Surah 93 of 114 · Makki
سُورَةُ الضُّحَىٰ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
2
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ
وَٱلَّيْلِwa-al-layliAnd the nightإِذَاidhāwhenسَجَىٰsajāit covers with darkness
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness
⤳ Link
93:2
3
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ
مَاmāNotوَدَّعَكَwaddaʿakahas forsaken youرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordوَمَاwamāand notقَلَىٰqalāHe is displeased
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]

93:3
4
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُwalalākhiratuAnd surely the Hereafterخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterلَّكَlakafor youمِنَminathanٱلْأُولَىٰl-ūlāthe first
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]

93:4
5
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ
وَلَسَوْفَwalasawfaAnd soonيُعْطِيكَyuʿ'ṭīkawill give youرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordفَتَرْضَىٰٓfatarḍāthen you will be satisfied
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied

93:5
6
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ
أَلَمْalamDid notيَجِدْكَyajid'kaHe find youيَتِيمًۭاyatīmanan orphanفَـَٔاوَىٰfaāwāand give shelter
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge

93:6
7
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ
وَوَجَدَكَwawajadakaAnd He found youضَآلًّۭاḍāllanlostفَهَدَىٰfahadāso He guided
And He found you lost and guided [you]

93:7
8
وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ
وَوَجَدَكَwawajadakaAnd He found youعَآئِلًۭاʿāilanin needفَأَغْنَىٰfa-aghnāso He made self-sufficient
And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient

93:8
9
فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ
فَأَمَّاfa-ammāSo as forٱلْيَتِيمَl-yatīmathe orphanفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَقْهَرْtaqharoppress
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]

93:9
10
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāAnd as forٱلسَّآئِلَl-sāilaone who asksفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَنْهَرْtanharrepel
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]

11
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forبِنِعْمَةِbiniʿ'mati(the) Favorرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordفَحَدِّثْfaḥaddithnarrate
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]
