Duas for Depression and Hardship

For seasons that do not lift quickly — the prayers of Ayyub and Yunus, patience in loss, words for the sick.

Islam does not ask believers to perform wellness. Ayyub cried out from years of loss; Yunus called from three darknesses; and both were answered. The duas on this page are for the seasons that do not lift quickly: the prayer of patience when catastrophe lands, the prayer of Ayyub when the body and life have both broken, words for the sick, and the sunna of placing a hand where it hurts. If low mood persists, seek treatment as well — dua and medicine are not rivals in this deen. The Arabic below is copied byte-for-byte from Niyat's reviewed dua library, and each card links to the full page with its exact reference in the Quran or the hadith collections.
