A eating & drinking supplication recorded in the Ibn as-Sunni tradition.
Allahumma barik lana fima razaqtana waqina 'adhabannar
O Allah, bless us in what You have provided for us and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Source: Ibn as-Sunni (weak chain). Note: some scholars have classified this narration as weak; many still recite the meaning given that the wording is sound.
Say this dua right after the meal, before you stand up. The basis is in the hadith literature: praise Allah for the food He provided without your own effort.
This narration is found in 'Amal al-Yawm wa-l-Laylah by Ibn as-Sunni. The chain has been classified as weak by some hadith scholars; many still recite it given the general principle of leniency in the duas of devotion when the meaning is sound. The Prophetic etiquette around food is detailed: name Allah at the start, eat with the right hand, eat from what's in front of you, and thank Allah at the end. The supplications are short — they're meant to be habit-sized, not ritual-sized.
