Calculation method

The official Awqaf timetable follows the Gulf convention; on some UAE schedules Isha is set 90 minutes after Maghrib rather than by a twilight angle.

Asr (madhab)

The official Awqaf timetable uses Shafi’i Asr, but Dubai’s large South Asian community prays Hanafi Asr separately. Both timetables circulate.

Local context

The official UAE Awqaf prayer timetable is the reference; Ramadan and Friday schedules are published by the authority.

Setting it up

  1. Open your prayer-time app and pick Dubai (or let it use your GPS).
  2. Set the calculation method to Umm al-Qura (Gulf convention).
  3. Choose the Asr convention your mosque uses — here, typically Mixed.
  4. Compare one day’s Fajr and Maghrib against your mosque’s adhan; if they’re within a minute or two, you’re set.
