بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
كٓهيعٓصٓ
كٓهيعٓصٓkaf-ha-ya-ain-sadKaaf Ha Ya Ain Sad
Kaf, Ha, Ya, 'Ayn, Sad
⤳ Link 19:1
2
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ
ذِكْرُdhik'ru(A) mentionرَحْمَتِraḥmati(of the) Mercyرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordعَبْدَهُۥʿabdahu(to) His servantزَكَرِيَّآzakariyyāZakariya
[This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah

3
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّۭا
إِذْidhWhenنَادَىٰnādāhe calledرَبَّهُۥrabbahu(to) his Lordنِدَآءًnidāana call خَفِيًّۭاkhafiyyansecret
When he called to his Lord a private supplication
⤳ Link 19:3
4
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًۭا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordإِنِّىinnīIndeed, [I]وَهَنَwahana(have) weakenedٱلْعَظْمُl-ʿaẓmumy bonesمِنِّىminnīmy bonesوَٱشْتَعَلَwa-ish'taʿalaand flaredٱلرَّأْسُl-rasu(my) headشَيْبًۭاshayban(with) whiteوَلَمْwalamand notأَكُنۢakunI have beenبِدُعَآئِكَbiduʿāikain (my) supplication (to) Youرَبِّrabbimy Lordشَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy
⤳ Link 19:4
5
وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّۭا
وَإِنِّىwa-innīAnd indeed, Iخِفْتُkhif'tu[I] fearٱلْمَوَٰلِىَl-mawāliyathe successorsمِنminafter meوَرَآءِىwarāīafter meوَكَانَتِwakānatiand isٱمْرَأَتِىim'ra-atīmy wifeعَاقِرًۭاʿāqiranbarrenفَهَبْfahabSo giveلِى[to] meمِنminfromلَّدُنكَladunkaYourselfوَلِيًّۭاwaliyyanan heir
And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir

6
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّۭا
يَرِثُنِىyarithunīWho will inherit meوَيَرِثُwayarithuand inheritمِنْminfromءَالِāli(the) familyيَعْقُوبَ ۖyaʿqūba(of) Yaqubوَٱجْعَلْهُwa-ij'ʿalhuAnd make himرَبِّrabbimy Lordرَضِيًّۭاraḍiyyanpleasing
Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]

7
يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّۭا
يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآyāzakariyyāO ZakariyaإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weنُبَشِّرُكَnubashiruka[We] give you glad tidingsبِغُلَـٰمٍbighulāminof a boyٱسْمُهُۥus'muhuhis nameيَحْيَىٰyaḥyā(will be) YahyaلَمْlamnotنَجْعَلnajʿalWe (have) assignedلَّهُۥlahu[for] itمِنminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeسَمِيًّۭاsamiyyan(this) name
[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name

8
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌۭ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordأَنَّىٰannāHowيَكُونُyakūnucanلِىI haveغُلَـٰمٌۭghulāmuna boyوَكَانَتِwakānatiwhile isٱمْرَأَتِىim'ra-atīmy wifeعَاقِرًۭاʿāqiranbarrenوَقَدْwaqadand indeedبَلَغْتُbalaghtuI have reachedمِنَminaofٱلْكِبَرِl-kibarithe old ageعِتِيًّۭاʿitiyyanextreme
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age
⤳ Link 19:8
9
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا
قَالَqālaHe saidكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikaThusقَالَqālasaidرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordهُوَhuwa'Itعَلَىَّʿalayya(is) easy for Meهَيِّنٌۭhayyinun(is) easy for Meوَقَدْwaqadand certainlyخَلَقْتُكَkhalaqtukaI (have) created youمِنminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلَمْwalamwhile notتَكُtakuyou wereشَيْـًۭٔاshayananything.'
[An angel] said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, for I created you before, while you were nothing

10
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ ۚ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَ لَيَالٍۢ سَوِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lordٱجْعَلij'ʿalMakeلِّىٓfor meءَايَةًۭ ۚāyatana signقَالَqālaHe saidءَايَتُكَāyatukaYour signأَلَّاallā(is) that notتُكَلِّمَtukallimayou will speakٱلنَّاسَl-nāsa(to) the peopleثَلَـٰثَthalātha(for) threeلَيَالٍۢlayālinnightsسَوِيًّۭاsawiyyansound
[Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound

11
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا
فَخَرَجَfakharajaThen he came outعَلَىٰʿalātoقَوْمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleمِنَminafromٱلْمِحْرَابِl-miḥ'rābithe prayer chamberفَأَوْحَىٰٓfa-awḥāand he signaledإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themأَنantoسَبِّحُوا۟sabbiḥūglorify (Allah)بُكْرَةًۭbuk'ratan(in) the morningوَعَشِيًّۭاwaʿashiyyanand (in) the evening
So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allah] in the morning and afternoon

12
يَـٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍۢ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّۭا
يَـٰيَحْيَىٰyāyaḥyāO YahyaخُذِkhudhiHoldٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Scriptureبِقُوَّةٍۢ ۖbiquwwatinwith strengthوَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave himٱلْحُكْمَl-ḥuk'ma[the] wisdomصَبِيًّۭاṣabiyyan(when he was) a child
[Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy
⤳ Link 19:12
13
وَحَنَانًۭا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةًۭ ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّۭا
وَحَنَانًۭاwaḥanānanAnd affectionمِّنminfromلَّدُنَّاladunnāUsوَزَكَوٰةًۭ ۖwazakatanand purityوَكَانَwakānaand he wasتَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanrighteous
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Allah
⤳ Link 19:13
14
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّۭا
وَبَرًّۢاwabarranAnd dutifulبِوَٰلِدَيْهِbiwālidayhito his parentsوَلَمْwalamand notيَكُنyakunhe wasجَبَّارًاjabbārana tyrantعَصِيًّۭاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
And dutiful to his parents, and he was not a disobedient tyrant
⤳ Link 19:14
15
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا
وَسَلَـٰمٌwasalāmunAnd peace beعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon himيَوْمَyawma(the) dayوُلِدَwulidahe was bornوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayيَمُوتُyamūtuhe diesوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayيُبْعَثُyub'ʿathuhe will be raisedحَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he is raised alive
⤳ Link 19:15
16
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًۭا شَرْقِيًّۭا
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِىinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe BookمَرْيَمَmaryamaMaryamإِذِidhiwhenٱنتَبَذَتْintabadhatshe withdrewمِنْminfromأَهْلِهَاahlihāher familyمَكَانًۭاmakānan(to) a placeشَرْقِيًّۭاsharqiyyaneastern
And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east
⤳ Link 19:16
17
فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًۭا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًۭا سَوِيًّۭا
فَٱتَّخَذَتْfa-ittakhadhatThen she tookمِنminfrom themدُونِهِمْdūnihimfrom themحِجَابًۭاḥijābana screenفَأَرْسَلْنَآfa-arsalnāThen We sentإِلَيْهَاilayhāto herرُوحَنَاrūḥanāOur Spiritفَتَمَثَّلَfatamathalathen he assumed for her the likenessلَهَاlahāthen he assumed for her the likenessبَشَرًۭاbasharan(of) a manسَوِيًّۭاsawiyyanwell-proportioned
And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man
⤳ Link 19:17
18
قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّۭا
قَالَتْqālatShe saidإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَعُوذُaʿūdhu[I] seek refugeبِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِbil-raḥmāniwith the Most Graciousمِنكَminkafrom youإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areتَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanGod fearing
She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah
⤳ Link 19:18
19
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمًۭا زَكِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّمَآinnamāOnlyأَنَا۠anāI amرَسُولُrasūlua Messengerرَبِّكِrabbiki(from) your Lordلِأَهَبَli-ahabathat I (may) bestowلَكِlakion youغُلَـٰمًۭاghulāmana sonزَكِيًّۭاzakiyyanpure
He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy

20
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا
قَالَتْqālatShe saidأَنَّىٰannāHowيَكُونُyakūnucan beلِىfor meغُلَـٰمٌۭghulāmuna sonوَلَمْwalamwhen notيَمْسَسْنِىyamsasnīhas touched meبَشَرٌۭbasharuna manوَلَمْwalamand notأَكُakuI amبَغِيًّۭاbaghiyyanunchaste
She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste

21
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidكَذَٰلِكِkadhālikiThusقَالَqālasaidرَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lordهُوَhuwa'Itعَلَىَّʿalayya(is) for Meهَيِّنٌۭ ۖhayyinuneasyوَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓwalinajʿalahuand so that We will make himءَايَةًۭāyatana signلِّلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor the mankindوَرَحْمَةًۭwaraḥmatanand a Mercyمِّنَّا ۚminnāfrom UsوَكَانَwakānaAnd (it) isأَمْرًۭاamrana matterمَّقْضِيًّۭاmaqḍiyyandecreed.'
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed
⤳ Link 19:21
22
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًۭا قَصِيًّۭا
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُfaḥamalathuSo she conceived himفَٱنتَبَذَتْfa-intabadhatand she withdrewبِهِۦbihiwith himمَكَانًۭاmakānan(to) a placeقَصِيًّۭاqaṣiyyanremote
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place

23
فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَـٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًۭا مَّنسِيًّۭا
فَأَجَآءَهَاfa-ajāahāThen drove herٱلْمَخَاضُl-makhāḍuthe pains of childbirthإِلَىٰilātoجِذْعِjidh'ʿi(the) trunkٱلنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palmقَالَتْqālatShe saidيَـٰلَيْتَنِىyālaytanīO! I wishمِتُّmittuI (had) diedقَبْلَqablabeforeهَـٰذَاhādhāthisوَكُنتُwakuntuand I wasنَسْيًۭاnasyan(in) oblivionمَّنسِيًّۭاmansiyyanforgotten
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten

24
فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّۭا
فَنَادَىٰهَاfanādāhāSo cried to herمِنminfromتَحْتِهَآtaḥtihābeneath herأَلَّاallāThat (do) notتَحْزَنِىtaḥzanīgrieveقَدْqadverilyجَعَلَjaʿala(has) placedرَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lordتَحْتَكِtaḥtakibeneath youسَرِيًّۭاsariyyana stream
But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream
⤳ Link 19:24
25
وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًۭا جَنِيًّۭا
وَهُزِّىٓwahuzzīAnd shakeإِلَيْكِilaykitowards youبِجِذْعِbijidh'ʿi(the) trunkٱلنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palmتُسَـٰقِطْtusāqiṭit will dropعَلَيْكِʿalaykiupon youرُطَبًۭاruṭabanfresh datesجَنِيًّۭاjaniyyanripe
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates
⤳ Link 19:25
26
فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًۭا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًۭا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ صَوْمًۭا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّۭا
فَكُلِىfakulīSo eatوَٱشْرَبِىwa-ish'rabīand drinkوَقَرِّىwaqarrīand coolعَيْنًۭا ۖʿaynan(your) eyesفَإِمَّاfa-immāAnd ifتَرَيِنَّtarayinnayou seeمِنَminafromٱلْبَشَرِl-basharihuman beingأَحَدًۭاaḥadananyoneفَقُولِىٓfaqūlīthen sayإِنِّىinnīIndeed, Iنَذَرْتُnadhartu[I] have vowedلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousصَوْمًۭاṣawmana fastفَلَنْfalanso notأُكَلِّمَukallimaI will speakٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayإِنسِيًّۭاinsiyyan(to any) human being
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man

27
فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًۭٔا فَرِيًّۭا
فَأَتَتْfa-atatThen she cameبِهِۦbihiwith himقَوْمَهَاqawmahā(to) her peopleتَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖtaḥmiluhucarrying himقَالُوا۟qālūThey saidيَـٰمَرْيَمُyāmaryamuO MaryamلَقَدْlaqadCertainlyجِئْتِji'tiyou (have) broughtشَيْـًۭٔاshayanan amazing thingفَرِيًّۭاfariyyanan amazing thing
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented

28
يَـٰٓأُخْتَ هَـٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍۢ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّۭا
يَـٰٓأُخْتَyāukh'taO sisterهَـٰرُونَhārūna(of) HarunمَاNotكَانَkānawasأَبُوكِabūkiyour fatherٱمْرَأَim'ra-aan evil manسَوْءٍۢsawinan evil manوَمَاwamāand notكَانَتْkānatwasأُمُّكِummukiyour motherبَغِيًّۭاbaghiyyanunchaste
O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste
⤳ Link 19:28
29
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّۭا
فَأَشَارَتْfa-ashāratThen she pointedإِلَيْهِ ۖilayhito himقَالُوا۟qālūThey saidكَيْفَkayfaHowنُكَلِّمُnukallimu(can) we speakمَنman(to one) whoكَانَkānaisفِىinٱلْمَهْدِl-mahdithe cradleصَبِيًّۭاṣabiyyana child
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child
⤳ Link 19:29
30
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amعَبْدُʿabdua slaveٱللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahءَاتَىٰنِىَātāniyaHe gave meٱلْكِتَـٰبَl-kitābathe Scriptureوَجَعَلَنِىwajaʿalanīand made meنَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet
⤳ Link 19:30
31
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّۭا
وَجَعَلَنِىwajaʿalanīAnd He (has) made meمُبَارَكًاmubārakanblessedأَيْنَaynawhereverمَاwhereverكُنتُkuntuI amوَأَوْصَـٰنِىwa-awṣānīand has enjoined (on) meبِٱلصَّلَوٰةِbil-ṣalati[of] the prayerوَٱلزَّكَوٰةِwal-zakatiand zakahمَاas long as I amدُمْتُdum'tuas long as I amحَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive
⤳ Link 19:31
32
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًۭا شَقِيًّۭا
وَبَرًّۢاwabarranAnd dutifulبِوَٰلِدَتِىbiwālidatīto my motherوَلَمْwalamand notيَجْعَلْنِىyajʿalnīHe (has) made meجَبَّارًۭاjabbāraninsolentشَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant
⤳ Link 19:32
33
وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا
وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُwal-salāmuAnd peace (be)عَلَىَّʿalayyaon meيَوْمَyawma(the) dayوُلِدتُّwulidttuI was bornوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayأَمُوتُamūtuI will dieوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) Dayأُبْعَثُub'ʿathuI will be raisedحَيًّۭاḥayyanalive
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive
⤳ Link 19:33
34
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThatعِيسَىʿīsā(was) Isaٱبْنُub'nu(the) sonمَرْيَمَ ۚmaryama(of) Maryamقَوْلَqawlaa statementٱلْحَقِّl-ḥaqi(of) truthٱلَّذِىalladhīthat whichفِيهِfīhiabout itيَمْتَرُونَyamtarūnathey dispute
That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute
⤳ Link 19:34
35
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍۢ ۖ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
مَاNotكَانَkāna(it) isلِلَّهِlillahifor AllahأَنanthatيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should takeمِنminany sonوَلَدٍۢ ۖwaladinany sonسُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ ۚsub'ḥānahuGlory be to HimإِذَاidhāWhenقَضَىٰٓqaḍāHe decreesأَمْرًۭاamrana matterفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيَقُولُyaqūluHe saysلَهُۥlahuto itكُنkunBeفَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is
⤳ Link 19:35
36
وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ
وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahرَبِّىrabbī(is) my Lordوَرَبُّكُمْwarabbukumand your Lordفَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚfa-uʿ'budūhuso worship HimهَـٰذَاhādhāThisصِرَٰطٌۭṣirāṭun(is) a pathمُّسْتَقِيمٌۭmus'taqīmunstraight
[Jesus said], "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path
⤳ Link 19:36
37
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
فَٱخْتَلَفَfa-ikh'talafaBut differedٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe sectsمِنۢminfrom among themبَيْنِهِمْ ۖbaynihimfrom among themفَوَيْلٌۭfawaylunso woeلِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelieveمِنminfromمَّشْهَدِmashhadi(the) witnessingيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Dayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīmingreat
Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day
⤳ Link 19:37
38
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَـٰكِنِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
أَسْمِعْasmiʿHow they will hearبِهِمْbihimHow they will hearوَأَبْصِرْwa-abṣirand how (they will) seeيَوْمَyawma(the) Dayيَأْتُونَنَا ۖyatūnanāthey will come to Usلَـٰكِنِlākinibutٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoersٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayفِى(are) inضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinerrorمُّبِينٍۢmubīninclear
How [clearly] they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in clear error
⤳ Link 19:38
39
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَأَنذِرْهُمْwa-andhir'humAnd warn themيَوْمَyawma(of the) Dayٱلْحَسْرَةِl-ḥasrati(of) the Regretإِذْidhwhenقُضِىَquḍiyahas been decidedٱلْأَمْرُl-amruthe matterوَهُمْwahumAnd theyفِى(are) inغَفْلَةٍۢghaflatinheedlessnessوَهُمْwahumand theyلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe
⤳ Link 19:39
40
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weنَحْنُnaḥnu[We]نَرِثُnarithu[We] will inheritٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthوَمَنْwamanand whoeverعَلَيْهَاʿalayhā(is) on itوَإِلَيْنَاwa-ilaynāand to Usيُرْجَعُونَyur'jaʿūnathey will be returned
Indeed, it is We who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned
⤳ Link 19:40
41
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّا
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِىinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚib'rāhīmaIbrahimإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānawasصِدِّيقًۭاṣiddīqana man of truthنَّبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet
⤳ Link 19:41
42
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًۭٔا
إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālahe saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherيَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my fatherلِمَlimaWhyتَعْبُدُtaʿbudu(do) you worshipمَاthat whichلَاnotيَسْمَعُyasmaʿuhearsوَلَاwalāand notيُبْصِرُyub'ṣiruseesوَلَاwalāand notيُغْنِىyugh'nībenefitsعَنكَʿanka[to] youشَيْـًۭٔاshayan(in) anything
[Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all
⤳ Link 19:42
43
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًۭا سَوِيًّۭا
يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my fatherإِنِّىinnīIndeed, [I]قَدْqadverilyجَآءَنِىjāanī(has) come to meمِنَminaofٱلْعِلْمِl-ʿil'mithe knowledgeمَاwhatلَمْlamnotيَأْتِكَyatikacame to youفَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓfa-ittabiʿ'nīso follow meأَهْدِكَahdikaI will guide youصِرَٰطًۭاṣirāṭan(to) the pathسَوِيًّۭاsawiyyaneven
O my father, indeed there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to an even path
⤳ Link 19:43
44
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَصِيًّۭا
يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my fatherلَا(Do) notتَعْبُدِtaʿbudiworshipٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖl-shayṭānathe ShaitaanإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَl-shayṭānathe Shaitaanكَانَkānaisلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousعَصِيًّۭاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient
⤳ Link 19:44
45
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيًّۭا
يَـٰٓأَبَتِyāabatiO my fatherإِنِّىٓinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearأَنanthatيَمَسَّكَyamassakawill touch youعَذَابٌۭʿadhābuna punishmentمِّنَminafromٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousفَتَكُونَfatakūnaso you would beلِلشَّيْطَـٰنِlilshayṭānito the Shaitaanوَلِيًّۭاwaliyyana friend
O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]
⤳ Link 19:45
46
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidأَرَاغِبٌarāghibunDo you hateأَنتَantaDo you hateعَنْʿan(from)ءَالِهَتِىālihatīmy godsيَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖyāib'rāhīmuO Ibrahimلَئِنla-inSurely, ifلَّمْlamnotتَنتَهِtantahiyou desistلَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖla-arjumannakasurely, I will stone youوَٱهْجُرْنِىwa-uh'jur'nīso leave meمَلِيًّۭاmaliyyan(for) a prolonged time
[His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time
⤳ Link 19:46
47
قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّۭا
قَالَqālaHe saidسَلَـٰمٌsalāmunPeace (be)عَلَيْكَ ۖʿalaykaon youسَأَسْتَغْفِرُsa-astaghfiruI will ask forgivenessلَكَlakafor youرَبِّىٓ ۖrabbī(from) my LordإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, Heكَانَkānaisبِىto meحَفِيًّۭاḥafiyyanEver Gracious
[Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me
⤳ Link 19:47
48
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّۭا
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْwa-aʿtazilukumAnd I will leave youوَمَاwamāand whatتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou invokeمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَأَدْعُوا۟wa-adʿūand I will invokeرَبِّىrabbīmy LordعَسَىٰٓʿasāMay beأَلَّآallāthat notأَكُونَakūnaI will beبِدُعَآءِbiduʿāiin invocationرَبِّىrabbī(to) my Lordشَقِيًّۭاshaqiyyanunblessed
And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy
⤳ Link 19:48
49
فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّۭا
فَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenٱعْتَزَلَهُمْiʿ'tazalahumhe left themوَمَاwamāand whatيَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūnathey worshippedمِنminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahٱللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahوَهَبْنَاwahabnā[and] We bestowedلَهُۥٓlahu[to] himإِسْحَـٰقَis'ḥāqaIsaacوَيَعْقُوبَ ۖwayaʿqūbaand Yaqubوَكُلًّۭاwakullanand each (of them)جَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe madeنَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet
⤳ Link 19:49
50
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّۭا
وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowedلَهُمlahumto themمِّنminofرَّحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur Mercyوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeلَهُمْlahumfor themلِسَانَlisānaa truthful mentionصِدْقٍṣid'qina truthful mentionعَلِيًّۭاʿaliyyanhigh
And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor
⤳ Link 19:50
51
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًۭا وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِىinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookمُوسَىٰٓ ۚmūsāMusaإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānawasمُخْلَصًۭاmukh'laṣanchosenوَكَانَwakānaand wasرَسُولًۭاrasūlana Messengerنَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger and a prophet
⤳ Link 19:51
52
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُ نَجِيًّۭا
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُwanādaynāhuAnd We called himمِنminfromجَانِبِjānibi(the) sideٱلطُّورِl-ṭūri(of) the Mountٱلْأَيْمَنِl-aymanithe rightوَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُwaqarrabnāhuand brought him nearنَجِيًّۭاnajiyyan(for) conversation
And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him]
⤳ Link 19:52
53
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ نَبِيًّۭا
وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowedلَهُۥlahu[to] himمِنminfromرَّحْمَتِنَآraḥmatināOur Mercyأَخَاهُakhāhuhis brotherهَـٰرُونَhārūnaHarunنَبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet
⤳ Link 19:53
54
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِىinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚis'māʿīlaIshmaelإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānawasصَادِقَṣādiqatrueٱلْوَعْدِl-waʿdi(to his) promiseوَكَانَwakānaand wasرَسُولًۭاrasūlana Messenger نَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet
⤳ Link 19:54
55
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّۭا
وَكَانَwakānaAnd he usedيَأْمُرُyamuru(to) enjoinأَهْلَهُۥahlahu(on) his peopleبِٱلصَّلَوٰةِbil-ṣalatithe prayerوَٱلزَّكَوٰةِwal-zakatiand zakahوَكَانَwakānaand wasعِندَʿindanearرَبِّهِۦrabbihihis Lordمَرْضِيًّۭاmarḍiyyanpleasing
And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakah and was to his Lord pleasing
⤳ Link 19:55
56
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا
وَٱذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِىinٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābithe Bookإِدْرِيسَ ۚid'rīsaIdrisإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heكَانَkānawasصِدِّيقًۭاṣiddīqantruthfulنَّبِيًّۭاnabiyyana Prophet
And mention in the Book, Idrees. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet
⤳ Link 19:56
57
وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُwarafaʿnāhuAnd We raised himمَكَانًاmakānan(to) a positionعَلِيًّاʿaliyyanhigh
And We raised him to a high station
⤳ Link 19:57
58
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍۢ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًۭا وَبُكِيًّۭا ۩
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَulāikaThoseٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(were) the ones whomأَنْعَمَanʿamaAllah bestowed favorٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah bestowed favorعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimupon themمِّنَminafrom (among)ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَl-nabiyīnathe Prophetsمِنminofذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspringءَادَمَādama(of) Adamوَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of thoseحَمَلْنَاḥamalnāWe carriedمَعَmaʿawithنُوحٍۢnūḥinNuhوَمِنwaminand ofذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspringإِبْرَٰهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahimوَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَwa-is'rāīlaand Israelوَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of (those) whomهَدَيْنَاhadaynāWe guidedوَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚwa-ij'tabaynāand We choseإِذَاidhāWhenتُتْلَىٰtut'lāwere recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَـٰتُāyātu(the) Versesٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Graciousخَرُّوا۟kharrūthey fellسُجَّدًۭاsujjadanprostratingوَبُكِيًّۭا ۩wabukiyyanand weeping
Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping
⤳ Link 19:58
59
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
۞ فَخَلَفَfakhalafaThen succeededمِنۢminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themخَلْفٌkhalfunsuccessorsأَضَاعُوا۟aḍāʿūwho neglectedٱلصَّلَوٰةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَٱتَّبَعُوا۟wa-ittabaʿūand they followedٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖl-shahawātithe lustsفَسَوْفَfasawfaso soonيَلْقَوْنَyalqawnathey will meetغَيًّاghayyanevil
But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil
⤳ Link 19:59
60
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا
إِلَّاillāExceptمَنman(one) whoتَابَtābarepentedوَءَامَنَwaāmanaand believedوَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand didصَـٰلِحًۭاṣāliḥangood (deeds)فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَfa-ulāikaThen thoseيَدْخُلُونَyadkhulūnawill enterٱلْجَنَّةَl-janataParadiseوَلَاwalāand notيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnathey will be wrongedشَيْـًۭٔاshayan(in) anything
Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all
⤳ Link 19:60
61
جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّۭا
جَنَّـٰتِjannātiGardensعَدْنٍʿadnin(of) Edenٱلَّتِىallatīwhichوَعَدَwaʿadapromisedٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousعِبَادَهُۥʿibādahu(to) His slavesبِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚbil-ghaybiin the unseenإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, [it]كَانَkānaisوَعْدُهُۥwaʿduhuHis promiseمَأْتِيًّۭاmatiyyansure to come
[Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming
⤳ Link 19:61
62
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَـٰمًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا
لَّاNotيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnathey will hearفِيهَاfīhāthereinلَغْوًاlaghwanvain talkإِلَّاillābutسَلَـٰمًۭا ۖsalāmanpeaceوَلَهُمْwalahumAnd for themرِزْقُهُمْriz'quhum(is) their provisionفِيهَاfīhāthereinبُكْرَةًۭbuk'ratanmorningوَعَشِيًّۭاwaʿashiyyanand evening
They will not hear therein any ill speech - only [greetings of] peace - and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon
⤳ Link 19:62
63
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّۭا
تِلْكَtil'kaThisٱلْجَنَّةُl-janatu(is) ParadiseٱلَّتِىallatīwhichنُورِثُnūrithuWe give (as) inheritanceمِنْmin[of] (to)عِبَادِنَاʿibādināOur slavesمَنman(the one) whoكَانَkānaisتَقِيًّۭاtaqiyyanrighteous
That is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allah
⤳ Link 19:63
64
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّۭا
وَمَاwamāAnd notنَتَنَزَّلُnatanazzaluwe descendإِلَّاillāexceptبِأَمْرِbi-amriby (the) Commandرَبِّكَ ۖrabbika(of) your LordلَهُۥlahuTo Him (belongs)مَاwhatبَيْنَbayna(is) before usأَيْدِينَاaydīnā(is) before usوَمَاwamāand whatخَلْفَنَاkhalfanā(is) behind usوَمَاwamāand whatبَيْنَbayna(is) betweenذَٰلِكَ ۚdhālikathatوَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānaisرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordنَسِيًّۭاnasiyyanforgetful
[Gabriel said], "And we [angels] descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful
⤳ Link 19:64
65
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّۭا
رَّبُّrabbuLordٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between both of themفَٱعْبُدْهُfa-uʿ'bud'huso worship Himوَٱصْطَبِرْwa-iṣ'ṭabirand be constantلِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚliʿibādatihiin His worshipهَلْhalDoتَعْلَمُtaʿlamuyou knowلَهُۥlahufor Himسَمِيًّۭاsamiyyanany similarity
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him
⤳ Link 19:65
66
وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
وَيَقُولُwayaqūluAnd saysٱلْإِنسَـٰنُl-insānu[the] manأَءِذَاa-idhāWhat! WhenمَاWhat! WhenمِتُّmittuI am deadلَسَوْفَlasawfasurely willأُخْرَجُukh'rajuI be brought forthحَيًّاḥayyanalive
And the disbeliever says, "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive
⤳ Link 19:66
67
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا
أَوَلَاawalāDoes notيَذْكُرُyadhkururememberٱلْإِنسَـٰنُl-insānu[the] manأَنَّاannāthat WeخَلَقْنَـٰهُkhalaqnāhuWe created himمِنminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلَمْwalamwhile notيَكُyakuhe wasشَيْـًۭٔاshayananything
Does man not remember that We created him before, while he was nothing
⤳ Link 19:67
68
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّۭا
فَوَرَبِّكَfawarabbikaSo by your Lordلَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْlanaḥshurannahumsurely, We will gather themوَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَwal-shayāṭīnaand the devilsثُمَّthummathenلَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْlanuḥ'ḍirannahumsurely, We will bring themحَوْلَḥawlaaroundجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellجِثِيًّۭاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
So by your Lord, We will surely gather them and the devils; then We will bring them to be present around Hell upon their knees
⤳ Link 19:68
69
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عِتِيًّۭا
ثُمَّthummaThenلَنَنزِعَنَّlananziʿannasurely, We will drag outمِنminfromكُلِّkullieveryشِيعَةٍshīʿatinsectأَيُّهُمْayyuhumthose of themأَشَدُّashaddu(who were) worstعَلَىʿalāagainstٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعِتِيًّۭاʿitiyyan(in) rebellion
Then We will surely extract from every sect those of them who were worst against the Most Merciful in insolence
⤳ Link 19:69
70
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّۭا
ثُمَّthummaThenلَنَحْنُlanaḥnusurely, Weأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknow bestبِٱلَّذِينَbi-alladhīna[of] those whoهُمْhum[they]أَوْلَىٰawlā(are) most worthyبِهَاbihāthereinصِلِيًّۭاṣiliyyan(of) being burnt
Then, surely it is We who are most knowing of those most worthy of burning therein
⤳ Link 19:70
71
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا
وَإِنwa-inAnd (there is) notمِّنكُمْminkum(any) of youإِلَّاillābutوَارِدُهَا ۚwāriduhā(will be) passing over itكَانَkāna(This) isعَلَىٰʿalāuponرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordحَتْمًۭاḥatmanan inevitabilityمَّقْضِيًّۭاmaqḍiyyandecreed
And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed
⤳ Link 19:71
72
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّۭا
ثُمَّthummaThenنُنَجِّىnunajjīWe will deliverٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱتَّقَوا۟ittaqawfeared (Allah)وَّنَذَرُwanadharuand We will leaveٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoersفِيهَاfīhāthereinجِثِيًّۭاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
Then We will save those who feared Allah and leave the wrongdoers within it, on their knees
⤳ Link 19:72
73
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌۭ مَّقَامًۭا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّۭا
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenتُتْلَىٰtut'lāare recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَـٰتُنَاāyātunāOur Versesبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢbayyinātinclearقَالَqālasayٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُوا۟kafarūdisbelievedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoءَامَنُوٓا۟āmanūbelievedأَىُّayyuWhichٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِl-farīqayni(of) the two groupsخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterمَّقَامًۭاmaqāman(in) positionوَأَحْسَنُwa-aḥsanuand bestنَدِيًّۭاnadiyyan(in) assembly
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association
⤳ Link 19:73
74
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَـٰثًۭا وَرِءْيًۭا
وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedقَبْلَهُمqablahumbefore themمِّنminofقَرْنٍqarnina generation هُمْhumtheyأَحْسَنُaḥsanu(were) betterأَثَـٰثًۭاathāthan(in) possessionsوَرِءْيًۭاwari'yanand appearance
And how many a generation have We destroyed before them who were better in possessions and [outward] appearance
⤳ Link 19:74
75
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّۭ مَّكَانًۭا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًۭا
قُلْqulSayمَنmanWhoeverكَانَkānaisفِىinٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِl-ḍalālati[the] errorفَلْيَمْدُدْfalyamdudthen surely will extendلَهُlahufor himٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousمَدًّا ۚmaddanan extensionحَتَّىٰٓḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenرَأَوْا۟ra-awthey seeمَاwhatيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey were promisedإِمَّاimmāeitherٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentوَإِمَّاwa-immāorٱلسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hourفَسَيَعْلَمُونَfasayaʿlamūnathen they will knowمَنْmanwhoهُوَhuwa[he]شَرٌّۭsharrun(is) worstمَّكَانًۭاmakānan(in) positionوَأَضْعَفُwa-aḍʿafuand weakerجُندًۭاjundan(in) forces
Say, "Whoever is in error - let the Most Merciful extend for him an extension [in wealth and time] until, when they see that which they were promised - either punishment [in this world] or the Hour [of resurrection] - they will come to know who is worst in position and weaker in soldiers
⤳ Link 19:75
76
وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًۭى ۗ وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًۭا وَخَيْرٌۭ مَّرَدًّا
وَيَزِيدُwayazīduAnd Allah increasesٱللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah increasesٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoٱهْتَدَوْا۟ih'tadawaccept guidanceهُدًۭى ۗhudan(in) guidanceوَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُwal-bāqiyātuAnd the everlastingٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُl-ṣāliḥātugood deedsخَيْرٌkhayrun(are) betterعِندَʿindanearرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordثَوَابًۭاthawāban(for) rewardوَخَيْرٌۭwakhayrunand betterمَّرَدًّاmaraddan(for) return
And Allah increases those who were guided, in guidance, and the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for recourse
⤳ Link 19:76
77
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًا
أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaThen, have you seenٱلَّذِىalladhīhe whoكَفَرَkafaradisbelievedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Versesوَقَالَwaqālaand saidلَأُوتَيَنَّlaūtayannaSurely, I will be givenمَالًۭاmālanwealthوَوَلَدًاwawaladanand children
Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]
⤳ Link 19:77
78
أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًۭا
أَطَّلَعَaṭṭalaʿaHas he lookedٱلْغَيْبَl-ghayba(into) the unseenأَمِamiorٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas he takenعِندَʿindafromٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعَهْدًۭاʿahdana promise
Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken from the Most Merciful a promise
⤳ Link 19:78
79
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّۭا
كَلَّا ۚkallāNayسَنَكْتُبُsanaktubuWe will recordمَاwhatيَقُولُyaqūluhe saysوَنَمُدُّwanamudduand We will extendلَهُۥlahufor himمِنَminafromٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentمَدًّۭاmaddanextensively
No! We will record what he says and extend for him from the punishment extensively
⤳ Link 19:79
80
وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًۭا
وَنَرِثُهُۥwanarithuhuAnd We will inherit (from) himمَاwhatيَقُولُyaqūluhe saysوَيَأْتِينَاwayatīnāand he will come to Usفَرْدًۭاfardanalone
And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone
⤳ Link 19:80
81
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّۭا
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟wa-ittakhadhūAnd they have takenمِنminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahٱللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahءَالِهَةًۭālihatangodsلِّيَكُونُوا۟liyakūnūthat they may beلَهُمْlahumfor themعِزًّۭاʿizzanan honor
And they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor
⤳ Link 19:81
82
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
كَلَّا ۚkallāNayسَيَكْفُرُونَsayakfurūnathey will denyبِعِبَادَتِهِمْbiʿibādatihimtheir worship (of them)وَيَكُونُونَwayakūnūnaand they will beعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst themضِدًّاḍiddanopponents
No! Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement]
⤳ Link 19:82
83
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّۭا
أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّآannāthat Weأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā[We] have sentٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَl-shayāṭīnathe devilsعَلَىʿalāuponٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversتَؤُزُّهُمْta-uzzuhuminciting themأَزًّۭاazzan(with) incitement
Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them to [evil] with [constant] incitement
⤳ Link 19:83
84
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّۭا
فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَعْجَلْtaʿjalmake hasteعَلَيْهِمْ ۖʿalayhimagainst themإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyنَعُدُّnaʿudduWe countلَهُمْlahumfor themعَدًّۭاʿaddana number
So be not impatient over them. We only count out to them a [limited] number
⤳ Link 19:84
85
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَفْدًۭا
يَوْمَyawma(The) DayنَحْشُرُnaḥshuruWe will gatherٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteousإِلَىilātoٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousوَفْدًۭاwafdan(as) a delegation
On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation
⤳ Link 19:85
86
وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًۭا
وَنَسُوقُwanasūquAnd We will driveٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminalsإِلَىٰilātoجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellوِرْدًۭاwir'danthirsty
And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst
⤳ Link 19:86
87
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًۭا
لَّاNotيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey will have the powerٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَl-shafāʿata(of) the intercessionإِلَّاillāexceptمَنِmani(he) whoٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas takenعِندَʿindafromٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعَهْدًۭاʿahdana covenant
None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant
⤳ Link 19:87
88
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًۭا
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they sayٱتَّخَذَittakhadhaHas takenٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousوَلَدًۭاwaladana son
And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken [for Himself] a son
⤳ Link 19:88
89
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّۭا
لَّقَدْlaqadVerilyجِئْتُمْji'tumyou have put forthشَيْـًٔاshayana thingإِدًّۭاiddanatrocious
You have done an atrocious thing
⤳ Link 19:89
90
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
تَكَادُtakāduAlmostٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُl-samāwātuthe heavensيَتَفَطَّرْنَyatafaṭṭarnaget tornمِنْهُmin'hutherefromوَتَنشَقُّwatanshaqquand splits asunderٱلْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthوَتَخِرُّwatakhirruand collapseٱلْجِبَالُl-jibāluthe mountainهَدًّاhaddan(in) devastation
The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation
⤳ Link 19:90
91
أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدًۭا
أَنanThatدَعَوْا۟daʿawthey invokeلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousوَلَدًۭاwaladana son
That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son
⤳ Link 19:91
92
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
وَمَاwamāAnd notيَنۢبَغِىyanbaghīis appropriateلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānifor the Most GraciousأَنanthatيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should takeوَلَدًاwaladana son
And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son
⤳ Link 19:92
93
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَبْدًۭا
إِنinNotكُلُّkulluallمَنmanwhoفِى(are) inٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِلَّآillābutءَاتِىātī(will) comeٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(to) the Most Graciousعَبْدًۭاʿabdan(as) a slave
There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant
⤳ Link 19:93
94
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّۭا
لَّقَدْlaqadVerilyأَحْصَىٰهُمْaḥṣāhumHe has enumerated themوَعَدَّهُمْwaʿaddahumand counted themعَدًّۭاʿaddana counting
He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting
⤳ Link 19:94
95
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَرْدًا
وَكُلُّهُمْwakulluhumAnd all of themءَاتِيهِātīhi(will) come (to) Himيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionفَرْدًاfardanalone
And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone
⤳ Link 19:95
96
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وُدًّۭا
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelievedوَعَمِلُوا۟waʿamilūand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِl-ṣāliḥātigood deedsسَيَجْعَلُsayajʿaluwill bestowلَهُمُlahumufor themٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousوُدًّۭاwuddanaffection
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا لُّدًّۭا
فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāSo, onlyيَسَّرْنَـٰهُyassarnāhuWe (have) made it easyبِلِسَانِكَbilisānikain your tongueلِتُبَشِّرَlitubashirathat you may give glad tidingsبِهِbihiwith itٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(to) the righteousوَتُنذِرَwatundhiraand warnبِهِۦbihiwith itقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleلُّدًّۭاluddanhostile
So, [O Muhammad], We have only made Qur'an easy in the Arabic language that you may give good tidings thereby to the righteous and warn thereby a hostile people

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا
وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe (have) destroyedقَبْلَهُمqablahumbefore themمِّنminofقَرْنٍqarnina generationهَلْhalCanتُحِسُّtuḥissuyou perceiveمِنْهُمmin'humof themمِّنْminanyأَحَدٍaḥadinoneأَوْaworتَسْمَعُtasmaʿuhearلَهُمْlahumfrom themرِكْزًۢاrik'zana sound
And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound
