بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
1
حمٓ
حمٓhha-meemHa Meem
Ha, Meem
⤳ Link 43:1
2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِwal-kitābiBy the Bookٱلْمُبِينِl-mubīnithe clear
By the clear Book
⤳ Link 43:2
3
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weجَعَلْنَـٰهُjaʿalnāhu(have) made itقُرْءَٰنًاqur'ānana Quranعَرَبِيًّۭاʿarabiyyan(in) Arabicلَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnaunderstand
Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand
⤳ Link 43:3
4
وَإِنَّهُۥ فِىٓ أُمِّ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, itفِىٓ(is) inأُمِّummi(the) Motherٱلْكِتَـٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Bookلَدَيْنَاladaynāwith Usلَعَلِىٌّlaʿaliyyunsurely exaltedحَكِيمٌḥakīmunfull of wisdom
And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom
⤳ Link 43:4
5
أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا مُّسْرِفِينَ
أَفَنَضْرِبُafanaḍribuThen should We take awayعَنكُمُʿankumufrom youٱلذِّكْرَl-dhik'rathe Reminderصَفْحًاṣafḥandisregarding (you)أَنanbecauseكُنتُمْkuntumyou areقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleمُّسْرِفِينَmus'rifīnatransgressing
Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people
⤳ Link 43:5
6
وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِىٍّۢ فِى ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنminofنَّبِىٍّۢnabiyyina Prophetفِىamongٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīnathe former (people)
And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples
⤳ Link 43:6
7
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notيَأْتِيهِمyatīhimcame to themمِّنminany Prophetنَّبِىٍّnabiyyinany Prophetإِلَّاillābutكَانُوا۟kānūthey used toبِهِۦbihimock at himيَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock at him
But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him
⤳ Link 43:7
8
فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًۭا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
فَأَهْلَكْنَآfa-ahlaknāThen We destroyedأَشَدَّashaddastrongerمِنْهُمmin'humthan themبَطْشًۭاbaṭshan(in) powerوَمَضَىٰwamaḍāand has passedمَثَلُmathalu(the) exampleٱلْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded
⤳ Link 43:8
9
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنْmanWhoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnaThey will surely sayخَلَقَهُنَّkhalaqahunnaCreated themٱلْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mightyٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing
⤳ Link 43:9
10
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
ٱلَّذِىalladhīThe One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthمَهْدًۭاmahdana bedوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمْlakumfor youفِيهَاfīhāthereinسُبُلًۭاsubulanroadsلَّعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَهْتَدُونَtahtadūna(be) guided
[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided
⤳ Link 43:10
11
وَٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍۢ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ
وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoنَزَّلَnazzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe skyمَآءًۢmāanwaterبِقَدَرٍۢbiqadarinin (due) measureفَأَنشَرْنَاfa-ansharnāthen We reviveبِهِۦbihiwith itبَلْدَةًۭbaldatana landمَّيْتًۭا ۚmaytandeadكَذَٰلِكَkadhālikathusتُخْرَجُونَtukh'rajūnayou will be brought forth
And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth
⤳ Link 43:11
12
وَٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ
وَٱلَّذِىwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلْأَزْوَٰجَl-azwājathe pairsكُلَّهَاkullahāall of themوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَmina[of]ٱلْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipsوَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِwal-anʿāmiand the cattleمَاwhatتَرْكَبُونَtarkabūnayou ride
And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount
⤳ Link 43:12
13
لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ
لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟litastawūThat you may sit firmlyعَلَىٰʿalāonظُهُورِهِۦẓuhūrihitheir backsثُمَّthummathenتَذْكُرُوا۟tadhkurūrememberنِعْمَةَniʿ'mata(the) favorرَبِّكُمْrabbikum(of) your Lordإِذَاidhāwhenٱسْتَوَيْتُمْis'tawaytumyou sit firmlyعَلَيْهِʿalayhion themوَتَقُولُوا۟wataqūlūand sayسُبْحَـٰنَsub'ḥānaGlory be (to)ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Whoسَخَّرَsakhara(has) subjectedلَنَاlanāto usهَـٰذَاhādhāthisوَمَاwamāand notكُنَّاkunnāwe wereلَهُۥlahuof itمُقْرِنِينَmuq'rinīnacapable
That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it
⤳ Link 43:13
14
وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
وَإِنَّآwa-innāAnd indeed, weإِلَىٰilātoرَبِّنَاrabbināour Lordلَمُنقَلِبُونَlamunqalibūnawill surely return
And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return
⤳ Link 43:14
15
وَجَعَلُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزْءًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَكَفُورٌۭ مُّبِينٌ
وَجَعَلُوا۟wajaʿalūBut they attributeلَهُۥlahuto HimمِنْminfromعِبَادِهِۦʿibādihiHis slavesجُزْءًا ۚjuz'ana portionإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insānamanلَكَفُورٌۭlakafūrunsurely (is) clearly ungratefulمُّبِينٌmubīnunsurely (is) clearly ungrateful
But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful
⤳ Link 43:15
16
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍۢ وَأَصْفَىٰكُم بِٱلْبَنِينَ
أَمِamiOrٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas He takenمِمَّاmimmāof whatيَخْلُقُyakhluquHe has createdبَنَاتٍۢbanātindaughtersوَأَصْفَىٰكُمwa-aṣfākumand He has chosen (for) youبِٱلْبَنِينَbil-banīnasons
Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons
⤳ Link 43:16
17
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مَثَلًۭا ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّۭا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenبُشِّرَbushirais given good newsأَحَدُهُمaḥaduhum(to) one of themبِمَاbimāof whatضَرَبَḍarabahe sets upلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānifor the Most Graciousمَثَلًۭاmathalan(as) a likenessظَلَّẓallabecomesوَجْهُهُۥwajhuhuhis faceمُسْوَدًّۭاmus'waddandarkوَهُوَwahuwaand heكَظِيمٌkaẓīmun(is) filled with grief
And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief
⤳ Link 43:17
18
أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُا۟ فِى ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍۢ
أَوَمَنawamanThen (is one) whoيُنَشَّؤُا۟yunasha-uis brought upفِىinٱلْحِلْيَةِl-ḥil'yatiornamentsوَهُوَwahuwaand heفِىinٱلْخِصَامِl-khiṣāmithe disputeغَيْرُghayru(is) notمُبِينٍۢmubīninclear
So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]
⤳ Link 43:18
19
وَجَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَـٰدُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ إِنَـٰثًا ۚ أَشَهِدُوا۟ خَلْقَهُمْ ۚ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَـٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ
وَجَعَلُوا۟wajaʿalūAnd they madeٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَl-malāikatathe Angelsٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoهُمْhumthemselvesعِبَـٰدُʿibādu(are) slavesٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Graciousإِنَـٰثًا ۚināthanfemalesأَشَهِدُوا۟ashahidūDid they witnessخَلْقَهُمْ ۚkhalqahumtheir creationسَتُكْتَبُsatuk'tabuWill be recordedشَهَـٰدَتُهُمْshahādatuhumtheir testimonyوَيُسْـَٔلُونَwayus'alūnaand they will be questioned
And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned
⤳ Link 43:19
20
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَـٰهُم ۗ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they sayلَوْlawIfشَآءَshāahad willedٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousمَاwe would not have worshipped themعَبَدْنَـٰهُم ۗʿabadnāhumwe would not have worshipped themمَّاNotلَهُمlahumthey haveبِذَٰلِكَbidhālikaabout thatمِنْminanyعِلْمٍ ۖʿil'minknowledgeإِنْinNothingهُمْhumthey (do)إِلَّاillābutيَخْرُصُونَyakhruṣūnalie
And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying
⤳ Link 43:20
21
أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ كِتَـٰبًۭا مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ فَهُم بِهِۦ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ
أَمْamOrءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْātaynāhumhave We given themكِتَـٰبًۭاkitābana bookمِّنminbefore itقَبْلِهِۦqablihibefore itفَهُمfahumso theyبِهِۦbihito itمُسْتَمْسِكُونَmus'tamsikūna(are) holding fast
Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering
⤳ Link 43:21
22
بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍۢ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَ
بَلْbalNayقَالُوٓا۟qālūthey sayإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weوَجَدْنَآwajadnā[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاābāanāour forefathersعَلَىٰٓʿalāuponأُمَّةٍۢummatina religionوَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed, weعَلَىٰٓʿalāonءَاثَـٰرِهِمāthārihimtheir footstepsمُّهْتَدُونَmuh'tadūna(are) guided
Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided
⤳ Link 43:22
23
وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى قَرْيَةٍۢ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍۢ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ
وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusمَآnotأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youفِىinقَرْيَةٍۢqaryatina townمِّنminanyنَّذِيرٍnadhīrinwarnerإِلَّاillāexceptقَالَqālasaidمُتْرَفُوهَآmut'rafūhā(the) wealthy ones of itإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weوَجَدْنَآwajadnā[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاābāanāour forefathersعَلَىٰٓʿalāonأُمَّةٍۢummatina religionوَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed, weعَلَىٰٓʿalā[on]ءَاثَـٰرِهِمāthārihimtheir footstepsمُّقْتَدُونَmuq'tadūna(are) following
And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following
⤳ Link 43:23
24
۞ قَـٰلَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ
۞ قَـٰلَqālaHe saidأَوَلَوْawalawEven ifجِئْتُكُمji'tukumI brought youبِأَهْدَىٰbi-ahdābetter guidanceمِمَّاmimmāthan whatوَجَدتُّمْwajadttumyou foundعَلَيْهِʿalayhion itءَابَآءَكُمْ ۖābāakumyour forefathersقَالُوٓا۟qālūThey saidإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weبِمَآbimāwith whatأُرْسِلْتُمur'sil'tumyou are sentبِهِۦbihiwith [it]كَـٰفِرُونَkāfirūna(are) disbelievers
[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers
⤳ Link 43:24
25
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
فَٱنتَقَمْنَاfa-intaqamnāSo We took retributionمِنْهُمْ ۖmin'humfrom themفَٱنظُرْfa-unẓurThen seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَـٰقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَl-mukadhibīna(of) the deniers
So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers
⤳ Link 43:25
26
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ
وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenقَالَqālaIbrahim Saidإِبْرَٰهِيمُib'rāhīmuIbrahim Saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherوَقَوْمِهِۦٓwaqawmihiand his peopleإِنَّنِىinnanīIndeed, I (am)بَرَآءٌۭbarāondisassociatedمِّمَّاmimmāfrom whatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worship
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship
⤳ Link 43:26
27
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ سَيَهْدِينِ
إِلَّاillāExceptٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Whoفَطَرَنِىfaṭaranīcreated meفَإِنَّهُۥfa-innahuand indeed, Heسَيَهْدِينِsayahdīniwill guide me
Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me
⤳ Link 43:27
28
وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةًۢ بَاقِيَةًۭ فِى عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
وَجَعَلَهَاwajaʿalahāAnd he made itكَلِمَةًۢkalimatana wordبَاقِيَةًۭbāqiyatanlastingفِىamongعَقِبِهِۦʿaqibihihis descendentsلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it]
⤳ Link 43:28
29
بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
بَلْbalNayمَتَّعْتُmattaʿtuI gave enjoymentهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāi(to) theseوَءَابَآءَهُمْwaābāahumand their forefathersحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilجَآءَهُمُjāahumucame to themٱلْحَقُّl-ḥaquthe truthوَرَسُولٌۭwarasūlunand a Messengerمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger
⤳ Link 43:29
30
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌۭ وَإِنَّا بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَآءَهُمُjāahumucame to themٱلْحَقُّl-ḥaquthe truthقَالُوا۟qālūthey saidهَـٰذَاhādhāThisسِحْرٌۭsiḥ'run(is) magicوَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed, weبِهِۦbihiof itكَـٰفِرُونَkāfirūna(are) disbelievers
But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers
⤳ Link 43:30
31
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they sayلَوْلَاlawlāWhy notنُزِّلَnuzzilawas sent downهَـٰذَاhādhāthisٱلْقُرْءَانُl-qur'ānuthe Quranعَلَىٰʿalātoرَجُلٍۢrajulina manمِّنَminafromٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِl-qaryataynithe two townsعَظِيمٍʿaẓīmingreat
And they said, "Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities
⤳ Link 43:31
32
أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَ ۚ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍۢ دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًۭا سُخْرِيًّۭا ۗ وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
أَهُمْahumDo theyيَقْسِمُونَyaqsimūnadistributeرَحْمَتَraḥmata(the) Mercyرَبِّكَ ۚrabbika(of) your LordنَحْنُnaḥnuWeقَسَمْنَاqasamnā[We] distributeبَيْنَهُمbaynahumamong themمَّعِيشَتَهُمْmaʿīshatahumtheir livelihoodفِىinٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayatithe lifeٱلدُّنْيَا ۚl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَرَفَعْنَاwarafaʿnāand We raiseبَعْضَهُمْbaʿḍahumsome of themفَوْقَfawqaaboveبَعْضٍۢbaʿḍinothersدَرَجَـٰتٍۢdarajātin(in) degreesلِّيَتَّخِذَliyattakhidhaso that may takeبَعْضُهُمbaʿḍuhumsome of themبَعْضًۭاbaʿḍanothersسُخْرِيًّۭا ۗsukh'riyyan(for) serviceوَرَحْمَتُwaraḥmatuBut (the) Mercyرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordخَيْرٌۭkhayrun(is) betterمِّمَّاmimmāthan whatيَجْمَعُونَyajmaʿūnathey accumulate
Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate
⤳ Link 43:32
33
وَلَوْلَآ أَن يَكُونَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَن يَكْفُرُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفًۭا مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ
وَلَوْلَآwalawlāAnd if notأَنanthatيَكُونَyakūna(would) becomeٱلنَّاسُl-nāsu[the] mankindأُمَّةًۭummatana communityوَٰحِدَةًۭwāḥidatanoneلَّجَعَلْنَاlajaʿalnāWe (would have) madeلِمَنlimanfor (one) whoيَكْفُرُyakfurudisbelievesبِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِbil-raḥmāniin the Most Graciousلِبُيُوتِهِمْlibuyūtihimfor their housesسُقُفًۭاsuqufanroofsمِّنminofفِضَّةٍۢfiḍḍatinsilverوَمَعَارِجَwamaʿārijaand stairwaysعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāupon whichيَظْهَرُونَyaẓharūnathey mount
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount
⤳ Link 43:33
34
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا وَسُرُرًا عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِـُٔونَ
وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْwalibuyūtihimAnd for their housesأَبْوَٰبًۭاabwābandoorsوَسُرُرًاwasururanand couchesعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāupon whichيَتَّكِـُٔونَyattakiūnathey recline
And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
⤳ Link 43:34
35
وَزُخْرُفًۭا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَـٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
وَزُخْرُفًۭا ۚwazukh'rufanAnd ornaments of goldوَإِنwa-inAnd not (is)كُلُّkulluallذَٰلِكَdhālikathatلَمَّاlammābutمَتَـٰعُmatāʿuan enjoymentٱلْحَيَوٰةِl-ḥayati(of) the lifeٱلدُّنْيَا ۚl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُwal-ākhiratuAnd the Hereafterعِندَʿindawithرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordلِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīna(is) for the righteous
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous
⤳ Link 43:35
36
وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطَـٰنًۭا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٌۭ
وَمَنwamanAnd whoeverيَعْشُyaʿshuturns awayعَنʿanfromذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most GraciousنُقَيِّضْnuqayyiḍWe appointلَهُۥlahufor himشَيْطَـٰنًۭاshayṭānana devilفَهُوَfahuwathen heلَهُۥlahu(is) to himقَرِينٌۭqarīnuna companion
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion
⤳ Link 43:36
37
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ
وَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumAnd indeed, theyلَيَصُدُّونَهُمْlayaṣuddūnahumsurely, turn themعَنِʿanifromٱلسَّبِيلِl-sabīlithe Pathوَيَحْسَبُونَwayaḥsabūnaand they thinkأَنَّهُمannahumthat theyمُّهْتَدُونَmuh'tadūna(are) guided
And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided
⤳ Link 43:37
38
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَـٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ
حَتَّىٰٓḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenجَآءَنَاjāanāhe comes to Usقَالَqālahe saysيَـٰلَيْتَyālaytaO would thatبَيْنِىbaynībetween meوَبَيْنَكَwabaynakaand between youبُعْدَbuʿ'da(were the) distanceٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِl-mashriqayni(of) the East and the Westفَبِئْسَfabi'saHow wretched isٱلْقَرِينُl-qarīnuthe companion
Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion
⤳ Link 43:38
39
وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
وَلَنwalanAnd neverيَنفَعَكُمُyanfaʿakumuwill benefit youٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmathe Dayإِذidhwhenظَّلَمْتُمْẓalamtumyou have wrongedأَنَّكُمْannakumthat youفِى(will be) inٱلْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentمُشْتَرِكُونَmush'tarikūnasharing
And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment
⤳ Link 43:39
40
أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِى ٱلْعُمْىَ وَمَن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
أَفَأَنتَafa-antaThen can youتُسْمِعُtus'miʿucause to hearٱلصُّمَّl-ṣumathe deafأَوْaworتَهْدِىtahdīguideٱلْعُمْىَl-ʿum'yathe blindوَمَنwamanand (one) whoكَانَkānaisفِىinضَلَـٰلٍۢḍalālinan errorمُّبِينٍۢmubīninclear
Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error
⤳ Link 43:40
41
فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ
فَإِمَّاfa-immāAnd whetherنَذْهَبَنَّnadhhabannaWe take you awayبِكَbikaWe take you awayفَإِنَّاfa-innāthen indeed, Weمِنْهُمmin'humfrom themمُّنتَقِمُونَmuntaqimūna(will) take retribution
And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them
⤳ Link 43:41
42
أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ ٱلَّذِى وَعَدْنَـٰهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَ
أَوْawOrنُرِيَنَّكَnuriyannakaWe show youٱلَّذِىalladhīthat whichوَعَدْنَـٰهُمْwaʿadnāhumWe have promised themفَإِنَّاfa-innāthen indeed, Weعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimover themمُّقْتَدِرُونَmuq'tadirūnahave full power
Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability
⤳ Link 43:42
43
فَٱسْتَمْسِكْ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
فَٱسْتَمْسِكْfa-is'tamsikSo hold fastبِٱلَّذِىٓbi-alladhīto that whichأُوحِىَūḥiyais revealedإِلَيْكَ ۖilaykato youإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youعَلَىٰʿalā(are) onصِرَٰطٍۢṣirāṭina Pathمُّسْتَقِيمٍۢmus'taqīminStraight
So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path
⤳ Link 43:43
44
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذِكْرٌۭ لَّكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَ ۖ وَسَوْفَ تُسْـَٔلُونَ
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, itلَذِكْرٌۭladhik'run(is) surely, a Reminderلَّكَlakafor youوَلِقَوْمِكَ ۖwaliqawmikaand your peopleوَسَوْفَwasawfaand soonتُسْـَٔلُونَtus'alūnayou will be questioned
And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned
⤳ Link 43:44
45
وَسْـَٔلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ءَالِهَةًۭ يُعْبَدُونَ
وَسْـَٔلْwasalAnd askمَنْman(those) whomأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youمِنminofرُّسُلِنَآrusulināOur Messengersأَجَعَلْنَاajaʿalnādid We makeمِنminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousءَالِهَةًۭālihatangodsيُعْبَدُونَyuʿ'badūnato be worshipped
And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped
⤳ Link 43:45
46
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَقَالَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمُوسَىٰmūsāMusaبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآbiāyātināwith Our Signsإِلَىٰilātoفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraunوَمَلَإِي۟هِۦwamala-ihiand his chiefsفَقَالَfaqālaand he saidإِنِّىinnīIndeed, I amرَسُولُrasūlua Messengerرَبِّrabbi(of the) Lordٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds
⤳ Link 43:46
47
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ
فَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenجَآءَهُمjāahumhe came to themبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآbiāyātināwith Our SignsإِذَاidhābeholdهُمhumTheyمِّنْهَاmin'hāat themيَضْحَكُونَyaḍḥakūnalaughed
But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them
⤳ Link 43:47
48
وَمَا نُرِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ إِلَّا هِىَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا ۖ وَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notنُرِيهِمnurīhimWe showed themمِّنْminofءَايَةٍāyatina Signإِلَّاillābutهِىَhiyaitأَكْبَرُakbaru(was) greaterمِنْminthanأُخْتِهَا ۖukh'tihāits sisterوَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمwa-akhadhnāhumand We seized themبِٱلْعَذَابِbil-ʿadhābiwith the punishmentلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith]
⤳ Link 43:48
49
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ
وَقَالُوا۟waqālūAnd they saidيَـٰٓأَيُّهَyāayyuhaOٱلسَّاحِرُl-sāḥiru[the] magicianٱدْعُud'ʿuInvokeلَنَاlanāfor usرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordبِمَاbimāby whatعَهِدَʿahidaHe has made covenantعِندَكَʿindakawith youإِنَّنَاinnanāIndeed, weلَمُهْتَدُونَlamuh'tadūna(will) surely be guided
And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided
⤳ Link 43:49
50
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ
فَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenكَشَفْنَاkashafnāWe removedعَنْهُمُʿanhumufrom themٱلْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumTheyيَنكُثُونَyankuthūnabroke (their word)
But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word
⤳ Link 43:50
51
وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَـٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
وَنَادَىٰwanādāAnd called outفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunفِىamongقَوْمِهِۦqawmihihis peopleقَالَqālahe saidيَـٰقَوْمِyāqawmiO my peopleأَلَيْسَalaysaIs notلِىfor meمُلْكُmul'ku(the) kingdomمِصْرَmiṣ'ra(of) Egyptوَهَـٰذِهِwahādhihiand theseٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُl-anhāru[the] riversتَجْرِىtajrīflowingمِنminunderneath meتَحْتِىٓ ۖtaḥtīunderneath meأَفَلَاafalāThen do notتُبْصِرُونَtub'ṣirūnayou see
And Pharaoh called out among his people; he said, "O my people, does not the kingdom of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me; then do you not see
⤳ Link 43:51
52
أَمْ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ مَهِينٌۭ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُبِينُ
أَمْamOrأَنَا۠anāam Iخَيْرٌۭkhayrunbetterمِّنْminthanهَـٰذَاhādhāthisٱلَّذِىalladhīone who هُوَhuwaheمَهِينٌۭmahīnun(is) insignificantوَلَاwalāand hardlyيَكَادُyakāduand hardlyيُبِينُyubīnuclear
Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear
⤳ Link 43:52
53
فَلَوْلَآ أُلْقِىَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌۭ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ
فَلَوْلَآfalawlāThen why notأُلْقِىَul'qiyaare placedعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himأَسْوِرَةٌۭaswiratunbraceletsمِّنminofذَهَبٍdhahabingoldأَوْaworجَآءَjāacomeمَعَهُmaʿahuwith himٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsمُقْتَرِنِينَmuq'tarinīnaaccompanying (him)
Then why have there not been placed upon him bracelets of gold or come with him the angels in conjunction
⤳ Link 43:53
54
فَٱسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَـٰسِقِينَ
فَٱسْتَخَفَّfa-is'takhaffaSo he bluffedقَوْمَهُۥqawmahuhis peopleفَأَطَاعُوهُ ۚfa-aṭāʿūhuand they obeyed himإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyكَانُوا۟kānūwereقَوْمًۭاqawmana peopleفَـٰسِقِينَfāsiqīnadefiantly disobedient
So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah]
⤳ Link 43:54
55
فَلَمَّآ ءَاسَفُونَا ٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
فَلَمَّآfalammāSo whenءَاسَفُونَاāsafūnāthey angered UsٱنتَقَمْنَاintaqamnāWe took retributionمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themفَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْfa-aghraqnāhumand We drowned themأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
And when they angered Us, We took retribution from them and drowned them all
⤳ Link 43:55
56
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ سَلَفًۭا وَمَثَلًۭا لِّلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْfajaʿalnāhumAnd We made themسَلَفًۭاsalafana precedentوَمَثَلًۭاwamathalanand an exampleلِّلْـَٔاخِرِينَlil'ākhirīnafor the later (generations)
And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples
⤳ Link 43:56
57
۞ وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلًا إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ
۞ وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenضُرِبَḍuribais presentedٱبْنُub'nu(the) sonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamمَثَلًاmathalan(as) an exampleإِذَاidhābeholdقَوْمُكَqawmukaYour peopleمِنْهُmin'huabout itيَصِدُّونَyaṣiddūnalaughed aloud
And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud
⤳ Link 43:57
58
وَقَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَـٰلِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ ۚ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلَّا جَدَلًۢا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ
وَقَالُوٓا۟waqālūAnd they saidءَأَـٰلِهَتُنَاaālihatunāAre our godsخَيْرٌkhayrunbetterأَمْamorهُوَ ۚhuwaheمَاNotضَرَبُوهُḍarabūhuthey present itلَكَlakato youإِلَّاillāexceptجَدَلًۢا ۚjadalan(for) argumentبَلْbalNayهُمْhumtheyقَوْمٌqawmun(are) a peopleخَصِمُونَkhaṣimūnaargumentative
And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute
⤳ Link 43:58
59
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ مَثَلًۭا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
إِنْinNotهُوَhuwaheإِلَّاillā(was) exceptعَبْدٌʿabduna slaveأَنْعَمْنَاanʿamnāWe bestowed Our favorعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُwajaʿalnāhuand We made himمَثَلًۭاmathalanan exampleلِّبَنِىٓlibanīfor (the) Children of Israelإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَis'rāīlafor (the) Children of Israel
Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel
⤳ Link 43:59
60
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَـٰٓئِكَةًۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ
وَلَوْwalawAnd ifنَشَآءُnashāuWe willedلَجَعَلْنَاlajaʿalnāsurely We (could have) madeمِنكُمminkumamong youمَّلَـٰٓئِكَةًۭmalāikatanAngelsفِىinٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthيَخْلُفُونَyakhlufūnasucceeding
And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth
⤳ Link 43:60
61
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌۭ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ
وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed, itلَعِلْمٌۭlaʿil'munsurely (is) a knowledgeلِّلسَّاعَةِlilssāʿatiof the HourفَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَمْتَرُنَّtamtarunna(be) doubtfulبِهَاbihāabout itوَٱتَّبِعُونِ ۚwa-ittabiʿūniand follow MeهَـٰذَاhādhāThisصِرَٰطٌۭṣirāṭun(is the) Pathمُّسْتَقِيمٌۭmus'taqīmunStraight
And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path
⤳ Link 43:61
62
وَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
وَلَاwalāAnd (let) notيَصُدَّنَّكُمُyaṣuddannakumuavert youٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ ۖl-shayṭānuthe ShaitaanإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, heلَكُمْlakum(is) for youعَدُوٌّۭʿaduwwunan enemyمُّبِينٌۭmubīnunclear
And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy
⤳ Link 43:62
63
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ عِيسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenجَآءَjāacameعِيسَىٰʿīsāIsaبِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsقَالَqālahe saidقَدْqadVerilyجِئْتُكُمji'tukumI have come to youبِٱلْحِكْمَةِbil-ḥik'matiwith wisdomوَلِأُبَيِّنَwali-ubayyinaand that I make clearلَكُمlakumto youبَعْضَbaʿḍasomeٱلَّذِىalladhī(of) that whichتَخْتَلِفُونَtakhtalifūnayou differفِيهِ ۖfīhiin itفَٱتَّقُوا۟fa-ittaqūSo fearٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me
⤳ Link 43:63
64
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَl-lahaAllahهُوَhuwaHeرَبِّىrabbī(is) my Lordوَرَبُّكُمْwarabbukumand your Lordفَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚfa-uʿ'budūhuso worship HimهَـٰذَاhādhāThisصِرَٰطٌۭṣirāṭun(is) a Pathمُّسْتَقِيمٌۭmus'taqīmunStraight
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path
⤳ Link 43:64
65
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ
فَٱخْتَلَفَfa-ikh'talafaBut differedٱلْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe factionsمِنۢminfromبَيْنِهِمْ ۖbaynihimamong themفَوَيْلٌۭfawaylunso woeلِّلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoظَلَمُوا۟ẓalamūwrongedمِنْminfromعَذَابِʿadhābi(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of the) Dayأَلِيمٍalīminpainful
But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day
⤳ Link 43:65
66
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
هَلْhalAreيَنظُرُونَyanẓurūnathey waitingإِلَّاillāexceptٱلسَّاعَةَl-sāʿata(for) the Hourأَنanthatتَأْتِيَهُمtatiyahumit should come on themبَغْتَةًۭbaghtatansuddenlyوَهُمْwahumwhile theyلَا(do) notيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not
⤳ Link 43:66
67
ٱلْأَخِلَّآءُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
ٱلْأَخِلَّآءُal-akhilāuFriendsيَوْمَئِذٍۭyawma-idhinthat Dayبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themلِبَعْضٍlibaʿḍinto othersعَدُوٌّʿaduwwun(will be) enemiesإِلَّاillāexceptٱلْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteous
Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous
⤳ Link 43:67
68
يَـٰعِبَادِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ
يَـٰعِبَادِyāʿibādiO My slavesلَاNoخَوْفٌkhawfunfearعَلَيْكُمُʿalaykumuon youٱلْيَوْمَl-yawmathis Dayوَلَآwalāand notأَنتُمْantumyouتَحْزَنُونَtaḥzanūnawill grieve
[To whom Allah will say], "O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve
⤳ Link 43:68
69
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoءَامَنُوا۟āmanūbelievedبِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Versesوَكَانُوا۟wakānūand wereمُسْلِمِينَmus'limīnasubmissive
[You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims
⤳ Link 43:69
70
ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَ
ٱدْخُلُوا۟ud'khulūEnterٱلْجَنَّةَl-janataParadiseأَنتُمْantumyouوَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْwa-azwājukumand your spousesتُحْبَرُونَtuḥ'barūnadelighted
Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted
⤳ Link 43:70
71
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍۢ مِّن ذَهَبٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ ۖ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ ٱلْأَعْيُنُ ۖ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
يُطَافُyuṭāfuWill be circulatedعَلَيْهِمʿalayhimfor themبِصِحَافٍۢbiṣiḥāfinplatesمِّنminofذَهَبٍۢdhahabingoldوَأَكْوَابٍۢ ۖwa-akwābinand cupsوَفِيهَاwafīhāAnd thereinمَا(is) whatتَشْتَهِيهِtashtahīhidesiresٱلْأَنفُسُl-anfusuthe soulsوَتَلَذُّwataladhuand delightsٱلْأَعْيُنُ ۖl-aʿyunuthe eyesوَأَنتُمْwa-antumand youفِيهَاfīhāthereinخَـٰلِدُونَkhālidūnawill abide forever
Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally
⤳ Link 43:71
72
وَتِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd thisٱلْجَنَّةُl-janatu(is) the Paradiseٱلَّتِىٓallatīwhichأُورِثْتُمُوهَاūrith'tumūhāyou are made to inheritبِمَاbimāfor whatكُنتُمْkuntumyou used toتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do
⤳ Link 43:72
73
لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌۭ كَثِيرَةٌۭ مِّنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
لَكُمْlakumFor youفِيهَاfīhāthereinفَـٰكِهَةٌۭfākihatun(are) fruitsكَثِيرَةٌۭkathīratunabundantمِّنْهَاmin'hāfrom itتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou will eat
For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat
⤳ Link 43:73
74
إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminalsفِى(will be) inعَذَابِʿadhābi(the) punishmentجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hellخَـٰلِدُونَkhālidūnaabiding forever
Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally
⤳ Link 43:74
75
لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
لَاNotيُفَتَّرُyufattaruwill it subsideعَنْهُمْʿanhumfor themوَهُمْwahumand theyفِيهِfīhiin itمُبْلِسُونَmub'lisūna(will) despair
It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair
⤳ Link 43:75
76
وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَمَاwamāAnd notظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْẓalamnāhumWe wronged themوَلَـٰكِنwalākinbutكَانُوا۟kānūthey wereهُمُhumuthemselvesٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَl-ẓālimīnawrongdoers
And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers
⤳ Link 43:76
77
وَنَادَوْا۟ يَـٰمَـٰلِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنَّكُم مَّـٰكِثُونَ
وَنَادَوْا۟wanādawAnd they will callيَـٰمَـٰلِكُyāmālikuO MalikلِيَقْضِliyaqḍiLet put an endعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāto usرَبُّكَ ۖrabbukayour LordقَالَqālaHe (will) sayإِنَّكُمinnakumIndeed, youمَّـٰكِثُونَmākithūna(will) remain
And they will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain
⤳ Link 43:77
78
لَقَدْ جِئْنَـٰكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ
لَقَدْlaqadCertainlyجِئْنَـٰكُمji'nākumWe have brought youبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthوَلَـٰكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَكُمْaktharakummost of youلِلْحَقِّlil'ḥaqqito the truthكَـٰرِهُونَkārihūna(are) averse
We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse
⤳ Link 43:78
79
أَمْ أَبْرَمُوٓا۟ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَ
أَمْamOrأَبْرَمُوٓا۟abramūhave they determinedأَمْرًۭاamranan affairفَإِنَّاfa-innāThen indeed, Weمُبْرِمُونَmub'rimūna(are) determined
Or have they devised [some] affair? But indeed, We are devising [a plan]
⤳ Link 43:79
80
أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَىٰهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
أَمْamOrيَحْسَبُونَyaḥsabūna(do) they thinkأَنَّاannāthat Weلَا(can) notنَسْمَعُnasmaʿuhearسِرَّهُمْsirrahumtheir secret(s)وَنَجْوَىٰهُم ۚwanajwāhumand their private counsel(s)بَلَىٰbalāNayوَرُسُلُنَاwarusulunāand Our Messengersلَدَيْهِمْladayhimwith themيَكْتُبُونَyaktubūnaare recording
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording
⤳ Link 43:80
81
قُلْ إِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدٌۭ فَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْعَـٰبِدِينَ
قُلْqulSayإِنinIfكَانَkānahadلِلرَّحْمَـٰنِlilrraḥmānithe Most Graciousوَلَدٌۭwaladuna sonفَأَنَا۠fa-anāThen, Iأَوَّلُawwalu(would be the) firstٱلْعَـٰبِدِينَl-ʿābidīna(of) the worshippers
Say, [O Muhammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers
⤳ Link 43:81
82
سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
سُبْحَـٰنَsub'ḥānaGlory beرَبِّrabbi(to the) Lordٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordٱلْعَرْشِl-ʿarshi(of) the Throneعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيَصِفُونَyaṣifūnathey ascribe
Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe
⤳ Link 43:82
83
فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
فَذَرْهُمْfadharhumSo leave themيَخُوضُوا۟yakhūḍū(to) converse vainlyوَيَلْعَبُوا۟wayalʿabūand playحَتَّىٰḥattāuntilيُلَـٰقُوا۟yulāqūthey meetيَوْمَهُمُyawmahumutheir Dayٱلَّذِىalladhīwhichيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey are promised
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised
⤳ Link 43:83
84
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَـٰهٌۭ وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَـٰهٌۭ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلَّذِىalladhī(is) the One Whoفِى(is) inٱلسَّمَآءِl-samāithe heaven إِلَـٰهٌۭilāhunGodوَفِىwafīand inٱلْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earth إِلَـٰهٌۭ ۚilāhunGodوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu(is) the All-Wiseٱلْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing
⤳ Link 43:84
85
وَتَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
وَتَبَارَكَwatabārakaAnd blessed (is)ٱلَّذِىalladhīthe One Who لَهُۥlahuto Whomمُلْكُmul'ku(belongs the) dominionٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between both of themوَعِندَهُۥwaʿindahuand with Himعِلْمُʿil'mu(is the) knowledgeٱلسَّاعَةِl-sāʿati(of) the Hourوَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Himتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned
⤳ Link 43:85
86
وَلَا يَمْلِكُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَن شَهِدَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
وَلَاwalāAnd notيَمْلِكُyamlikuhave powerٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomيَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey invokeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides Himٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَl-shafāʿata(for) the intercessionإِلَّاillāexceptمَنmanwhoشَهِدَshahidatestifiesبِٱلْحَقِّbil-ḥaqito the truthوَهُمْwahumand theyيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know
⤳ Link 43:86
87
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلْتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنْmanwhoخَلَقَهُمْkhalaqahumcreated themلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnathey will certainly sayٱللَّهُ ۖl-lahuAllahفَأَنَّىٰfa-annāThen howيُؤْفَكُونَyu'fakūnaare they deluded
And if you asked them who created them, they would surely say, "Allah." So how are they deluded
⤳ Link 43:87
88
وَقِيلِهِۦ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَقِيلِهِۦwaqīlihiAnd his sayingيَـٰرَبِّyārabbiO my LordإِنَّinnaIndeedهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِhāulāitheseقَوْمٌۭqawmun(are) a peopleلَّا(who do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
And [Allah acknowledges] his saying, "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe
⤳ Link 43:88
89
فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
فَٱصْفَحْfa-iṣ'faḥSo turn awayعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themوَقُلْwaquland sayسَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚsalāmunPeaceفَسَوْفَfasawfaBut soonيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnathey will know
So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know
