Turkey follows a pre-calculated lunar calendar, so the start date is set by astronomical calculation rather than a moon sighting.
Diyanet fixes the Ramadan calendar each year using pre-calculated astronomical data, not physical moon sighting, and announces the date well in advance. Ramadan 1447 was confirmed by Diyanet's own announcement to start February 19, 2026.
