A Quranic supplication (Surah az-Zukhruf, 43:13-14) recited in the context of travel.
Bismillahi wal hamdu lillahi subhanal-ladhi sakh-khara lana hadha
In the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah, glory be to Him who has subjected this to us.
Source: Surah az-Zukhruf, 43:13-14. This is a verse of the Quran — the highest source of authority in Islam.
Recite this when returning from travel, as you approach home. It's the matching bookend to the dua you said when you set out.
This dua is drawn from az-Zukhruf. The Quran preserves the supplications of the Prophets themselves — reciting their exact wording is itself a form of following their example. The dua of the traveller is considered a time when Allah is especially responsive — the Prophet (peace be upon him) listed it among the three duas that are not rejected. The travel supplications are meant to keep that responsiveness in the traveller's mind.
