Dua on Seeing the New Crescent Moon

اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ

Transliteration

Allahumma ahlilhu 'alayna bil-yumni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-islam, rabbi wa rabbuk-Allah

O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.

When you see the new crescent moon at the start of a month. The moon of Ramadan is one of them.

Talhah ibn 'Ubaydullah.

When the Prophet ﷺ saw the new crescent moon, he said these words.

Imam al-Tirmidhi himself called this hadith hasan gharib. So scholars of hadith differ on its strength.
