Surah 107 of 114 · Makki
سُورَةُ المَاعُونِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ
أَرَءَيْتَara-aytaHave you seenٱلَّذِىalladhīthe one whoيُكَذِّبُyukadhibudeniesبِٱلدِّينِbil-dīnithe Judgment
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense

107:1
2
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
فَذَٰلِكَfadhālikaThen thatٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the one whoيَدُعُّyaduʿʿurepulsesٱلْيَتِيمَl-yatīmathe orphan
For that is the one who drives away the orphan

107:2
3
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
وَلَاwalāAnd (does) notيَحُضُّyaḥuḍḍufeel the urgeعَلَىٰʿalātoطَعَامِṭaʿāmifeedٱلْمِسْكِينِl-mis'kīnithe poor
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor

4
فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
فَوَيْلٌۭfawaylunSo woeلِّلْمُصَلِّينَlil'muṣallīnato those who pray
So woe to those who pray

5
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]عَنʿanaboutصَلَاتِهِمْṣalātihimtheir prayersسَاهُونَsāhūna(are) neglectful
[But] who are heedless of their prayer

6
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]يُرَآءُونَyurāūnamake show
Those who make show [of their deeds]

7
وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ
وَيَمْنَعُونَwayamnaʿūnaAnd they denyٱلْمَاعُونَl-māʿūna[the] small kindnesses
And withhold [simple] assistance
