of) their thingsوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَعْثَوْا۟taʿthawcommit evilفِىfīinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمُفْسِدِينَmuf'sidīnaspreading corruption
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption

184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟wa-ittaqūAnd fearٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youوَٱلْجِبِلَّةَwal-jibilataand the generationsٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīnathe former
And fear He who created you and the former creation

26:184
185
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidإِنَّمَآinnamāOnlyأَنتَantayouمِنَmina(are) ofٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَl-musaḥarīnathose bewitched
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
⤳ Link
26:185
186
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَنتَantayouإِلَّاillā(are) exceptبَشَرٌۭbasharuna manمِّثْلُنَاmith'lunālike usوَإِنwa-inand indeedنَّظُنُّكَnaẓunnukawe think youلَمِنَlaminasurely (are) ofٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars

26:186
187
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
فَأَسْقِطْfa-asqiṭThen cause to fallعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāupon usكِسَفًۭاkisafanfragmentsمِّنَminaofٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful

26:187
188
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّىٓrabbīMy Lordأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknows bestبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do

26:188
189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhuBut they denied himفَأَخَذَهُمْfa-akhadhahumso seized themعَذَابُʿadhābu(the) punishmentيَوْمِyawmi(of the) dayٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚl-ẓulati(of) the shadowإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, itكَانَkānawasعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīminGreat
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedفِىfīinذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖlaāyatansurely, is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمaktharuhummost of themمُّؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers

26:190
191
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely, Heٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

26:191
192
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, itلَتَنزِيلُlatanzīlusurely, is a Revelationرَبِّrabbi(of the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds

نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
نَزَلَnazalaHas brought it downبِهِbihiHas brought it downٱلرُّوحُl-rūḥuthe Spiritٱلْأَمِينُl-amīnu[the] Trustworthy
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down

194
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
عَلَىٰʿalāUponقَلْبِكَqalbikayour heartلِتَكُونَlitakūnathat you may beمِنَminaofٱلْمُنذِرِينَl-mundhirīnathe warners
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
بِلِسَانٍbilisāninIn languageعَرَبِىٍّۢʿarabiyyinArabicمُّبِينٍۢmubīninclear
In a clear Arabic language
⤳ Link
26:195
196
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, itلَفِىlafīsurely, (is) inزُبُرِzuburi(the) Scripturesٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
أَوَلَمْawalamIs it notيَكُنyakunIs it notلَّهُمْlahumto themءَايَةًāyatana signأَنanthatيَعْلَمَهُۥyaʿlamahuknow itعُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ʿulamāu(the) scholarsبَنِىٓbanī(of the) Childrenإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīla(of) Israel
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel

26:197
198
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifنَزَّلْنَـٰهُnazzalnāhuWe (had) revealed itعَلَىٰʿalātoبَعْضِbaʿḍianyٱلْأَعْجَمِينَl-aʿjamīna(of) the non-Arabs
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
⤳ Link
26:198
199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
فَقَرَأَهُۥfaqara-ahuAnd he (had) recited itعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimto themمَّاmānotكَانُوا۟kānūthey wouldبِهِۦbihiin itمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīna(be) believers
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it

26:199
200
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
كَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusسَلَكْنَـٰهُsalaknāhuWe have inserted itفِىfīintoقُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals

26:200
201
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
لَاlāNotيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey will believeبِهِۦbihiin itحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilيَرَوُا۟yarawūthey seeٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentٱلْأَلِيمَl-alīma[the] painful
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment

26:201
202
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
فَيَأْتِيَهُمfayatiyahumAnd it will come to themبَغْتَةًۭbaghtatansuddenlyوَهُمْwahumwhile theyلَاlā(do) notيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
⤳ Link
26:202
203
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
فَيَقُولُوا۟fayaqūlūThen they will sayهَلْhalAreنَحْنُnaḥnuweمُنظَرُونَmunẓarūna(to be) reprieved
And they will say, "May we be reprieved

26:203
204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَاafabiʿadhābināSo is it for Our punishmentيَسْتَعْجِلُونَyastaʿjilūnathey wish to hasten
So for Our punishment are they impatient

26:204
205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaThen have you seenإِنinifمَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْmattaʿnāhumWe let them enjoyسِنِينَsinīna(for) years
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
⤳ Link
26:205
206
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
ثُمَّthummaThenجَآءَهُمjāahumcomes to themمَّاmāwhatكَانُوا۟kānūthey wereيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnapromised
And then there came to them that which they were promised
⤳ Link
26:206
207
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
مَآmāNotأَغْنَىٰaghnā(will) availعَنْهُمʿanhumthemمَّاmāwhatكَانُوا۟kānūenjoyment they were givenيُمَتَّعُونَyumattaʿūnaenjoyment they were given
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided

26:207
208
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
وَمَآwamāAnd notأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedمِنminanyقَرْيَةٍqaryatintownإِلَّاillābutلَهَاlahāit hadمُنذِرُونَmundhirūnawarners
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners

26:208
209
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ذِكْرَىٰdhik'rā(To) remindوَمَاwamāand notكُنَّاkunnāWe areظَـٰلِمِينَẓālimīnaunjust
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust

26:209
210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
وَمَاwamāAnd notتَنَزَّلَتْtanazzalathave brought it downبِهِbihihave brought it downٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُl-shayāṭīnuthe devils
And the devils have not brought the revelation down
⤳ Link
26:210
211
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notيَنۢبَغِىyanbaghī(it) suitsلَهُمْlahum[for] themوَمَاwamāand notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyعَنِʿanifromٱلسَّمْعِl-samʿithe hearingلَمَعْزُولُونَlamaʿzūlūna(are) surely banished
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed

26:212
213
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَدْعُtadʿuinvokeمَعَmaʿawithٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِلَـٰهًاilāhangodءَاخَرَākharaanotherفَتَكُونَfatakūnalest you beمِنَminaofٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَl-muʿadhabīnathose punished
So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished

26:213
214
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
وَأَنذِرْwa-andhirAnd warnعَشِيرَتَكَʿashīratakayour kindredٱلْأَقْرَبِينَl-aqrabīna[the] closest
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred

26:214
215
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَٱخْفِضْwa-ikh'fiḍAnd lowerجَنَاحَكَjanāḥakayour wingلِمَنِlimanito (those) whoٱتَّبَعَكَittabaʿakafollow youمِنَminaofٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers

فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
فَإِنْfa-inThen ifعَصَوْكَʿaṣawkathey disobey youفَقُلْfaqulthen sayإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amبَرِىٓءٌۭbarīoninnocentمِّمَّاmimmāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing

217
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkalAnd put (your) trustعَلَىʿalāinٱلْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyٱلرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmithe Most Merciful
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThe One Whoيَرَىٰكَyarākasees youحِينَḥīnawhenتَقُومُtaqūmuyou stand up
Who sees you when you arise

26:218
219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
وَتَقَلُّبَكَwataqallubakaAnd your movementsفِىfīamongٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَl-sājidīnathose who prostrate
And your movement among those who prostrate

26:219
220
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heهُوَhuwa[He]ٱلسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing

هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
هَلْhalShallأُنَبِّئُكُمْunabbi-ukumI inform youعَلَىٰʿalāuponمَنmanwhomتَنَزَّلُtanazzaludescendٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُl-shayāṭīnuthe devils
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend

26:221

تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ
تَنَزَّلُtanazzaluThey descendعَلَىٰʿalāuponكُلِّkullieveryأَفَّاكٍaffākinliarأَثِيمٍۢathīminsinful
They descend upon every sinful liar

26:222

يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
يُلْقُونَyul'qūnaThey pass onٱلسَّمْعَl-samʿa(what is) heardوَأَكْثَرُهُمْwa-aktharuhumand most of themكَـٰذِبُونَkādhibūna(are) liars
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars

26:223

وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُwal-shuʿarāuAnd the poets يَتَّبِعُهُمُyattabiʿuhumufollow themٱلْغَاوُۥنَl-ghāwūnathe deviators
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them

225
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍۢ يَهِيمُونَ
أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyفِىfīinكُلِّkullieveryوَادٍۢwādinvalleyيَهِيمُونَyahīmūna[they] roam
Do you not see that in every valley they roam

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
وَأَنَّهُمْwa-annahumAnd that theyيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayمَاmāwhatلَاlānotيَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnathey do
And that they say what they do not do

26:226
227
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ
إِلَّاillāExceptٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand doٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsوَذَكَرُوا۟wadhakarūand rememberٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًۭاkathīranmuchوَٱنتَصَرُوا۟wa-intaṣarūand defend themselvesمِنۢminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاmāafterظُلِمُوا۟ ۗẓulimūthey were wrongedوَسَيَعْلَمُwasayaʿlamuAnd will come to knowٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُوٓا۟ẓalamūhave wrongedأَىَّayya(to) whatمُنقَلَبٍۢmunqalabinreturnيَنقَلِبُونَyanqalibūnathey will return
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned
