How this works
- Drawn on your device. Each design is drawn with code on an HTML canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the names you type are never sent to Niyat or put in the link.
- Real Arabic lettering. The page waits for the Arabic fonts (Amiri for Naskh, Aref Ruqaa and Reem Kufi) to load before drawing, so letters join and read right to left as they should.
- Sizes that fit. Post is 1080 by 1080 for chats and feeds. Story is 1080 by 1920 for WhatsApp status and Instagram stories, with the words kept clear of the top and bottom bars.
- Sharing. On most phones Share sends the image straight to WhatsApp, Instagram or Messages. Where a browser cannot share images, the card is saved instead.
Sources: Qur’an references link to the Niyat Qur’an. Hadith numbers follow the standard numbering of each collection (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abi Dawud, Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Sunan an-Nasa’i, Sunan Ibn Majah). Fonts are from Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
Frequently asked questions
What do Muslims say when someone dies?
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji‘un”: truly we belong to Allah and to Him we return (Qur’an 2:156). To the family, the Prophet ﷺ said: “To Allah belongs what He took and what He gave… so be patient and hope for reward” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1284).
Is it appropriate to send a card?
Yes. Ta‘ziyah (offering condolence) is a sunnah, in person, by message or in writing. Keep it short and sincere, and offer practical help where you can.
How long is the condolence period?
Many scholars hold that condolence is offered mainly in the first three days, since mourning beyond three days is only for a widow (Sahih al-Bukhari 1280). Others allow it later for someone who was away. A kind word is never wrong.
Why are there no festive designs here?
These cards use quiet colours and simple frames on purpose. The calligraphy design is the most restrained.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The card is drawn in your browser and nothing you type, including the name of the deceased, is sent to Niyat or saved.
