Qur’an 76:9 Al-Insan, verse 9
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا
[Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.
Translation: Saheeh International. Brackets mark words added for clarity.

- 76:7يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭاThey [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.
- 76:8وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًاAnd they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
- 76:10إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًۭا قَمْطَرِيرًۭاIndeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful."
- 76:11فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةًۭ وَسُرُورًۭاSo Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness
