Which prayer time calculation method is used for Narsingdi?

This page calculates with the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi convention (18° / 18° twilight angles). That is the convention Niyat lists for Bangladesh. If your mosque publishes times from a different method, match the mosque — its jamaat schedule is what you pray by.

What is the difference between Hanafi and Standard (Shafi'i) Asr?

Shafi’i (standard) Asr begins when an object’s shadow equals its own length; Hanafi Asr begins when the shadow equals twice the object’s length. Many mosques in Bangladesh follow the Hanafi convention, so expect local jamaat schedules to sit about 45–60 minutes after the Asr begins time shown here. Both are established conventions; use the one your community prays by. The tables on this page show standard Asr.

How do I get prayer time alerts for Narsingdi?

Method and conventions for Narsingdi

Method: times on this page are calculated with the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi convention (18° / 18° twilight angles), the convention Niyat lists for Bangladesh. This page uses it because the Karachi method is the common default in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Asr in the tables follows the standard (Shafi’i) convention — Asr begins when an object’s shadow equals its own length. Many congregations in Bangladesh pray Asr on the Hanafi convention, which begins when the shadow equals twice the object’s length — roughly 45–60 minutes later — so check which convention your mosque uses. Calculated times mark when each prayer begins; jamaat (congregation) times are set by each mosque, so match your local mosque’s published schedule.

Local mosques in Narsingdi may use another method or add a few minutes of caution, so their times can differ slightly from this page.

From Narsingdi, the qibla bears 278° (W) — the great-circle direction to the Kaaba in Makkah, about 5,201 km away. Turn-by-turn compass: live qibla finder.
