The Niyat mosque directory lists 1344 mosques across 281 cities in the United Kingdom, computed from an OpenStreetMap extract of 1417 mapped records. This page breaks the listings down by city and region, shows how many carry contact and facility tags, and measures how tightly the mapped mosques cluster. OpenStreetMap coverage is partial — these are mapped mosques, not a census of mosques.

The median nearest-neighbour distance is 0.4 km (0.3 mi): half of the 1417 mapped mosques with a computable neighbour in United Kingdom have another mapped mosque within 0.4 km. 0 mapped mosques have no other mapped mosque nearby in this extract. Dense city centres pull the median down; the figure reflects how tightly the mapped mosques cluster, not how far worshippers travel.

Every figure on this page is computed from the OpenStreetMap-derived extract behind the Niyat mosque directory, refreshed 14 September 2026. OpenStreetMap coverage is partial: many mosques are unmapped, and a mapped mosque may be missing tags. The numbers therefore describe the map as it stands, not the full population of mosques in the United Kingdom.
